Eyewitness Drives Directly Underneath Saucer Shaped UFO Winnipeg Manitoba (Audio Interview)
From Brian Vike’s UFO Files.
The Vike Report.
Date: February 4, 1996
Time: 11:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: TransCanada Highway #1 at MB highway #5 intersection.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Saucer.
Full Description of event/sighting: I've seen what I would consider to be actual UFO's three times in my life, one during the day and two nighttime sightings. This isn't counting odd lights or some object that is so far away it could be anything, which I have also witnessed on several occasions, these were actual craft that I could see clearly.
The most memorable encounter of the three happened on the night of February 4, 1996 at about 11:00 p.m. at night. While driving on the main highway in rural Manitoba one night, I drove directly underneath a saucer-shaped UFO hovering about 50 feet above the road.
At the time I was living in Brandon and the man I was dating lived in Winnipeg, about 200 km away. Every Friday night after work I would make the two hour drive into Winnipeg and then return home Sunday night, usually leaving around 9:00 p.m..
I would invariably be tired and anxious to get home, so the bright street lights at the Carberry intersection at Highway 5 on the TransCanada Highway (a.k.a. the #1) was always a landmark that I watched for because it meant I only had half an hour left before I was home.
On this particular night it was quite cold (although not abnormally so for February in Manitoba) and I had left Winnipeg at around 9:30 p.m.. After checking my watch and doing some calculations I was thinking that by the time I hit the intersection it would be almost exactly 11:00 p.m., which meant I would be home by 11:30 p.m.. Having driven this stretch of highway often I knew exactly when to expect to be able to see the Carberry lights.
As they came into view, I noticed immediately that there were two other lights hovering just above the familiar streetlights. I kept watching these lights as I drove towards them and they didn't move at all, up or down or side to side. I simply couldn't imagine what they could be.
I later calculated that from the time I first saw the lights to the time I reached the intersection was about 7 km, so they were in my line of vision continuously for approximately 4-5 minutes before I reached them. As I got closer I could tell that these lights were hovering about 10-15 feet above the height of the streetlights.
If the poles are approximately 30 feet and the UFO was 15 feet above them, that would make it only about 50 feet off the ground, extremely close. As I approached the intersection I could tell that whatever this thing was, it was on the other side of the streetlights so I couldn't really see anything more than a dark saucer shape as I drove through the intersection because of the glare from the streetlights.
It wasn't until I was completely through the intersection could I look up and clearly see the UFO. I was driving in the passing lane because as I was coming up to the intersection there was a white van in the right hand lane that wasn't traveling quite as fast as I was, so I was in the left lane, or passing lane, going by it (the #1 is a divided highway).
We were traveling fairly close together as we passed through the intersection, so I know someone else had to be seeing what I was seeing. I also saw two other vehicles on the other side of the highway headed east towards Winnipeg and knew that they must be seeing this thing too.
I had kept my eye on the object the entire time as I got closer to it because I knew it had to be something very unusual. As I drove through the intersection and got past the glare, it suddenly came into sharp view. I was going to drive directly underneath it, it was right in front of me.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was round and flat, the typical "flying saucer" shape. I couldn't see the top of it of course as I was now quite close to it, but the bottom was very clear. The two lights that I had seen as I was approaching it were on the bottom of the craft and were different colours, but I honestly can't remember what they were, blue and white or yellow, I believe. There was also a third light (this one was red, if I remember correctly) that I had been unable to see until I was closer.
I remember thinking at the time that the craft perhaps had been tilted slightly towards the west with the side that was furthest from me (as I approached it) being slightly higher and that was why I hadn't seen the third light until then, or perhaps the convex bottom had prevented me from seeing it earlier.
The lights were set in a triangular pattern equidistant from each other. It was hovering over the left lane of the westbound highway, not in the middle, so my car drove directly underneath. As I looked up at it through the windshield I thought how it looked just like something out of a movie. It was metallic, dark but shiny, reflecting the lights from below. It was covered with what looked like machinery of some sort, all curvy tubes and pipes, all over the bottom of it except around the edge.
It was approximately 35-40 feet across and I did not hear any noise emanating from it (but I was traveling at about 90 km per hour so the road noise may have drowned out any subtle sounds it may have been making). As I mentioned it was only about 50 feet above me so I got a really good, close look at it, and the light from the intersection was illuminating it quite well.
I have wished heartily ever since that I had stopped that night but I didn't, for several reasons. First, it was late and I was tired and I had to be at work at 7:00 the next morning so I really wanted to get home to bed. Secondly, it was the middle of winter and it was, as I said earlier, fairly cold.
Also, I was by myself and was a little frightened by what I was seeing if I had been with someone else I probably would have been braver. And I was in the passing lane and the white van was still too close for me to change lanes again safely, and you shouldn't stop on the shoulder of the passing lane. However, I did get a really good look as I drove towards it and then under it.
It may or may not be pertinent to note that there is a Canadian Forces army base in Shilo about 25 miles southwest of this intersection.
Anyway, that's what I saw that night. I did arrive home at 11:30 p.m., so there was no weird time loss or anything like that. I'd be interested to know if anyone else reported seeing anything there that night, as there were definitely other witnesses.
The audio interview was done with Brian Vike of The Vike Factor.

