Over 200 Witnesses Observe UFO And Beam Of Light In British Columbia (Written Report/Letter/Newspaper Article)
From Brian Vike's UFO Files.
(Witness) - I talked with a scientist at the HR MacMillan Space Center/Planetarium in Vancouver, British Columbia.
He seemed to not believe in UFOs nor even the some 10,000 Crop Circles worldwide phenomena.
He suggested what they saw was simply the International Space Station.
Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike's Note: The above text I typed up is from the letter as you will see. Everything else below is the letter I scanned in and posted. The only thing I removed, was anyone's personal information.
The name Carolyn is from the newspaper (Cranbrook Daily Townsman Newspaper - Article ran August 12, 2003)
I did speak to Carolyn and eventually an article was done over the sighting.
Also there was the International Space Station that did fly over around the time of the sighting, but the sighting was over something else.
Also, there was a Fireball that flew over around the same time of the sighting.
So we know of two things that flew over the entire area around the time the witness had their sighting.
What came next, I wasn't prepared for. When the newspaper ran the news article they included my contact, email, website at that time, and my phone number which I gave the OK for.
Well in came the first call, a witness was reporting what they saw, then another call, and another, and another. Honestly, the phone never stopped ringing. This went on for almost a week. People wanted to file a report as they saw the unknown thing as well. Actually the phone rang so many times I grabbed my fishing rod and we went out to the river to have a break.
It ended up I took well over 200 phone calls and a few emails from this sighting. I know some folks believe it was one of the two things I mentioned above, these being the International Space Station or a Fireball.
But what people reported to me was no Fireball or the International Space Station. This was something odd, what, I don't know. Maybe if people had the chance to listen to all of the mini audio tapes I have over this, they might think differently. So for me, this was a UFO event that so many people observed.
I wrote up an article which you can find here: Over 200 Witnesses Speak Out On UFO And Beam Of Light Sighting - We Want To Know!
http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.ca/2010/12/over-200-witnesses-speak-out-on-ufo-and.html
Also, this took place just before the Missing Time case out of Kelowna, British Columbia.
I should add, that in the newspaper article I am mentioned under HBCC UFO Research. I did own and operated it, but sold the domains names and now run under “The Vike Factor”.
Letter and scanned Newspaper Article below:

Spinning Globe/UFO With Beam Of Sickening Blue Light At Jonesville Virginia
Date: Spring of 1977
Time: Around midnight.
Brian, I hope this note finds you doing well and I'm sorry I have put off this email so long, sometimes I'm willing to "chew" on what happened on that particular night in the Spring of 1977, and sometimes I'm unwilling, this morning, I feel inspired to share.
When I first emailed you in September, I had just been through a very interesting Summer in that several things happened that oh so reminded me of a night in 1977 that taught me what fear was.
My father had just sold our small family owned Chevy dealership and purchased a bigger Chevrolet store in a slightly larger market. This southwest Virginia town had at that time, before coal was killed, a good and prosperous future.
A home was purchased and additions and upgrades began on the nearly 100 year old house, meantime, we rented a small house in Jonesville, Virginia, a few miles away.
I, at 20 years old, had planned on getting an apartment near the dealership, but for the first time in my life, I was moving soon to a mansion on the hill.
The heck with the apartment, Pop had moved us "on up" and I wasn't going miss out on driving girlfriends up that driveway (this situation lasted only a few years, however, due to Carters policies killing the auto business, ended up in a subdivision, just like everybody else, good while it lasted, though.)
So, there's the skinny on where I was at that time, in the rented house in Jonesville, Virginia in the standup attic bedroom/party room I took upstairs.
This was one long room with an old rather large window at each end.
One night, about midnight, propped on my elbow reading by a small, dim lamp, the 13" TV playing, I noticed a car rolling off the hill out my back window and one headlight was out, it looked as if an unlikeable neighbors car had gotten loose and was rolling down through the yards.
I was wondering who's house it was going to smash into. I turned off the lamp, put my book on the bedside table, and propped up my pillow to sit up in bed and watch the show of what I was sure going be cops, yelling neighbors and maybe even a bigole fire, well, I was 19.
As soon as I got good and set up, this one headlight instantly made a bee line for my window! It covered 200 yards in one second. I could not move, period. I was gripped with fear, sounds cliché, but gripped I was, I could move my eyes, nothing else.
This "headlight" was now a spinning, smeary/crackly globe about the size of a basketball, with a pencil beam of sickening blue light emanating from one spot. As the globe spun, the beam was passing through my room going up and down searching, I prayed. Paralyzed, I prayed. Every rotation of the ball, brought the blue beam closer to me. It searched the room five times. That's it.
When I awoke around 8:00 a.m., I was so stiff, that I had to think if Id been in a wreck or fight the night before, nope, home all night........oh!
When I remembered, my legs went out from under me. I collapsed and mom found me, asked me what was wrong, i told her as best I could, she began to cry, and to tell me that she had just gotten off the phone with my aunt who had just listened to the same story from her son.
Well, Brian, that's my encounter with the blue beam of light. That particular frequency of blue, I've never seen before, but to this day, a neon sign of near that hue makes me sick.
Hope this helps, in some way, my friend.
Thank you to the witness for a very interesting report.

