Newfoundland’s Huge UFO Event - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police And Media Involved – Unexplained (Audio Interviews)

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I have put together a few interviews from folks I spoke to and the RCMP I also talked to and the media into one clip. There were multiple sightings of this “UFO” across Newfoundland. This was a major UFO event !

This sighting by multiple witnesses is still unexplained.

At the end of this report, an audio report can be listened to.

Date: January 16, 2005
Time: 4:47 p.m.

On Sunday, January 16, 2005 in Valleyfield, Newfoundland on a clear day Jim and Rod Howell were traveling down the road when they spotted a diamond shaped object in the sky. The men pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road, got out and watched the unusual sight.

Jim said they observed the object for approximately 2 minuets, it was about 300 feet in altitude off the ground and moving slowly towards the northeast. Jim describes the object as being shaped like a diamond or an old fashioned box kite. It had blue and white coloring and it was black on it's bottom. The object measured roughly 15 feet in length and 8 feet across. There was no sound heard coming from the unknown object.

On Sunday, January 16, 2005 the object was seen in the community of Dover, Newfoundland and a week prior to this incident the same object was witnessed in Marystown, Newfoundland on January 12, 2005. What ever this thing is, it appeared to be making it's way north across the Island.

Image Left: Location of Dover, Newfoundland.

Brian Vike at The Vike Factor has been talking with Constable Vicki Colford from the RCMP detachment in Valleyfield, Newfoundland. She has been extremely helpful and is also looking for answers to the many reports that have been reported to her and myself. Constable Vicki Colford also has contacted NAV Canada, Environment Canada, Search and Rescue for Newfoundland and the media told her about the US Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which were up from the United States and carrying out some testing in the area. All these agencies told the RCMP they had no aircraft flying in the areas on January 16, 2005.

Constable Vicki Colford also mentioned that NTV news interviewed Jim and Rod Howell and herself for the 6:00 p.m. television news which aired January 19, 2005. Also VOCM radio news Newfoundland ran the story and took calls from eyewitnesses on their nightly open line radio program on the same date as above.

The RCMP officer told me that possibly after the story had ran on the news they might receive reports from different areas across Newfoundland which may give a more accurate tracing of the direction the object traveled. She went on to say it was seen in Dover at approximately 3:30 p.m. and her location in Valleyfield at about 4:47 p.m. If the object did keep traveling along on it's straight flight path it would have traveled through Grander and beyond.

RCMP Constable Vicki Colford mentioned that Jim Howell knew right away the object wasn't an airplane, parachute or anything easily explained. Vicki Colford tells me she was stumped after she took the report and after receiving a number of reports from area residents she is still stumped as to what this thing is.

Constable Vicki Colford said 10 people in Valleyfield witnessed the object, two people saw it in Dover which is about an hours drive north from Valleyfield and Vicki Colford received a call from another RCMP Constable from Marystown who told her he took a call from a witness who observed the object in the Marystown area on Wednesday, January 12, 2005.

Below are some of the eyewitnesses reports.

Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland

Date: January 12, 2005
Time: 7:00 a.m.

A husband and wife of Grand Bank, Newfoundland witnessed an object around the Burin Peninsula area.
The couple were travelling to St. John's last Wednesday, when they saw the object near Red Harbour on the main Burin Peninsula Highway.

Image Right: Shows location for Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland

The retired Newfoundland Power employee, says they had just topped Red Harbour Hill about 15 kilometers north of Marystown around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 12, 2005. They were heading North on the Main Highway when the object appeared from the east. The witness says they didn't see the object go off into the distance. He said it was there and then it was gone. Similar to the sighting in New-Wes-Valley.

The January 12, 2005 sighting has many similarities to the January 16, 2005 sighting in the area.

Mount Pearl, Newfoundland Round Ball Of Light

Date: January 12, 2005
Time: Approx. 5:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: round ball of light

Full Description of event/sighting: We just came back from sliding and I looked up and saw a round ball of light, it hovered for a few seconds then took off really fast and disappeared. It was too early to be a shooting star because it wasn't dark out and there were no other stars or street lights on.

Image Left: Location for Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.

Hello, the answers to your questions are the weather conditions were a clear night and some clouds in the sky with no wind. the UFO was located in the east and somewhere in-between. The entire event lasted about 5 seconds in total time observed. The appearance of the UFO is the shape was a round ball of light and I can't specially say how high it was and it had no sound what so ever.