Bright Object Cylindrical And Round At Times In The Sky Over Central Winnipeg Manitoba

Date: February 20, 2015
Time: Approximately 7:00 p.m.
Light right now south of the moon. It appears to be spinning slowly.
Additional Information:
It was a cylindrical at times, more round at times, very bright object, to the south of the moon, at moon rise. It is in the western sky viewed from central Winnipeg, Manitoba at approximately 7:00 p.m.
I viewed the object, as did my son (23 years), for at least 30 minutes. It appeared to have a design at times, and spots of light, white and red, also rimmed in green, briefly.
I was thinking it may be a projection, but there was no light from below.

Orange Red Lights/UFOs Spotted Over Winnipeg Manitoba

Date: September 1, 2014
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.
Winnipeg, Manitoba - Monday September 1, 2014 at about 9:30 p.m. est., myself, my wife and a friend first saw two orange/red lights travelling northwest to southeast at a high rate of speed (my guess 800 to 1000 mph).
They were moving in a straight line, one in front of the other on separate parallel courses and then one of them accelerated, passed the other like it was standing still and then accelerated again and vanished while the other maintained the same rate of speed until out of sight.
Then three more appeared from the same direction and travelled across the sky until out of sight. All of them were completely silent.
They were not Chinese lanterns and flew like nothing I've ever seen before, silent and very fast.
If anyone has witnessed the lights/objects, please send me an email with details of what you saw. Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Two Triangular UFOs Spotted In The Night Sky Over RM Rockwood 30km North Of Winnipeg Manitoba

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.
Date: 1976 (? - late 70s)
Time: 11:00 p.m. (? - or later)
Location of Sighting: RM of Rockwood 30km N of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Triangular.
Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: Just to let the witness and everyone know, I do not post anyone's personal information. The only time names are added is if the witness insists that their name be included in their sighting report, other than that, no private information is added to the reports.
Full Description of event/sighting: Please withhold my name from the story if you publish it on the site please.
I just read the Transcona Manitoba report (and letters) on your site. Oddly enough on the 8th of October on abovetopsecret (which I had just started posting on this month) I posted my story which took place in the late 1970s about 30km North of Winnipeg in the RM of Rockwood.
The Transcona triangle sighting reminded me eerily of my own sighting (although mine was at night) which would have occurred around the same year(s) proposed by the Transcona letter.
The following is my story:
Before I start, I'll explain my father was involved in rocketry, and worked in a rocket manufacturing plant located about 20 - 40 miles from my home in a rural area of the Canadian prairies. Because of this, I was quite familiar with seeing man-made aircraft including military aircraft etc., and I knew what they looked like at night.
One of the advantages I guess of having a father who worked in the military/industrial complex as it were I guess, is you have exposure and access to a lot of pictures, booklets, were taken to air-shows etc.
When I was young, about 14 or maybe 15, so this would be in the late 1970s, my brothers and I were allowed to stay up late as my Aunt and her daughters were over for a barbeque. It was a perfectly clear evening, but as it got later there wasn't much in particular for me (and the other kids who were "played out" and tired) to do.
So I began staring at the stars. While looking northward about oh say 35/40 degrees up from the horizon, I noticed a funny star, and when I looked closer, it was actually 3 stars in the form of a triangle. Only, it quickly dawned on me these weren't 3 separate stars, these were all part of one object that was rotating and the lights at the corners of the triangle rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, fairly slowly, and the object itself moved slowly left and then slowly right.
Then astonishingly, the ship zipped off. It crossed a good portion of the night sky in only a heartbeat. It was absolutely an incredible speed, unbelievable speed judging from the height of the object that would have been a huge distance to move. But I still managed to follow the movement (with some difficulty) and saw the object (still slowly rotating counter-clockwise).
The object stood stationary for a few moments, then whoosh, it went back to the relative position I had originally viewed it at. At this point I knew it was something not-of-this-earth and pushed my younger brother to go get the binoculars while I kept watch of the object.
By the time my brother got back the object had made a few shorter distance "hops" and by the time I put the binoculars in hand I just caught a new arrival, another object, a second set of triangle lights that came in (from nowhere it appeared?) and slowly joined the original.
Image Left: This photo "is not" what the folks saw, but rather an example of the two craft they did see.
Through the weak binoculars you could clearly see 3 distinct lights in the form of a triangle, and from time to time in the counter-clockwise rotation a light that seemed to come into view on top of the object (this was without a doubt a 3-dimensional object).
Both craft continued to come very close to one another. My mother at this time finally was curious as to what we were doing and came over to see what the fuss was.
She looked in the area of the sky my brother and I witnessed the objects in, but she didn't seem to see what we were trying to show her. Although I think she saw more than she let on, but wanted to not scare us, or she may have not caught a glimpse of the two objects spinning in the night sky.
She had been drinking most of the evening. At that point she decided we needed to call it an evening and get to bed. So we left the backyard and our vigil and did as we were told.
Growing up I remember some evenings waking up terrified in bed for no apparent reason as though I had a nightmare, but couldn't recall the dream. Some nights I would have an overwhelming irrational fear before going to bed as well.
I did have a morning when I awoke and experienced "sleep paralysis", I couldn't move although my brain was awake and I could see. I've noticed that this/these types of experiences sometimes occur to people who have witnessed UFO phenomena.
Anyways, it was that evening I knew, without a doubt that there is intelligent life outside of our little ball of dirt, and that they were visiting us. I have continued to watch the skies, and continue to catch glimpses now and then of things I can't easily explain.
Thank you to the eyewitness for the fascinating sighting report.