Bright Blue White Object With Beam Of Light Coming From It Seen Over Bronx New York
Date: March 31, 2012
Time: Evening.
I live in the Bronx and last night I was in my living room when I noticed a bright streaking light out of the corner of my eye. I opened the window to get a better view as I could not believe what I was seeing.
This object did not seem large, as it must have been only 150 feet from my window. It was very bright (blue to white) and had many points, almost like you would expect when seeing a star.

The object slowed down and had a beam similar to a searchlight coming out of it and seemed to be scanning the area.
At this point I ran to get my camera and within the moment I came back it was gone. I watch UFO documentaries all the time and believe we are not alone, but must admit this took me aback.
And I am pretty certain it was not a helicopter or balloon or some other easily recognized object

Unknown Beam Of Light Shines Down On Large Tree At Bowmanville Ontario
Date: January 2012
Time: Between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Beam of light.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: One night in January 2012 I was standing in my back yard with my fiancée having a smoke. As we were talking I saw a beam of light shine down onto a tree in a backyard that is on the corner of Duke street and Nelson Street.
I mentioned to my fiancée whose back was to it. By the time he turned around it was gone. He turned back to me and it shone down again, but this time it was north of the original sighting and about a street width and a house north of it.
I told my fiancée to turn around again and it disappeared. Once he was facing me again it shone down one more time, again a bit further north than the original 2 sightings.
I have thought about it and thought about it. It was a similar shape as a helicopter searchlight but not as bright.
There was nothing in the sky. The tree it shone down on is huge. I cannot figure out what this light was from. The light was narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, like if you were to hold a flashlight upside down.
When it was over the tree, the wide part was at the top of the tree and the light seemed to be coming from the sky. Again, there was no helicopter or any craft that I could see that this light could be coming from. Bowmanville is a bit east of Oshawa, which has had 2 incidents of loud humming noises reported by residents in the wee hours of the morning in January and February 2012.
Also a report of a bright light in the sky in the north end of the city on February 7, 2012 as reported on Durham Radio News. They reported that there were no records of meteors falling the night of the sighting. I should also mention that the Darlington Nuclear Plant is located between Bowmanville and Oshawa.