Sandy Cove, Newfoundland

Date: January 16, 2005

Another reported sighting of an unidentified flying object on the island. A gentleman in Sandy Cove was with some friends when they saw, what they thought was a weather balloon on Sunday afternoon. He says the object rose through the sky, then descended into the tree line, eventually landing on the ground. He says a few minutes later the object took off into the sky again.

New-Wes-Valley, Newfoundland (Valleyfield)

Date: January 16, 2005
Time: 4:47 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: round

Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian, I heard this fascinating story today from my neighbour and his son in-law. There names are Jim and Rod.

Yesterday Jim and Rod were driving home west of Valleyfield and through town when they noticed an object approaching from the southwest going northeast. It was around 4:47 p.m. and not quite dark. The object was very visible to the naked eye.

It was moving at a fast rate of speed, from the right side of the vehicle and in front of the truck. The object was about 300 to 400 feet above ground. It was a round object, approximately 8 to 10 feet in diameter and about 15 feet high.

They described it as being like a huge "paint can", completely round. The color was a bluish/red and it was seen for about a minute or more. It passed in front of them. It flew over the water from the right and over a follows house. It then flew over a hill and down again and out of sight.

There was no sound coming from it and no tail/trail following behind like a meteor would appear to have. There were absolutely no wings on it. They knew what they saw and when they arrived home they phoned the RCMP to report their sighting.

I was told today that the RCMP did go to the site where the incident took place and looked around. As far as I know there was nothing witness by the RCMP.

They have no explanation of who or what it was. To me its a classic UFO case.

This is a funny thing because my friend (name removed) who's Jims brother brought out our local paper for this week (The Gander Beacon) and there's a story of a UFO case that happened in March of last year.

Coincidence, I guess you could call it. So, I've decided to send you this story and I'm sure you will want to follow it up. You can contact me by email or by phone. I am an avid reader of the UFO subject myself. I read all kinds of stories and I am fascinated by it all.

I'm sure if you made contact with other witnesses you will receive a detailed picture of what they saw. If you need someone to contact, please let me know as I'll be glad to help out. All the very best.

To listen to the audio interview that Brian Vike did with the eyewitnesses and RCMP.

Moricetown British Columbia Investigation Of Unknown Event

I did go to Moricetown, British Columbia on Friday, September 24, 2010 after receiving a phone call from a lady on the Thursday. Whatever happened in Moricetown, it took place on Tuesday 21, 2010. The reason why I was contacted so late was, they did not know who to contact until a friend of the lady who called gave her my phone number and she called.

I will have a full report on this, along with photos coming over the next week. From what I saw, and from what I was told by the owners of the property and others who lives in the area, also hearing about odd lights being seen in and around the area for about a week. I now wonder if this event is more UFO related.

The foot prints/tracks whatever one might call them as it was rather hard to see them due to the time period from finding these tracks and until I got there. Plus something else odd, which I have pictures for, an area of tall thistles were bent over and touching the ground, many others were bent over, but broken. This covered an area of 30 feet by 60 feet, everything else around the down tall plants were standing upright.

Anyway, a strange case. Something else, we lost alot of evidence due to the heaviest rainfall we have had for months. I was glad the folks thought to cover up one small area with some bits of plywood. So some interesting stuff coming this week sometime.

Almost forgot, where the prints were located on the lawn, the vegetation was changed, meaning whatever walked over it, it killed the grass weeds.

Take care

UFO Event - Granisle, Houston, Telkwa And Hazelton, British Columbia

All audio clips/Interviews are © 2009 to Brian Vike.

Audio Clip: Brian Vike did a quick audio clip to give an idea of what took place on November 29, 2007. So click on the following link for the audio.

Hazelton, British Columbia - Major UFO Sighting.

A little History on Hazelton, B.C. - Hazelton is a small town located at the junction of the Bulkley and Skeena Rivers in northern British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1866 and has a population of approximately, 1,356. New Hazelton is also the northern most point of the Yellowhead Highway, a major interprovincial highway which runs from Prince Rupert, British Columbia to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Hazelton area is comprised of two municipalities (the Village of Hazelton and District of New Hazelton), three unincorporated settlements (South Hazelton, Two Mile and the Kispiox Valley), and four First Nations’ Villages (Gitanmaax, Hagwilget, Glen Vowell and Kispiox).