Wide Flat UFO With Red Lights Hovering In The Sky Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: March 23, 2012
Time: Between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Wide and flat.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Yesterday, I was driving down the 59 highway, going south towards Winnipeg, about 2 minutes away. I'm a big time UFO believer, and always glance at the sky.
Well when I glanced at the sky last night (partly cloudy), something stood out to me. There was a flat, wide object with blue green and red lights hovering in the sky. I watched it, because it didn't look like anything I've seen in the sky before.
As I watched this object hover, it started to fly very smoothly and somewhat fast to the right and above of where it was, but not far at all. Then all of a sudden, poof it was gone, just vanished out of no where!
This was an amazing experience and I assure you this was definitely no airplane. I can't wait to see what 2012 brings to earth.

3 Orange Lights In A V Pattern Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: February 11, 2012
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.
I live in St. B and last night around 7:30 p.m. as I let my dogs out in the back yard there were 3 lights in a V shape pattern over my home. I have never seen anything like this.
They moved like an airplane no noise. I ran back inside to get my cell phone to see if I could capture this on the camera. The pictures didn't really capture what I was seeing.
Would love to know what this was.

32 Orange Objects In The Sky Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: June – July of 2008
Time: 12:30 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 8
Number of Objects: 32
Shape of Objects: Circles.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Three years ago me my friends and my brother were sitting outside on my steps. I saw this orange light in the sky flying really slowly and it was also really low.
I said something to my friends and they thought I was seeing things. I then saw another one and another, that's when my friends started paying attention to me. Me and my friends then went on to the next street so we could see what was in the sky.
The orange lights in the sky were coming in pairs, sometimes triples and sometimes single. It was the weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life. Me and my friends were all yelling (what is that) (holy crap) we woke up my neighbors so I know more than 8 people seen these things.
My friend (girl) counted about 32 of the orange glowing lights. That's the best way I can describe them. They were orange lights with a glow around them. I know what I saw was not normal and I wish I would have had a video camera.
These orange lights were not lanterns or fireworks or what ever. These were defiantly something way beyond our abilities to make. I know this isn't the best description, but it was three years ago.
Today I felt like Googling what I saw that night and thought I would see if any one else on that night saw them. I truly believe that there is something not human out there. I never believed in UFO's until I saw for myself.
It was scary, but cool at the same time because who in there life time gets to see something so unreal. Also so many at one time. So believe me or not, this is what me and my friends and my brother saw.