Bright Beam Of Light And Red Flashing Haze In The Clouds Over London Ontario
Date: February 11, 2012
Time: 10:15 p.m.,
Good Evening Brian Vike, I'm located in London, Ontario. I just see the strangest beam of light come down from the sky about 10 minutes ago which would have been 10:15 p.m. on February 11, 2012. The light was south of London.
Right away, I Googled what I seen to see if anyone seen something similar and I came across a post that stated that someone seen the same thing in the same city on October 4, 2011.
What I witnessed was a bright beam of light that fell from the sky, surrounded by a lighter orb of light. The light flashed three times with no sound. Shortly after there was a haze of red lights flashing in the clouds.
My spouse did panic, thinking it was a nuclear bomb and rushed us into the house. He didn't see the beam of light, just the red flashing haze in the clouds. I personally don't believe it was a bomb, it doesn't explain the solid thick beam of light.
It happened so fast that I have no pictures. But I wanted to contact someone and let them know what I witnessed as it scared the living day lights out of me.
If you receive any more reports, could you please contact me to give me a piece of mind. Thank you.

Edmonton Alberta - More Witnesses To Vertical Orange Beam Of Light
Date: January 11, 2012
Time: Approx: 11:15 p.m.
Yes, we have witnessed the same thing, I tried to get it on my cell, but wouldn’t record because it’s just not the same as using a high tech camera. I immediately notified a few people and they too said yes they can see it.
The light seemed to pulsate then slowly turned from orange to white then faded away.

Peculiar Vertical Bright Orange Beam Of Light In The Sky Over Edmonton Alberta
Date: January 11, 2012
Time: Approx: 11:15 p.m.
Vike Factor Note: This strange occurrence was seen by another person who filed a report on the sighting: “Vertical Orange Beam Of Light Seen From Edmonton Alberta” http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/2012/01/vertical-orange-beam-of-light-seen-from.html
Hello Brian, this week on Wednesday January 11th, 2012 I witnessed a very peculiar orange beam of light in the sky. At about a 11:15 p.m. a few friends and myself were driving back home from west Edmonton Mall, when my girlfriend in the passenger seat excitedly pointed something out.
When I looked into the sky, I saw a large beam of very bright orange light pointing nearly vertically into the sky. At first I thought It was an illusion of one of the lights on the road reflecting off the car window, as the light had the same vibrant orange glow, but as we drove it didn't seem to move from it's place, and would slightly dim and then grow bright again.
We watched it the whole way home, and then I stood on my back deck at my home and watched until either it faded out too much to see, or the city lights and haze in the distance blocked it out. I wasn't able to see it any longer by 11:45 p.m.
It was the strangest thing, I've ever seen a light like that in the sky before, and I do quite a bit of star watching. It seemed to have no origin, the beam of light wasn't coming from the ground up, it was just a small streak in the sky.
I really had hoped others aside from us in the car had seen this, and was fortunate enough to find your blog with the entry of the couple witnessing the same thing on the same night. I left a comment, but decided I should contact you with my whole sighting anyways. Thanks.

Vertical Orange Beam Of Light Seen From Edmonton Alberta
Date: January 11, 2012
Time: 11:30 p.m.
Good Afternoon, last night around 23:30 MNT in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, my husband noticed a vertical orange beam to the east of the moon. At first we thought it was a beam from a neighbors house light, but as we watched the light it was like it was alive.
It would fade and brighten, grow longer and shorter, and almost disappear then come back. It looked like the sky was going to split open, what an amazing sight! We enjoyed watching the orange light dance for a few minutes, then it faded away.
What was that?
What was that?

Huge Green Beam Of Light Comes From UFO Over Central Ohio
Date: 2009 (?)
Time: Evening.I saw the article at http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/2011/04/neon-green-beam-of-light-over-maalaea.html about the green beam of light coming from the sky, and I've had a very similar experience in 2009.
Before I get started, I'd just like to say that I'm a skeptic and an Atheist, so I don't think it was some "spirit" or anything, and I'm not exaggerating to try to make it sound like a had a "close encounter" or whatever. The following is really the only reason I have for believing that there may be ET's visiting us.
I was on the way back home from my mothers house (Central, Ohio) when a huge green beam of light coming from about 10 feet above a large tree that was about 75 feet behind us. It started shining inside of the car and zig-zagging all over the place, lighting up about a 50 feet radius.
My buddy was driving and he thought it was just someone messing with us or something, as I did too at the moment, so he threw the car in reverse and backed up to the tree it was coming from and shouted for "whoever's shining that light in my mirror get the heck out here!
I can't see where I'm going, you're lighting up the whole inside of the car and it stopped. We sat there for a minute, then continued on our way. As soon as we started driving again, the light started zig-zagging at a more and more rapid pace illuminating what I'd guess was about a 500 feet radius, it lit up the whole damn neighborhood pretty much.
It was at that point when I realized where it was coming from, like I said, about 10 feet above the tree. It continued to follow us all the way down the road, keeping up with us the whole time. Throughout the whole rest of the way home which was about 8 miles, we could see green orb-like lights throughout the woods on both sides of us and when we got into town they just vanished and I've never seen anything like it since.
It's wasn't 40 feet wide, or coming from the ocean, but it seems like a really similar incident; green beam of light coming from seemingly nowhere. Thanks for your time.

