Retired US Navy Aircraft Mechanic Observes Orange Colored Light Over Everson Washington

Date:  February 14, 2015
Time:  10:30 p.m.

Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Ball of light.
Colour of Object: N-NW, then West.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I too saw this same or similar light in the sky last night. However, it was south of me heading north by northwest. I live in Everson, WA 98247.

The light was approximately 5 or more times the size of the surrounding stars. I am a retired US Navy aircraft mechanic, so I am very used to visually identifying aircraft of all types.

This light was the wrong color for a landing and or spot/flood light. The object made no noise, and traveled in the sky for more than a minute before fading out much like a meteor would. However, it was traveling very slow across the sky like a high altitude aircraft would.

The thing that really surprised me is, this light made a right turn, however the light source didn't fade as landing lights would during a turn from my vantage point.

My concern was, it was an aircraft on fire. When the object made the turn to the west, it traveled for several seconds, and then slowly faded out. Were there any other reports of this object?

Has anyone figured out what it was? If it were landing lights, I would have seen an aspect change in the lights intensity as the aircraft turned. If it were a meteor it would not be able to make a right turn.

Not having any detectable sound is irrelevant as acoustics from aircraft can be very misleading anyway. The only thing I can surmise is it must have been an aircraft with a major fire, that got the fire out using the onboard fire suppression systems.

Let me know if you know anything. If it was an aircraft on fire, I hope the pilot(s) made it back safely.

1970 UFO Incident Aboard Navy Ship - Bay Of Biscay Experience (Pictures/Graphics)

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files)

Vike, being a retired art teacher, living in western Ohio, I am far removed from the events on the Bay of Biscay in 1970.

Yet the feelings I acquired then seem like they started yesterday.

The illustration comes very close to what appeared to me. Thank you.

Bay of Biscay Experience 1970

Amidships on a Destroyer there is low, flat, open space. The picture below shows, from an archive photo, the USS Dyess (DD-880). It was aboard this small craft that an incident occurred which will haunt me for the rest of my life.

From the front (bow), going toward the rear, there are two gun turrets. Behind those is a big complex of two towers, called the superstructure.

Immediately after that is a low, dark, sunken area. On that night in July, 1970, I sat alone above it on a set of steps, so that I was looking forward in the direction of the superstructure.

I couldn’t believe that I had this beautiful scene all to myself. Billions of stars and a brilliant full moon illuminated the calm, smooth ocean’s surface.

This setting was further enhanced by the balmy temperature. The absence of my shipmates was, at first, no concern.

Soon, however, I was confronted with something that would send me inside the nearest hatchway for cover.

The next page shows where the whole thing happened.

The first sensation was that of being frozen in time. I was relaxed, yet found I was unable to move.

Then there suddenly appeared on the deck below me, about twenty feet away, a glowing, truly luminous cloud.

It was silent and its edges were yellow-green wisps. Spherical in form and not solid, but gaseous, it swirled inside as it hovered above the steel-plated deck. In my dreamlike state I lost track of the minutes.

The neon blue-green apparition had materialized in an instant, but then began slowly to transform, and darken, as it shrank down from twelve feet in diameter. While doing so, its semi-transparent nature thickened and the edges became well-defined.

Any haziness was replaced by a strange figure, human in size. The deep cyan vision had a full body, head, arms, legs, hands and feet, while it began to dance about joyfully.

A performance that seems like it was yesterday, I recall it with trepidation now, forty-two years later.

What began without warning vanished just as quickly, leaving me alone and mystified.

Image right: Left is an illustration of the situation as it appeared.

Although reconstructed more than four decades after the event, to me this is of no concern, because the memory is as fresh as last night.

Although I did move inside after experiencing this, it was not due to fear.

Actually, the contact gave me a feeling of comfort and knowing.

Navy Personal Observe A 30 Foot In Diameter Red UFO From The USS Preserver

Date:  1984
Time:  Evening.