Mile Long White/Blue Cigar Shaped UFO Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: May 25, 2011
Time: 8:30 p.m.
You mentioned if anyone else saw anything similar to the story I just read on your site, that you would like to know. Here it is. Winnipeg last night at exactly 8:30 pm May 25, 2011 I was outside in my back yard "Elmwood area". I was watching the planes doing rounds over my area which in its self was odd.
I noticed way up, miles overhead to the south that there was a huge cigar shaped object it appeared to be 1+ miles long and was glowing white/blue, it was moving extremely fast horizontally from west to east. It was in view for approximately 3 minutes then disappeared.
There was no trail behind it. There was 4 of us at home at the time and we all agreed that it was not a plane or a satellite. A few friends have suggested that maybe it was that Russian plane that's visiting Winnipeg, but I can discount that as that Russian plane was one of the planes doing round overhead and it was above Winnipeg, not South of Winnipeg.
I contacted the Winnipeg planetarium and they will be getting back to me. Thank-you.

Bright Orange Ball Over Matlock Lake Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: July 23, 2011
Time: Evening.
Hi Brian, I live in Matlock, along the shore of Lake Winnipeg. Last Saturday night, I walked to the pier to enjoy the still night with a full moon. A couple of other people were there. Suddenly we were all watching a bright orange ball moving west to east over the lake, at 2:30 from the horizon (horizon being 3 and 9).
No sound at all, although it seemed close enough to hear it if it was a plane. The glow was in the front of it, as it moved, but it wasn’t on fire, it wasn’t falling. It was going much too fast for a plane or satellite. As it crossed the lake it just disappeared, it didn’t fade out of sight. There, not there.
Any thoughts? I have tracked down footage of very similar online, from many locations in the worlds. I think it was a UFO. That’s my best guess.

Two Orange Lights Over Assiniboine Park Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: August 19, 2011
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.Hi Brian, myself my wife and a friend were at Assiniboine Park yesterday evening around 9:30 pm August 19, 2011 and watched 2 orange lights travel cross the sky for about minute before they went out of sight behind trees. Here is some information on them.
They did not flicker.
They did not make a sound that we could hear.
There were no other lights (as a plane would have), just single orange lights. The lights were larger (about 2 or 3 times as large) than lights on a plane would appear.
They were following each other in a straight line at exactly the same speed, but were very far apart so it was clearly 2 objects not one long one.
The one at the rear suddenly disappeared in an instant (or turned off its light). They were travelling about the speed of a plane so it was definitely not balloons.
This afternoon I just Googled 'orange lights Winnipeg' to see if anyone else had perhaps seen them and came across numerous sites that mention orange lights in Winnipeg. Interesting.

Large Bright UFO Hovers Over Peoples Homes And Bends T.V. Antennas At Winnipeg Manitoba
From the Vike Factor archives (Brian Vike) http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/
Date: 1966
Time: 2:00 a.m.
Full Description of event/sighting: I was about 8 and I remember my dad reading aloud a story in The Winnipeg Free Press about a woman awakening in the middle of the night and seeing a large bright light hovering over a house across her street in Charleswood. It was there for a while and also seen by several other neighbors.
It then moved to different roof tops. Upon inspection in the morning it was found some of the houses T.V. antennas were bent or distorted. This was around 1966. Charleswood at the time was just a tiny sub-division on the very western edge of Winnipeg. Do any of your readers remember this or have any further info.

Orange Ball Of Light Looked Like A Glass Ball Of Fire Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: January 6, 2011
Time: 10:43 p.m.
Hi Brian, I saw something on January 6 at 10:43 p.m. in Winnipeg Manitoba that looked like an orange ball of light similar in color to the old street lights, but more orange in color and with a weird glow or glass like haze to it. Like a glass ball with a fire burning.
It was traveling west over Winsor park and then made about a 45 degree turn south and continued over south dale, St. vital and eventually disappeared on the horizon.. It made no sound and was flying below the clouds but was extremely difficult to gauge at what distance it was from my position. It flew from east to west and then turned south until it disappeared over the horizon. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for this again and will keep a video camera handy.
It made no sound and it was extremely difficult to guess how big or at what distance it was. Fast Moving Object West Over McMeans Ave E In Transcona Winnipeg Manitoba
Time: Approx: 7:15 p.m.
Hi there, my name is (name removed) and I thought I’d drop you a line because there are some similarities of what I saw this past Friday November 12, 2010 night at approximately 7:15pm. I was travelling west on McMeans Ave E in Transcona.
My wife and brother-in-law were with me in the car, but they did not see what I did because it happened so fast. Whatever I saw was travelling sort of northeast and was very low. Again this happened very fast, but it looked tubular like a cigar, but not nearly as long as what you describe.
If I had to guess it was probably over 50’, but less than 100’ and did have some lights (red and I believe blue). I cannot be sure if they were flashing because it took about a second or so to cross my view path ( a good amount of sky). Of course I had to think it was a fighter jet or something, but I could not believe how fast it was moving especially how close it was to the earth (200 feet approximately maybe less).
It seemed to be moving almost effortlessly. We were having conversation at the time, so the music was not loud or on at all as I can remember. I just think that even if it were a plane of some sort it was very low… wouldn’t we have been able to hear something. I cannot stress how fast this object was moving!
In all fairness all windows were up in the vehicle at the time, but I have had fighter jets fly over my house at about the same altitude (Last Grey Cup) and I could hear them loud and clear.
I have never seen anything like this and have only crossed your path because I was/am searching some sort of explanation for what I saw. Who knows? Feel free to drop me a line if you think there is anything here. I am an educated family man who has never seen anything like this nor have I ever claimed to. Sincerely.