Green Beam Of Light Over Maui Mountains Hawaii
Date: September 21, 2011 ?
Time: Evening.I read your short article. I had a customer four days ago in a nighttime outdoor business that commented to me they saw a green beam that came out of the west and over the Maui mountains and went up to the sky.
I asked if they were shooting down something, they said no and that it appeared to be going up.
They asked me what I was. I laughed because I had seen it also about a year ago on my late night drive home from work. Honestly I have never really talked to anyone about. I thought I was just tired after work. Clue me in if you know what it might be.

Neon Green Beam Of Light Over Maalaea Village Maui Hawaii
Date: March 31, 2011
Time: 3:00 a.m.Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Neon green beam of light
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Looking out on our ocean front balcony at 3:00am a neon green beam of light around 40 feet wide and reached from the ocean to the sky. The beam of light appeared quickly and was moving toward our condo and then quickly disappeared. This was witnessed by my husband who does not believe in UFO's.
The next morning he called the Coast Guard and the airport and talked to several people, but did not get an answer. No one knew what he was talking about. So now my husband thinks that maybe the navy was doing something and didn't want the public to know. What do you think?

Beam Of Light Witnessed Over Wynndel British Columbia
Date: 1990s
Time: Evening.
One was called the 'Okanagan Arch' which exactly describes this beam of light. I was intrigued that it was a recurring albeit rare event so I thought I'd look it up online. I was surprised that your website was the only one I found that mentioned it. In the book, the author tells that this beam of light has been reported throughout the years, 1900's, 1920's, 30's etc. and at the time of writing it was still a mystery as to it's cause.
Sincerely.

