Unexplained Hovering Being Over Large Pond In Corner Brook Newfoundland (Written Report/Audio Interview)
From Brian Vike's UFO Files.
The Vike Report.
I decided to re-write this story to include more details and to correct the mistake I made in my estimated distances. I was out yesterday at the pond with someone and got a better estimation of distance.
This experience took place in late May, 1999 in a logged out valley 5 minutes outside the small city of Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I was out for a solo hike in the mid afternoon of a warm, overcast (no fog) calm day.
I have been living in Newfoundland since 1994 and have spent a great deal of time walking/skiing/camping/biking in this particular valley and have never had any experiences similar to this one.
Before I describe what I saw I will state that I am rational, lucid individual with no history of hallucinations. I work in the health care field and have, I would say, a strong foundation in critical thinking skills. I have no opinion of what it was that I saw. All I can do is describe my experience and try to convey a degree of the shock and disbelief that I experienced before and after the event.
After hiking for about an hour I reached the top of one of the low mountains at the edge of the cut line and was about to enter the woods when I felt this strong sense of uneasiness.
The fear seemed unwarranted so I kept going and I was again struck by an even stronger sense of discomfort so I turned around and took a short cut back out. I scrambled down the face of the low mountain and across a large bog and hiked out the majority of the path.
When I was about 5 minutes from the car I decided to turn up a different path which led to a pond about 2 minutes up a small dirt track.
The "front" of this pond is exposed and open, but the remaining 3/4 of the pond is surrounded by spruce trees that continue behind and around the pond.
I have spent countless hours sitting by this pond where I watch the beavers and their babies in the spring swimming and playing. As I was walking up the dirt track I stared straight ahead and was approaching the pond on my right side and as I reached the pond I noticed something out the corner of my eye.
Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see. I turned and there unobstructed, approximately 7 meters directly in front of me was a tall white humanoid figure floating just above the surface of the water, roughly in the middle of the pond. The figure was by my estimation, about 7 feet tall, dressed in a white suit that was consistent from head to toe.
The suit was not form fitting nor was it overly loose and had no designation or writing on it. The head was covered by what appeared to be a helmet that also seemed to be consistent with the suit. The hands appeared to have 10 digits, though I didn't count, and were covered in what appeared to be gloves, again consistent with the suit.
Also, this may sound strange and it's difficult to explain, but the figure appeared to have a soft glow around it, like it was radiating some light. The suit was gleaming white and the face area was covered by a dark shield.
The contrast of the gleaming white against the dark water and the dark woods behind the figure is what initially caught my attention. I would estimate that I stood in front of this figure, staring and observing for roughly 10 seconds before I felt physically able to run in the opposite direction. The figure appeared to be in a trance like state and floated motionless over the water "standing" in anatomical position (palms facing forward), legs slightly apart and head looking forward.
As soon as I turned to run I saw movement out the corner of my eye and then immediately heard the very clear sound of branches breaking on the far opposite shore. I didn't look back and began running for my life, as I was beyond terrified ( and quite frankly, had no desire to ever see it again). My body was coursing with adrenaline and don't think I have ever run so fast in all my life. I was shocked by how quickly I heard branches breaking and how there was no sound of splashing water, not so much as one splash.
I got back to my car and sped back to town and sat in my house wondering what to do, who to call, who to tell? This was the hardest part, not having anyone to talk to about this. These experiences can be incredible, but they can also be very isolating. How do you bring these things up in conversation?
"Nice weather we're having today...by the way, you'll never guess what I saw on my walk the other day....". It's for this reason I have only shared this story with a few people whom I trust. Now, after years of wondering I've decided to share it and see if there are any other people who may have seen something similar.
I have spent years trying to rationalize what it was that I saw, what I could have mistaken it for. I have come to this conclusion--- nothing can account for what I saw. This figure was real, it was alive, in close proximity to me and displaying abilities that I can't understand.
I realize this all sounds like science fiction, but it's not. You may not know me but I am taking the time to write this out because I think it's important for people to share experiences like this with others. I have included pictures of the pond where this took place (I still continue to walk there). If anyone has any questions or have had similar encounters, I would be very interested in hearing from you.
The audio interview was done with Brian Vike of The Vike Factor.
Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: I did a telephone interview with a awesome lady who related seeing a hovering being over a large pond in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The interview is 31 mbs in size and is 23 minutes in length.