On November 29, 2007 at 4:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m. on a ranch in Hazelton, British Columbia a man woke up in the early hours of the morning, looked out one of the windows of his home to spot something very unusual in the morning sky. He watched for a while then went and grabbed his spotting scope. What he witnessed through his scope took him by surprise. It was a huge ball of extremely bright white light, which turned out to be a "large" cigar shaped craft hovering in the sky over his ranch. The craft did move from time to time to a different part of the sky, but never really leaving the ranch area. At one point it moved over top of, and sat stationary half way down a mountain on the ranch called Roche Debulle. (Pictures of the mountain and ranch are included in this report which were provided by the witness's sister).

Hazelton, British Columbia UFO Sighting

Before I write down the eyewitness account of what was seen, I should note that the sister of the witness wrote an email to me over the event. She lives down on the lower mainland outside of Vancouver, B.C. In her email she told me the date of the sighting, which was on November 29, 2007 and the time was from 4:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m., which would have been daylight hours just before 9:00 a.m.

Her sister's email report to me was short as she gave her telephone number so I could call and talk to her personally about what her brother saw.

Below Photo: *This is the ridge that the gentleman first spotted the craft hanging just above the mountain. Looking North.*

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 7

Shape of objects: Cigar shape through spotting scope.

Sister's full description of event/sighting: Good morning Brian, I've never heard of you until my girlfriend found your site after I was telling her what happened the other night (which was up north here in Hazelton, British Columbia). I live in Ladner, BC. My brother lives in Hazelton. My brother called me at 5:00 a.m. and I was on the phone with him until approximately 8:00 a.m. He watched as a craft hovered low on his ranch for about 4 hours. Other crafts, a total of seven zipped all around, what we are calling the command ship which remained on the ranch and in plain view the entire time.

Below Photo: *This is the ranch facing north to the ridge.*

Her brothers phone number is (removed by Brian Vike) I tried calling the number on your 1 888 # but it seems to be a fax.

I (sister) can be reached at (phone number removed by Brian Vike). I will be available for a call all day today.

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: The lady's brother phoned and woke his sister up at 5:00 a.m. This shows how exciting and amazing the sighting was over the man's ranch, they both stayed on the telephone for 3 hours, finally hanging up and later just after 9:00 a.m. the brother called his sister back to say the objects had left the area. Fascinating !

I telephoned the fellow who witnessed a sighting of multiple objects in Hazelton and got his feedback on what was seen.

Below Photo: *This is the Ranch house. The window above is his bedroom where he first spotted them. (Them meaning the UFOs).*

The witness was at home on his ranch and had fallen asleep on his couch. At around 4:30 a.m. he woke up, but he told me he wasn't really asleep, more like just laying there hoping to catch a nap. The fellow decided to get up and head upstairs to his bedroom and flicked the TV on and immediately tuned it off and jumped into his bed. In his bedroom he has a large picture window which looks over his ranch. The man says it is beautiful land, as he can see his ranch, horses and Roche Debulle (mountain).

He said it was a clear night and he was looking up at the night sky when he saw 4 to 7 objects, which were up at a good altitude and had red and green lights on them. As he watched, and looking over towards a foothill on his ranch he noticed an extremely bright light which also was very large in size. The man watched it for a good period of time and eventually it moved over top his property and stopped and hovered. I asked the witness roughly how low the object was, and he told me it was about half the height of Roche Debulle which is a beautiful mountain at the back of his property. (What ever this craft was, it was really low in altitude)

Below Photo: *Out his East dining room window facing Roche Debulle is where it moved and hung again.*

The witness said this low hovering main craft was just a big yellow colored light until he brought out his spotting scope and was able to really see some kind of shape to it. It turns out this object was like a giant cigar. All the other six objects which were green and red in color sat stationary much higher above and in a straight line across the night sky.

Due to the main crafts brightness he only saw a ball shaped light. It was only when he used his spotting scope that he could actually see shape to the object.

He was afraid to take his eyes off the thing just in case he missed something, but did eventually move down stairs to make a cup of coffee and was still able to observe the object from his kitchen window and it still sat there for a long time afterwards. Finally dawn started to break and when night turned to day the craft rose up, straight upwards and eventually just disappeared. The man told me he was able to watch the craft rising up until he wasn't able to view it anymore. As for the line of colored objects, they seemed to disappear due to the oncoming brightness from the daylight. That was it, an amazing UFO event !

Granisle, British Columbia - Major UFO Sighting.

A little History on Granisle, B.C. - The early inhabitants of the area were Carrier Indians, called "Babine" by the early explorers, referring to the distended ornamented lower lips of the native women.