Over 200 Witnesses Speak Out On UFO And Beam Of Light Sighting - We Want To Know!
By Brian Vike.
From the Vike Factor archives (Brian Vike) http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/
What can cause so many residents in various communities from Kamloops through to the Okanagan and the Kootenays in British Columbia left scratching their heads, wondering what it was they all witnessed. Also many people became very frightened and ran into their homes. The answers to the questions I have been asked have been hard to come by, but we certainly know something extraordinary did take place on July 28, 2003 in the early morning hours.
The story begins with a family who was camping at St. Mary's Lake, which is located approximately 12 miles east of Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada. Around 12:45 a.m. the husband and wife decided to do some star gazing as the children were asleep and the night was warm and the sky clear and full of stars. As the couple stood looking into the night sky they observed a very bright, white light heading in a southeasterly direction.
The moon sized light was witnessed flying low over top Bootleg Mountain and across the lake and at times it's speed did vary. As it slowed, then picking up speed once again the witnesses watched the light zig zag slightly and at times it seemed to wobble until it was out of sight.
When they arrived back home from their camping trip they contacted the Kimberley RCMP detachment and spoke to a Cpl. Rod Carbonneau to enquire if others had reported seeing the object. Cpl. Rod Carbonneau said the detachment received no calls over this matter.
The Cranbrook Airport was also contacted and asked if there were any aircraft in the area of the sighting .... but none were reported in the vicinity the object was observed. For the couple who watched this amazing sight on July 28, 2003 not many answers were fourth coming. A couple of area residents did telephone the folks who watched the event telling them what they also saw that night, and another did make a report to the local newspaper.
From A Few Witnesses To a Flood Of Calls.
A report was made to Peter Davenport at the NUFORC in Seattle, Washington and then the sighting report was forwarded on to me here at The Vike Factor for a follow-up investigation. What I did not realize at this time was just how large this one case was going to be. From a handful of witnesses the case exploded into a major event where I ended up with over 200 eye witnesses to something very mysterious.
Two things happened in the early morning hours that Sunday, a large moon sized object was seen by many area residents, and what followed left many folks in communities such as Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Kimberley, Cranbrook and as far as Jaffray, British Columbia scratching their heads wondering what it was they saw.
A beam, or ray of white light was observed from Kamloops as far southeast as Jaffray, British Columbia. People who watched the strange and puzzling event said the white light looked as bright as a florescent tube and was arced from horizon to horizon as if one was viewing a rainbow. The beam of light sat almost stationary in this position for approximately an hour before dissipating. Almost everyone who witnessed the beam of white light said they had never seen anything like this before. All said they have watched the northern lights many times, but they commented this was certainly not the northern lights!
A Few Of The Eye Witness Accounts - The Light/Object (July 28, 2003)
A gentleman from Cranbrook, B.C. telephoned me and reported that he and his family were sitting outside and were discussing how bad the forest fires are throughout the southern interior when one of the family members spotted what they thought was a airplane with it's landing lights on and heading in their direction. As the bright white light drew closer to them, the size was growing rapidly and so was the brightness of the light. Before they knew it, the light/object was upon them.
The family was so frightened due to the immense size of the light/object being almost at the edge of their property that the children ran into the house screaming. The mother followed closely behind. The father followed his wife and kids into the home, but stopped to take one last glance at whatever it was, and watched it make a 90 degree turn to the south. When I spoke to the dad he told me that they heard not a sound coming from it.
Another report came from a lady who was with a group of people on their holiday at their cabin on one of the local Kimberley, B.C. lakes. She told me they were sitting outside on the deck when one of the guests pointed towards the northwest. Low over one of the mountains came a huge, extremely bright white light traveling slowly in a zig zag pattern heading to the southeast.
As it got closer to the resort area, many people became uncomfortable due to how strange the object/light was acting. As it passed straight overhead not a sound was heard. Some of the folks who were there said it was like looking at a full moon on a clear night. It was that big!
Two men in a pick-up truck traveling north along the highway just south of Wycliffe spotted the large bright object flying south. As they watched the large light/object close in on their location they pulled the truck over to the side of the highway, and jumped out of the vehicle to get a better look.
Due to it being so low, so bright, and passing directly over top of them the light from the object lit up the highway and surrounding area. Both men stood frozen in their tracks and speechless. Both fellows said it moved quickly in a straight line and made no unusual maneuvers. Again no sound was heard which is remarkable due to how close it was to these men, and all the other witnesses.
The above is a small example of what folks saw that night. There are many more reports here of area residents reporting seeing the same thing.
A Few Of The Eye Witness Accounts - Beam Of Light (July 28, 2003)
One lady said what she saw was very strange, it didn't behave like the northern lights as she noted that the lights danced across the sky, or looked like a curtain of shimmering light. She wondered if the long dry hot weather may have something to do with what she was seeing. But her thoughts changed quickly as she watched the beam of light come from the northwest horizon and impaled itself on one of the local hills and that is where it ended, according to this witness.