Orange Colored Lights/Objects Seen In The Sky From Corner Brook Newfoundland

Date: September 6, 2014
Time: 11:50 p.m.
Number of Objects: One moving orange light and a few minutes later a formation in a diamond shape of 4 orange lights. standing still
Shape of Objects: Numerous.
Colour of Object: Orange.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: At 11:50 p.m. I was leaving my house to pickup my son at work. When locked the door of my house, I noticed a non blinking orange light to my right moving very slowly in the sky approximately 700 to 1000 feet in the sky.
My first thought, is what am I looking at here. There was no sound as the orange light kept moving from the south to north towards me.
It appeared to be following the transmission line between Confederation Drive and MacPherson Avenue. I observed the moving light for approximately 1 minute before it went behind a tree from my view.
Since my son got off work at mid-night I got in my car and proceeded to his location. On route proceeding south on Confederation Drive I was scanning the sky for this orange object.
It was then I noticed the formation of 4 non blinking lights to my left about 5,000 to 7,000 feet in the sky above Dennis GM auto dealership.
These 4 orange lights were not moving. I observed them for a minute and then continued on to pick-up my son. After picking up my son he informed that they lost internet service around 11:15 p.m. and was still not operating when he left work.
I told him about what I had seen in the sky and we proceeded to return to the area where I had last seen the 4 standing orange lights.
This all occurred in a time frame of approximately three minutes. The orange lights were not there. A couple of nights later I received a call from my son around 10:00 p.m. informing me to look over the bay as he and a friend were observing a single orange light on the hills on the north shore of the Bay of Islands.
From my advantage point I could not see them. On the 16th December a low flying military flight flew over Corner Brook around noon time.
The flight was very close to the path of the single orange light I had observed moving in the sky on September 6, 2014 and after flying this path it banked to the left and flew low over the north side of the bay where my son and friend had observed the single orange light.
The following day a picture of the plane banking to the left was in the newspaper, the Western Star. It was reported that the military flight was a C130 cargo plane.
The plane I saw did not look like a cargo plane to me. My son did not see the flight, but the picture he saw in the newspaper appeared to be a military C140, search and rescue plane which he says contains all kinds of surveillance equipment .
What do you make of this ?

Newfoundland’s Huge UFO Event - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police And Media Involved – Unexplained (Audio Interviews)

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.
Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I have put together a few interviews from folks I spoke to and the RCMP I also talked to and the media into one clip. There were multiple sightings of this “UFO” across Newfoundland. This was a major UFO event !
This sighting by multiple witnesses is still unexplained.
At the end of this report, an audio report can be listened to.
Date: January 16, 2005
Time: 4:47 p.m.
On Sunday, January 16, 2005 in Valleyfield, Newfoundland on a clear day Jim and Rod Howell were traveling down the road when they spotted a diamond shaped object in the sky. The men pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road, got out and watched the unusual sight.
Jim said they observed the object for approximately 2 minuets, it was about 300 feet in altitude off the ground and moving slowly towards the northeast. Jim describes the object as being shaped like a diamond or an old fashioned box kite. It had blue and white coloring and it was black on it's bottom. The object measured roughly 15 feet in length and 8 feet across. There was no sound heard coming from the unknown object.
On Sunday, January 16, 2005 the object was seen in the community of Dover, Newfoundland and a week prior to this incident the same object was witnessed in Marystown, Newfoundland on January 12, 2005. What ever this thing is, it appeared to be making it's way north across the Island.

