Time: Approx: 8:15 p.m.
Hi, Me and my girlfriend saw that same UFO at that same time in the Superstition Wilderness where we were backpacking. We were just sitting outside in our camp chairs looking towards the east and both happen to witness this what I thought was a shooting star entering the atmosphere.
At first it had a bright white tail, then it turned green followed by white going at an amazing speed. I thought I saw 4 distinct white lights in the front as it dipped below the horizon. We did not hear a boom, there was only silence.
Much more exciting than any fireworks we might have missed on New Years Eve. Cool stuff. Nice to know we were not the only witnesses. Greetings.