A party of four witnesses were out for a few days on one of the areas lakes just outside of Kimberley, B.C. Everyone was having a good time talking and having a few spirits. One of the men who was sitting on a camping chair had just poured himself a drink, when he looked up and said to the rest of the people he was with, "do you see what I am seeing"? Everyone replied, "yes"! The man who asked the question was so surprised at what he was looking at, he poured his drink onto the ground and thought he'd had one to many that evening! They all watched a beam of narrow bright white light run in an arc from horizon to horizon.
First they wondered if it might have been a search light as it was so bright, but they soon ruled this out due to the miles and miles the light covered. Again all these witnesses said this event lasted for approximately one hour before it dissipated.
Some three weeks after people saw the beam of light on July 28, 2003, I had calls from Kelowna and Kimberley British Columbia reporting that the beam of light was back in the night sky. Two Kelowna residents stood on the patio with phone in hand reporting what it was they were seeing. The exact white beam of light sat stationary running from horizon to horizon and was extremely bright.
Four Kimberley residents stood outside watching the beam of light, they reported standing under a street lamp and even with brightness from the street light they could clearly see the beam of light sitting in the dark sky.
Conclusions
There is no doubt that something very unusual took place on Sunday, July 28, 2003 in the wee hours that morning. What folks saw in all these communities seems to be a mystery. But I have tried to come up with some reasonable answers for all the questions everyone had for me.
Here Is What I Know
Over 200 witnesses watched an amazing event unfold on July 28, 2003 (early morning). Some observed the object and others observed the beam of light. (Exact numbers are broken down for how many saw the object or beam of light below.
What I didn't say is how many saw both).
38 witnesses observed a huge, bright white low flying light/object.
162 witnesses observed the reported beam of bright white light.
The International Space Station passed over Kimberley, B.C., at 00:24 hrs. on July 27, 2003.
A Fire Ball was observed flying in a southeasterly direction over the West Coast of Canada and the U.S.
Most of the witnesses reported the light/object and beam of light running from the northwest to the southeast.
There would have been a lot of air traffic in some of these areas due to the fire fighting efforts to control the devastating forest fires which raged through some of these areas in the summer of 2003.
Our hearts go out to the people who were effected.
So, the questions that need an be answered are.... What was the strange, large, glowing bright object? Did the object cause the beam of light which sat stationary in the night sky for approximately an hour as the object traveled through the areas?
As for the object, this is certainly a mystery. After a lot of time speaking with witnesses, looking at data on astronomical events, checking on the flight paths, seeing if there were aircraft in these areas flying at the time of the sighting...... I have come up against a brick wall. I have not found any rational explanation for what people saw that night.
Fireballs for example as far as I know do not make 90 degree turns to another direction. Also seeing that the object was so low, traveling rather slow in many of the reports and not making a sound. This again is certainly strange. Something else I found rather interesting, was the fact that reported sightings had dropped from my area here in the pacific northwest of British Columbia and reports of unusual crafts of every kind were now being seen and reported by many people residing in the areas from Kamloops, the Okanagan straight through into the Kootenays. Almost every different shape, color and size have been reported to The Vike Factor. Did the over 800 forest fires attract visitors from above? I am sure we will never really know the answer to that question..... ?
The beam of white light ended up still being as baffling as the object. When reports started coming in I was sure what everyone was seeing was nothing more than the northern lights. But as the list of witnesses grew, and hearing their comments, I started wondering if there was a connection to these unknowns and the beam of white light. Out of the 126+ witnesses who observed the ray of light running across the night sky from horizon to horizon, only one report was filed saying they believed it to be nothing more than the northern lights. (which I report on below). Everyone else said they have never witnessed anything like in their lives. All said they have watched the northern lights on many occasions, and in their words "this was not the northern lights".
A radio station host put a question on air to the people in the area, asking "has anyone seen strange lights in the night sky?" I was told reports flooded in over this beam of light, and how everyone was left not knowing what it was they saw.
To be fair to all sides, I placed below an email I received from a person who did have some knowledge in astronomy, weather phenomena and the northern lights. One thing I would like to point out, is that what the gentleman viewed was not on the day of this major event.
The email came from a gentleman who, on the evening of July 26, 2003 and morning of July 27, 2003, stated that a sailing regatta was held by the Kelowna Yacht Club. Although the event discussed in the report above took place in the early morning hours of July 28, 2003, I thought the report below was important due to how close all of the events were to one another. Plus I want to give both sides on this case.
Also I believe this is also very important to throw into the mix, there was the huge UFO sighting and Missing Time/Abduction incident in Kelowna, British Columbia on July 31, 2003 not to mention the dozens of other UFOs reported all throughout the area.