Brian Vike at The Vike Factor has been talking with Constable Vicki Colford from the RCMP detachment in Valleyfield, Newfoundland. She has been extremely helpful and is also looking for answers to the many reports that have been reported to her and myself. Constable Vicki Colford also has contacted NAV Canada, Environment Canada, Search and Rescue for Newfoundland and the media told her about the US Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which were up from the United States and carrying out some testing in the area. All these agencies told the RCMP they had no aircraft flying in the areas on January 16, 2005.
Constable Vicki Colford also mentioned that NTV news interviewed Jim and Rod Howell and herself for the 6:00 p.m. television news which aired January 19, 2005. Also VOCM radio news Newfoundland ran the story and took calls from eyewitnesses on their nightly open line radio program on the same date as above.
The RCMP officer told me that possibly after the story had ran on the news they might receive reports from different areas across Newfoundland which may give a more accurate tracing of the direction the object traveled. She went on to say it was seen in Dover at approximately 3:30 p.m. and her location in Valleyfield at about 4:47 p.m. If the object did keep traveling along on it's straight flight path it would have traveled through Grander and beyond.
RCMP Constable Vicki Colford mentioned that Jim Howell knew right away the object wasn't an airplane, parachute or anything easily explained. Vicki Colford tells me she was stumped after she took the report and after receiving a number of reports from area residents she is still stumped as to what this thing is.
Constable Vicki Colford said 10 people in Valleyfield witnessed the object, two people saw it in Dover which is about an hours drive north from Valleyfield and Vicki Colford received a call from another RCMP Constable from Marystown who told her he took a call from a witness who observed the object in the Marystown area on Wednesday, January 12, 2005.
Below are some of the eyewitnesses reports.
Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland
Date: January 12, 2005
Time: 7:00 a.m.
A husband and wife of Grand Bank, Newfoundland witnessed an object around the Burin Peninsula area.
The couple were travelling to St. John's last Wednesday, when they saw the object near Red Harbour on the main Burin Peninsula Highway.
Image Right: Shows location for Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland
The retired Newfoundland Power employee, says they had just topped Red Harbour Hill about 15 kilometers north of Marystown around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 12, 2005. They were heading North on the Main Highway when the object appeared from the east. The witness says they didn't see the object go off into the distance. He said it was there and then it was gone. Similar to the sighting in New-Wes-Valley.
The January 12, 2005 sighting has many similarities to the January 16, 2005 sighting in the area.
Mount Pearl, Newfoundland Round Ball Of Light
Date: January 12, 2005
Time: Approx. 5:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: round ball of light
Full Description of event/sighting: We just came back from sliding and I looked up and saw a round ball of light, it hovered for a few seconds then took off really fast and disappeared. It was too early to be a shooting star because it wasn't dark out and there were no other stars or street lights on.
Image Left: Location for Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.
Hello, the answers to your questions are the weather conditions were a clear night and some clouds in the sky with no wind. the UFO was located in the east and somewhere in-between. The entire event lasted about 5 seconds in total time observed. The appearance of the UFO is the shape was a round ball of light and I can't specially say how high it was and it had no sound what so ever.
Sandy Cove, Newfoundland
Date: January 16, 2005
Another reported sighting of an unidentified flying object on the island. A gentleman in Sandy Cove was with some friends when they saw, what they thought was a weather balloon on Sunday afternoon. He says the object rose through the sky, then descended into the tree line, eventually landing on the ground. He says a few minutes later the object took off into the sky again.
New-Wes-Valley, Newfoundland (Valleyfield)
Date: January 16, 2005
Time: 4:47 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: round
Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian, I heard this fascinating story today from my neighbour and his son in-law. There names are Jim and Rod.
Yesterday Jim and Rod were driving home west of Valleyfield and through town when they noticed an object approaching from the southwest going northeast. It was around 4:47 p.m. and not quite dark. The object was very visible to the naked eye.
It was moving at a fast rate of speed, from the right side of the vehicle and in front of the truck. The object was about 300 to 400 feet above ground. It was a round object, approximately 8 to 10 feet in diameter and about 15 feet high.
They described it as being like a huge "paint can", completely round. The color was a bluish/red and it was seen for about a minute or more. It passed in front of them. It flew over the water from the right and over a follows house. It then flew over a hill and down again and out of sight.
There was no sound coming from it and no tail/trail following behind like a meteor would appear to have. There were absolutely no wings on it. They knew what they saw and when they arrived home they phoned the RCMP to report their sighting.
I was told today that the RCMP did go to the site where the incident took place and looked around. As far as I know there was nothing witness by the RCMP.
They have no explanation of who or what it was. To me its a classic UFO case.
This is a funny thing because my friend (name removed) who's Jims brother brought out our local paper for this week (The Gander Beacon) and there's a story of a UFO case that happened in March of last year.
Coincidence, I guess you could call it. So, I've decided to send you this story and I'm sure you will want to follow it up. You can contact me by email or by phone. I am an avid reader of the UFO subject myself. I read all kinds of stories and I am fascinated by it all.
I'm sure if you made contact with other witnesses you will receive a detailed picture of what they saw. If you need someone to contact, please let me know as I'll be glad to help out. All the very best.
To listen to the audio interview that Brian Vike did with the eyewitnesses and RCMP.

Red Light Spotted Twice Over Bonavista Peninsula Newfoundland
Date: February 5, 2012 and February 11, 2012
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m. and approximately 9:00 p.m.
My father seen this similar light at his cabin on February 5, 2012 at approximately 9:30 p.m. His cabin is located on the Bonavista Peninsula. I am a truck driver and after he told me about this I was keeping my eye open all that week, and then on February 11, 2012 I started heading down the Bay d'Espoir Highway at approximately 9:00 p.m.
I noticed this red light out my passenger side window, something that is really out of place and would catch your eye, I pulled off the road at a lookout and watched the light for some 20 minutes. I noticed that the light was moving around the sky like it was hovering there.
I looked at stars in the sky to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me, but they weren’t. I continued to watch the light move back and forth across the sky and then it just faded away.
I knew it was not a plane as there were 2 planes in the sky at the same time and it looked nothing like a plane.
It seemed like it was very low to the ground.