Reddish Orange Ball Over Transcona Winnipeg
Date: October 22, 2010
Time: 7:33 p.m.October 22, 2010 at 7:33 pm we were driving west on Kildare halfway between McMeans and Redonda. My wife said look at that. I stopped the car because what I saw was very strange. In the sky was a reddish orange ball traveling very slowly from North to South.
There were no red and green lights similar to an airplane. There was absolutely no sound. It slightly changed direction directly above us, the moon light was very bright that evening and for an instant I saw what appeared to be a slightly triangular shape with 2 points instead of a single point in the front.
The orange glow was in the middle of the shape and appeared to glow upward. We watched it for at least 3 minutes, then it disappeared.

Round Orange Ball Over Transcona Winnipeg
Date: October 10, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:15 p.m.
Hi, last night I was walking eastbound in Transcona in Winnipeg about 9:15 pm (Sunday October 10, 2010) I happened to look up at the night sky, and noticed a round shaped orange ball moving slowly in the sky going northeast to the south. I didn't have my glasses on, but I was able to see the colour and shape clearly, and watched it for about 5 minutes until it disappeared through the trees etc.
It was very different from anything I had ever seen before. I was going to take a picture with my cell, but by the time I thought of it, it was too late. Did you hear from anyone else with similar sightings?

Orange Balls Of Light Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: October 10, 2010
Time: Evening.Hi Brian, I came across your story about seeing a strange orange ball of light moving across the sky in July here http://canadaufo.blogspot.com/2010/07/burning-orange-red-ball-makes-strange.html after doing a Google search about orange balls of light in the sky over Winnipeg. Last night (October 10) my boyfriend and I were basically right where the Perimeter meets Waverly, and I happened to look up at the horizon, where there was a bright orange ball of light. At first, I thought it was a star, but then we both noticed it was moving.
We watched it travel southwest across the sky until it was above us, then looked away at a plane, then back again but the orange ball was gone. It just disappeared. Have there been many other sightings like this? Any clue as to what it might be, or did we see a genuine UFO? Either way, it's pretty neat in my opinion. Please get back to me as your earliest possible convenience, and thanks for taking the time to read my message.

Mile Long Cigar Shaped UFO Over Interlake Manitoba Winnipeg Beach Area
Date: August 29, 2010
Time: 8:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Interlake Manitoba (Winnipeg Beach Area).
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Long (cigar shaped).
Full Description of Event/Sighting: On Sunday August 29, 2010 my daughter and I were outside on our deck, when she noticed something in the sky. She pointed it out to me, I then called my husband to see it. The object was climbing into the sky and very large, relative size about a yard.
Actual size maybe a mile long. Object was a white-orange colour. No blinking lights and no exhaust. Object was coming from over the trees, but very far away. We could see it climbing into the sky very clearly because of the size.
We watched object for about 10-15 minutes until we could no longer see it. The object came from the west and went north after it had passed the cloud line. I have not seen anything this close to the earth or this large before. I have noticed other objects in the sky before and they all are heading north, curious isn't it.

Burning Orange Red Ball Makes Strange Maneuver Over Winnipeg Manitoba
Date: July 9, 2010
Time: Approx: 11:40 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Round.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: A friend and I were sitting outside having a fire. It was a clear night full of stars. I just so happened to look up at the right moment and this burning orange/red ball was flying overhead. I told my buddy to look and check it out, he was already looking. We just kept asking ourselves what was that? It flew across the sky to the northeast.
Then from what it looked like, it took a sharp upward movement and vanished. I figured it was a meteor, but it didn't burn up. About a half hour to an hour later. We noticed a very bright white ball above us. It was moving for about 2 minutes, then just faded out.