Military Security Police Observe UFO And Light Beam Over Cannon Air Force Base
From the Vike Factor archives (Brian Vike) http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/
Date: Early 1968
This report below was told to me by a fellow who heard the story from one of the Military Security Police Officers with whom he bunked at Cannon Air Force Base at the time of the incident.
The gentleman told me that in 1968 he was a Military Security Police Officer and was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base which is located just outside of Clovis, New Mexico. The man said he was sure that the information he was going to give me was declassified, to a point. He said at that time the base had the only F111 Flight Simulator in the United States arsenal which was located at the Cannon Air Force Base, so they certainly had the Security.
At 1:00 to 2:00 a.m., the Zantop aircraft would be landing. The fellow said the Zantop was in the same line of work that Air America was in, but Zantop would carry around classified equipment. For example, if some important classified equipment was needed from one of the manufacturers, this aircraft was sent out to collect it.
On one particular night in early 1968, glowing objects were spotted beyond the fence line of the base and in the distant perimeter. The staff at the Air Force Base pretty much ignored these lights on the first night, wondering if it was someone playing around...or not thinking a whole lot about it.
On the second night, a couple of Military Security Police were up on the flight line when they observed an object above them and as they watched they saw a white beam of light came down from the object. (From the person who is relating this story: he said to his understanding the light was attached to the object when first noticed).
The two Military Security Police ended up watching the object leave the vicinity but the beam of light stayed and moved around the flight line. The Security Police were in a position to challenge the beam of light, and when they came near to it ... it skirted them. The light almost matched the Police Officers moves. The Police challenged the light on three different occasions only to have it move around them.
One of the Police Officers new someone who was in the air traffic control tower at the base, the tower people officially said nothing happened, but unofficially they had observed the entire event. This all took place on the second night.
On the third night after the strange lights were observed around the Cannon Air Force Base, the beam of light reappeared and went over towards the building where the F111 Flight Simulator was housed. Around the building was the Base Security and it was reported that the beam of light penetrated the building as it was seen inside. Shortly afterwards the beam of light was gone.
After the three nights of the unusual experiences at the base, the men who were with Base Security and who witnessed all of this were talking about what they had witnessed. Eventually, folks from Internal Security showed up and interviewed all of the MPs who were there. There were approximately 14 or 15 personal (SAT - Security Alert Team) who were involved in this event and who were subsequently reassigned to different Air Force Bases. Only one of the Military Security Police Officers - a Sgt. - remained at Cannon Air Force Base.
Not one of the SAT members had failed in their duties. Nevertheless, they were sent to other bases because of the strange phenomena that took place in early 1968. I would guess someone wanted to keep a lid on what happened.
Thank you to the ex-military man for relating the story for us all to read.
Also again I would really appreciate hearing from any military men and women who have been witness to this event, or to other events of this kind which have taken place over many military bases.

