Ice Jam On The Bulkley River Smithers British Columbia (Pictures)

Above Photo: Ice jam raise's the water in the Bulkley River at Smithers, British Columbia.

An ice jam has threaten to flood homes that are in low lying areas next to the Bulkley river in Smithers, British Columbia in the early part of January 2016. People were placed on high alert as the ice and water backed up onto peoples property.

As chunks of ice started building up on the river, this caused the water to back up, flooding some basements and property.

There were approximately 16 or so homeowners that were placed on evacuation notice if the river continued to rise. There was some flooding on some the roads.

In Spring runoff, many of these low lying areas do flood, and flooding has been seen in years past from ice jams on the Bulkley.

Also residents are being advised to stay away from the river as it is extremely dangerous.

Steelhead And Winter Ice Fishing In And Around Houston British Columbia (12 Pictures)

Above Photo: Fulton river which flows into Babine Lake, British Columbia's longest natural lake at Granisle, B.C.. Picture was taken on New Year's Day, January 1, 2016.

Houston, British Columbia is known around the world for a good number of things, such as Canada’s largest fly fishing rod and one of two grizzly bears that were killing cattle around Hungry Hill.

Also we have the “beautiful” Steelhead Park which runs along Highway 16 through Houston.

In the park there is the Steelhead fountain where you can sit peacefully enjoying the day.

Another popular attraction is the Wolf Totem Pole which is in the park.

In summer there are numerous beds of blooming flowers of different types and well manicured grass. The park is truly Houston’s well known gem.

Ice Circle Filmed On The Old Man River Lethbridge Alberta (Pictures)

From Brian Vike’s UFO Files.

Date: Approximately: February/March 2003
Time: Daytime when filmed.

To the best of my knowledge, these photos were taken February/March of 2003 and the location was at the Old Man River, Lethbridge, Alberta.

I could probably provide the g.p.s. coordinates if you desire.

I know someone who, on a different occasion has seen small chrome orbs above the river, upriver of this circle, but not related to this circle.

I have personally seen what would be best described as a "Nordic" very tall, albino, long hair, no recognizable facial features, void of mouth eyes nose, just a blank face and acted very strange, again, not related to this circle.

Thank you to the person for sending along the information and photos.

If anyone has had a UFO/UFOs sighting, please send me an email at sighting@telus.net or fill out the online UFO report form at http://sightings1.yolasite.com/ with details of what you saw.

Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Vike Factor Note: I do receive sighting reports from all over the world, and I post all of the reports I receive here: http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/

Shaft Of Orange Light Seen In The Sky Over Edmonton Alberta (Case Solved – Light Pillar Ice Crystals)

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.

Vike Factor Note: Recently a number of sighting reports came from folks who reside in Edmonton, Alberta. People reported seeing a strange vertical bright orange beam of light in the sky over Edmonton Alberta.

I wasn’t sure what the people were/had seen so I started looking around the internet to see if there was a reasonable explanation for what was observed.

For me, two ideas came up, one thought was that people may have seen an “Aurora/Northern Lights” and the other possibly was a “Light Pillar”.

Image Left: Picture taken of a shaft of orange light. The name for this is a “Light Pillar”.

After researching a little more, I found that the “Light Pillar” was going to make more sense as to the cause for this sighting that took place on January 11, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

I therefore, wrote an email to the Telus World of Science – Edmonton, Alberta and the Edmonton Sun newspaper. I was hoping one or both parties might be able to help in solving this mystery.

First thing Monday morning I received a nice response from Mr. Frank Florian B.Sc., B.Ed from the Telus World of Science and he confirmed my thoughts on the light as being, a “Pillar of Light”

Below is Mr. Frank Florian’s reply to me:

Hi Brian, you are correct in your assumption that the effect of the vertical shaft of light was due to ice crystals.  We just had a cold front move into the Edmonton area bringing temperatures down to below -20 Celcius and many individuals saw various atmospheric effects from the ice crystals that formed in the air, everything from Sun pillars and Parry Arcs during the day to light pillars off street lights and other bright light sources in the evening.

Here is an email I received from a fellow Royal Astronomical of Canada (RASC) Edmonton Centre member who took a photograph of a Sun pillar and Parry arc with a website that describes the phenomenon:

Vike Factor Note: Here is the website address, but I have not included the photo.

Member of the Royal Astronomical of Canada (RASC) comment: I took this at 4:06 January 15, 2012. Sun pillar capped with a Parry arc. More about Parry arcs here: http://www.atoptics.co.uk/halo/parry1.htm

Also below, is another sighting report on the vertical light with photos and eye witness filmed.

Date:  January 11, 2012
Time:  Approx: 11:30 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Orange vertical light in sky, looked like the sky was opening up. It was really bright, almost pulsating. Too big to be a ship I think, but it was defiantly unexplainable at least to me.

I took two pictures, but they are really grainy as my camera is not made for night time.

Date:  December 9, 2005
Time:  (?)

Full Description of event/sighting: I have pictures of mysterious ice circle which is 40 to 60 feet diameter, with a two inch deep v-groove surrounding it. It looks like something landed or is frozen in the ice.

I will send you pictures when I have your e-mail address. Everyone I have shown photos to is impressed with the mystery of this ice circle.

I am investigating this and could use some help. Check out photos then let me know what you think.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, the river comes in from the left, goes out the right, unsure how deep water is. The photo taken on December 10, 2005. Still investigating possibilities. What would you suggest?

Brian Vike’s Note: I have sent the photos and information to Paul Anderson at the CCCRN and I hope they will send out an investigator to look into this matter, as this is interesting and the fellow who discovered the ice ring is also looking for an answer to what caused this.

Also if anyone else has noticed these ice rings, or ice circles, would be please contact me and if you have taken photos, I would love to see them as well.

Thank you to the man who found the ice circle and the photos are copyright to him, which is stated on each of the photos.

Bright Light From Above Shines On Kids Ice Skating Milburn Lake, B.C.

Date: 1977 - 1978 ?
Time: After dark.

The second strange thing to happen there was again with the same two friends. We were ice skating on Milburn Lake in or about 1977 or 1978, it was after dark and were about to head in of the ice when a bright white light shone down on us, at first we thought it was a parent with a flashlight come to collect us for the night. After a few seconds we realized the light was shinning straight down. I don't have to tell you how fast three scared kids can move.