Formation Of 4 Bright Orange Lights Over Corner Brook Newfoundland
Date: December 25, 2011
Time: Evening.
Hi Brian, I live in Corner Brook Newfoundland and last night, December 25, 2011, I witnessed 4 bright orange lights in the sky which seemed to be similar to what you saw in the sky in Edmonton the night before.
These lights were in a box shaped formation and then slowly change to other formations and eventually moved to a stacked vertical formation. After they moved to a vertical position, they faded off.
My husband, brother and I watched the lights for at least 15 minutes. My brother is a pilot and he knew they weren't lights from an airplane. Even though they were changing formations they hovered in the same location for that time period.
I called the RCMP immediately to report the sighting of the lights, but they said up to that point no one else had called. I then checked the internet for bright oranges lights in the sky and came upon your blog.
Regards.

Red Light Spotted Over Corner Brook Newfoundland
Date: November 9, 2011
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.
On November 9th 2011 at around 9:30 p.m. Myself and a co-worker witnessed a red object moving across the sky in Corner Brook, NL.This object had no blinking lights what so ever. It stayed a solid red. We watched this object for a good 10 minutes until it simply vanished.
It was a clear night and the stars were very visible where this object kind of went dim and then simply vanished. This object was round, red, it did not blink or change colour. It appeared to start to move of course twice only to correct itself and continue in the direction it was traveling.
It was not a plane as there was a plane in the sky flying away from this object. The lights were flashing and it was very visible it was a plane. This other object was unique and nothing I’ve ever seen or witnessed. Myself and my friend were in awe to say the least at what we were seeing.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Red Neon Luminous Light/UFO Observed Off The Coast Of Newfoundland Canada
Date: 1975
Time: 2:00 a.m.Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Red neon (luminous) light.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: One summer night I slept in my old Canadian Rambler, at around 2:00am I awoke, sat up, and thought of going back in the house which I did. But, before that I noticed something spectacular. There was this red neon light that was drawing zigzagging lights in the dark sky beyond the horizon.
The red neon light moved slowly drawing a straight line then zig-zags down and went back and drew another straight line. The red luminous light did the same pattern just a few more times then disappeared.
The area where this occurred to my recollection is at the Gulf of St. Lawrence. I lived west of Newfoundland then, and to my left is the province Quebec in which the gulf separates us and so on. This red luminous light did not move fast, but I think it can.
I woke up that morning and told my mom what I saw that night and all she said was really! That is what I saw mom.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

The RCMP And Media Involved In A Major UFO Incident Over Newfoundland Canada
From the Vike Factor archives (Brian Vike) http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/
Audio interviews are not been added to this report as I have no where to place the mp3 clips.
Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I have another report in audio on the site, please look in the audio section of the website. I will be placing more audio reports up there as well. Including the NTV news clip, in audio as well. Also a report will be added shortly with photos of one person's idea of what the person believes caused the event.
Thank you to everyone for their reports and help.
Audio interviews are not been added to this report as I have no where to place the mp3 clips.
You can listen to Brian Vike interviewing witnesses and RCMP's involment.

Three Lights Observed Over Pouch Cove Newfoundland
Date: August 28, 2010
Time: Evening.
We experienced the same sighting earlier in the evening at Pouch Cove, there were 7 of us present and at least one video copy was taken.
Three lights slowly moved across the sky, then change alignment and disappeared. Lasted for about a minute, very surreal for us all.
I have forwarded your site to the two people who took cell phone video and pictures.
Please keep me posted.
Thank you.

Corner Brook, Newfoundland - Hovering Being Over Large Pond

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: This report is a re-post, more detail the witness provided along with a number of pictures she took of the area where the sighting took place. Pond area. Also I would like to point out that Jen will be joining me this Sunday night, May 6, 2007 on the Vike Report radio show I host. So be sure to tune in, very interesting story.
I have been living in Newfoundland since 1994 and have spent a great deal of time walking/ skiing/camping/biking in this particular valley and have never had any experiences similar to this one.

Thank you to Jen for the very interesting report and granting me an interview. Also she asked if anyone has had a similar encounter like she did, you are welcome to send your reports into me here at The Vike Factor and I am happy to forward your letter along to the lady.

Major UFO Incident Over Newfoundland - The RCMP, And Media Involved

Audio interview mp3 at the end of this report.
This sighting by multiple witnesses is still unexplained.

Thank you to everyone for their reports and help.
You can listen to Brian Vike interviewing witnesses and RCMP's involment.