Beam Of Light Filmed Over Edson Alberta (Video Footage)
Date: September 23, 2010
Time: 11:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Edson Alberta.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Beam of light.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hello Brian, well here we go again. I have seen strange things in the skies almost every night now, though the number of the objects have been steadily decreasing since mid August. I was getting ready for bed and went out for my last smoke when I gazed to the NNW and couldn't believe my eyes.
I caught the whole thing on video and got my mother-in-law out of bed to witness this too. It was just a glowing reddish orange beam of light. I'm estimating over the farm land a couple of kilometers north of town, probably over the farmers fields, near the radio towers. The beam of light was hovering? In the clouds I don't think it was the northern lights, though I may be wrong. It seems to be more like a fire in the sky if you can believe that one. Anyway have a look and tell me what you think.

Red Glowing Light With Beam Coming From Object Over Knightswood Glasgow Scotland
Date: March 14th and 20th, 2010
Time: Approx: 11:40 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Knightswood Glasgow.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round and glowing.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I looked out my window at around 11:40pm on Saturday, 20th, March 2010 and saw what was a round bright red glowing object moving slowly in the sky. It then disappeared. There was a strong red beam of light coming from it and it was making no sound at all. I did not have time to film it, but myself and the people that saw it, had no clue as to what it was it was. It definitely was not a helicopter or plane, because a plane flew right under it, so I imagine the pilot should have seen it. There was no wind that night either and it was moving from east to west. I still have no idea of what it was, but I know a number of people who have witnessed it over the Glasgow area recently who do not know what it is either.
Brian Vike's Note: This is the second report that we have received on a red/orange colored light that had a beam of light emanating from the object.

A Narrow Very Bright Blue Beam Of Light Comes From The Sky At Victoria, British Columbia
Date: 1968
Time: Evening.Location of Sighting: Victoria, B.C.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Unknown.
Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian
This is in response to your request for UFO sightings on Vancouver Island. I know of only three and I sent you one of them about a week ago. That was about the three daylight "stars" my dad saw in Alert Bay in 1924.
The next one I will tell you about took place in 1968 or 69. It happened to a girl who became my best friend. Actually you've already met her in another story. She was the lady who was camping with her husband in Ontario when her dogs and her husband saw the lady floating across the campground!
At the time of this event I'd not known her for very long. We were both taking a medical training course at the Jubilee Hospital and had just met. However we had become instant friends. Eventually we became roommates.
One morning she came to work and seemed tired and a bit distracted. During lunch she told me a strange story. At this time she was living on her own and boarding at two houses across the street from each other. In one house she had a bedroom and the other is where she had all her meals. It was an odd arrangement but seemed to work for everyone. This was in the Rockland area, not far from the hospital.
She told me that during the night she awoke feeling very frightened. She sensed that something was in her basement bedroom with her. Her first thought was that she must have been dreaming and this was just a residual feeling, but it wasn't going away. It was getting stronger. She knew she had to get out of there. She had to get away from the house and hide. A place of refuge might be the house across the street where she had her meals, so she grabbed the house key, dashed down the hallway and out the basement door. As soon as she got a little way from the door a bright blue beam of light appeared at the edge of the yard. It was coming from the sky and although she could not bring herself to look up to see where it was coming from, it felt quite close. It was like a searchlight beam, very narrow, very bright and very blue. There was no sound and the night was completely still. As the light came closer to her she ran around the corner of the house. The blue light followed. All she knew was she must not let the blue light touch her. She tried to hide but the blue light kept coming closer. She wanted to run to the house across the street but was terrified of being out in the open.
Then she stopped talking. I asked her what happened next. She quietly said "I don't know". I asked where she had woken in the morning but she didn't remember. I asked if she had breakfast at the other house and she assumed she must have. All she remembers is trying to hide from the bright blue light and then nothing until arriving at work.
We talked about it for a while, trying to understand what had happened. It obviously was not a helicopter as there was absolutely no sound. And anyway, why would a helicopter (with blue lights) be chasing her around the yard in the middle of the night in a residential area. We tentatively went to the topic of flying saucers (as they were then called). We really didn't want to go there! We rejected that idea because of the blue light. We didn't know much about them but we'd never heard of any with a blue light. Eventually we reluctantly settled on a very vivid, unusual nightmare. That was OK with her. She didn't really want to believe that what had happened was real!
Over the next few days she seemed less upset and we didn't talk about it any more. Then a couple of months later I happened across a UFO report that talked of a narrow bright blue beams of light, exactly as she had described! That immediately brought back the flying saucer possibility. After all, it was the blue light that had made us reject the idea originally.
Was it a UFO, hallucination (she did not drink or do drugs) or a strange dream ? She doesn't know, but even after all these years she remembers it very well. We still talk about it sometimes and wonder.
Hope this is a bit of what you are looking for, Brian. If it is and if I have some time later I will tell you of the third UFO event that I am aware of in this area.