In 1984 I was a US Navy Diver stationed on board the USS Preserver, ARS-8. We were on a routine excursion to Pensacola, FL from our home port in Little Creek, VA to recover the wreck of a downed Navy Trainer, A-4 I believe.

En route headed south just east of Cape Hatteras we noticed that our stern running light was out and needed to replace it as dusk was approaching.

The aft third of an ARS is all salvage deck and diving space (hydraulic and electrical gear below along with the diving locker) and as such was our responsibility for all maintenance and repairs.

Not a big deal as all that was needed was to lower the flag staff and replace the bulb. The evening meal was being served on the mess decks and while we were changing out the bulb and BS-ing when we saw what appeared to be a flare off to the east.

Oddly enough the 'flare' rose in the sky, disappeared or extinguished then reappeared and whizzed off in a near vertical motion.

This was most unusual, but since we thought it was a flare, we reported it to the bridge as a normal course of procedure. We were speculating on the odd occurrence and why a 'flare' would behave in such a peculiar manner.

Could it have been a UFO? Our fellow sailors were now coming out of the galley, one by one and were gathering as we were describing what had happened.

For the most part everyone thought we were just being ignorant and dismissed our speculations as just that.

By now it was dark and a very clear night. While in the midst of our banter between divers and the rest of the crew, one of the non-partisans to our little story became pale and his eyes opened as if he had just seen a ghost.

He pointed into the sky off the starboard gunwale and we all saw it, a red orb.

This light reminds me for all the world like the little trailing red UFO on Close Encounters (I am just watching it for the umpteenth time which is what caused me to look up 'glowing red light UFO' on Google.

This red orb hung with us for awhile and seemed to be about 30' in diameter, though it had no real form.

Our boat only ran at about 13 knots, so this thing was just keeping pace and made not a single sound. We all hustled up to the signal bridge to try to catch a glimpse through the "big eyes", the mounted binocular telescope used by the signal watch.

While on the signal bridge (which happens to be directly above the bridge of the ship where Ops and the Captain are situated) we could hear radio chatter from Coast Guard vessels and other vessels calling the Preserver to inquire about the contact that was showing exactly on our position.

In almost an instant the red orb took off at what seemed like an unimaginable speed again with no sound.

We spent the rest of the night looking up towards the heavens, but never saw another thing like the red orb that would mark its place in our memories for the rest of our lives!

Navy Pilot And Family Baffled By Orange Light Over Memphis Tennessee

Date: July 3, 2010
Time: Evening.

We also witnessed the orange light on July 3rd. We live just outside Memphis, TN. My husband (a Navy pilot), 2 of our children, and I were all swimming when I noticed the light. I asked my husband immediately what it was and was surprised when he didn't know. It travelled very steadily and quietly for at least 45 seconds. He too said that it looked like some type of rocket, or burning engine, but was not convinced that it was either.

He has spent a lot of hours flying at night and had never seen anything like, which gave him the chills. I guessed it was a meteor, but after doing a little research, that didn't seem right either.

From where we were it seemed to be heading SE to NW and originally thought it was fairly close to Earth. However, we found out later that night that a friend's son had seen it from Indianapolis, so we knew it was further away than we originally thought.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Retired Navy Man Observes UFO Over Harrisonburg Virginia

Date: March 20, 2010
Time: Approx: 6:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: 38*25'08.10n/ 78*48'07.70w.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Irregular doughnut, large as a house.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: While my friend and I were traveling west on Route 33 just east of Harrisonburg Va. We noticed what looked like a giant irregular shaped object that looked translucent. We observed the object from about half a mile. We pulled over to the side of the road to watch, as a few other cars were doing as well. The object was big as a house and had a golden glow. There seemed to be a hole in the middle of the object.

After about 4 minutes the object disappeared, as if in the blink of an eye. I am a retired Navy man an a private pilot. This thing whatever it's origin was unlike anything I have ever seen. As a long time believer that we are involved with objects and beings not from this planet, I finally observed an object of unknown origin with my own eyes. Fantastic!