The village of Granisle was founded in the late 1960's and early 1970's on the shores of Babine Lake as a home for the families of the miners working in the nearby copper mines. At the height of its population, Granisle boasted approximately 3,000 people.

After the last mine shut down in 1992, the community transformed into a retirement destination. Tourism in the area also began to grow and is now the area's main industry.

In 1971 workmen excavating in an open-pit copper mine at Babine Lake discovered the partly articulated skeleton of a Columbian Mammoth. The bones were taken from silty pond deposits overlain by very thick boulder-clay deposited by the last glacier that covered the area. Radiocarbon dates indicate that the animal sank in sticky pond deposits about 34,000 years ago. A replica of some of the Mammoth's Bones can be seen at the Granisle Museum.

Also Babine Lake is the largest natural lake in all of British Columbia.

A major UFO event took place on November 29, 2007 along the Granisle Hwy, close to the lookout. Three witnesses were driving home from the Topley, B.C. area which is located just south of Granisle. The highway driving wasn't the best with slippery sections of compact snow and some black ice. As the witnesses approached the Granisle lookout, just a short distance south from it, fog rolled in and a bright explosion (no sound) lit up the whole sky, their truck on the highway and surrounding area. It was like night was turned into day for a brief second or two.

When Brian Vike first read the report, or the first sentence in the emailed sighting report I thought the witnesses may have seen a fireball. But from talking to two of the eyewitnesses it became clear to me that what they saw was rather unusual and not something easily explainable.

Right after the blue flash lit up the area a streak of white light shot out of the sky towards the ground on the witnesses right hand side of the vehicle. "It was very strange and surreal", the witness told me. The folks continued on driving and then came across a whole set of orange and red lights in front of them. (keep in mind the white streak of light shot out of the sky, downward and appeared to be in front of them). The colored lights looked like they were in front of them on the hill. Then just disappeared before they got to it seconds later. There was no other traffic on the highway at the time of the event. One of the people wanted to go back and see if they could find anything, but the other two passengers in their vehicle were too frightened so they continued on their way to home to Granisle.

Second Witness To Granisle, B.C. (A little earlier in the day and independent from everyone else)

I called back to another eyewitness, a fellow who resides in Granisle, B.C. What he saw was completely unusual. On November 29, 2007 at approximately 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. when the fellow witnessed a very strange cloud formation which seemed to have parked itself directly over top of the old Granisle mine. The cloud he described as being "dome" shaped and luminous. Up here in the north it would have been just around dusk at the time he saw the dome shaped cloud, which I will add, seemed to have structure to it. There was no type of wind shear off the cloud itself. It was a perfect dome shape and extremely large in size. As the witness said, you couldn't miss it as it stood out clearly.

At approximately 6:00-6:30 p.m. the gentleman dropped his mother off at her home and he was heading back to his place which is alongside the lake shore when he then noticed a light in the sky, which was moving horizontally. The man told me the light appeared to be thin and really long in length. The long skinny light was blue/blackish in color, similar to a black light, and his best guess as to the length of it would have been 1/4 mile.

As this object moved down the lake he was able to see how the lights were situated on the craft. At either end, they were somewhat brighter. As he looked along the entire length of the craft, he saw a bright patch, then dimmer, then bright again. This continued in the same pattern straight down the length of the object. Bright, dim, bright, dim. (I have added a "rough" graphic below of how this may have appeared.)

Below graphic of object: What the blue craft/object appeared to look like (rough idea).

The object moved toward the dome shaped cloud, seemed to be above it, then that was the last sight of it before it disappeared. He said he was able to observe the blue colored object for about 10 to 15 minutes. What is interesting about this, is that the fellow told me the unusual cloud was parked over the mine all day. Also it was a lot darker than the surrounding clouds which were moving on by, as he mentioned, maybe more of an inky color. There was no sound whatsoever coming from the cloud, or the long blue craft.

The Vike Factor had a wonderful chat on the phone with two of the witnesses who gave a great description of what was seen that night.

Brian Vike started making enquiries straight away and I called the local RCMP detachment here in Houston, British Columbia, I told the RCMP dispatcher who I was and I asked if there were any emergency vehicles called out on the evening of November 29, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. to the Granisle area and including the stretch of highway running from Topley to Granisle. I wanted to see if the lights being reported to me from the eyewitnesses may have been emergency vehicles. I was told that I would have to check with one of the RCMP members who was stationed in Granisle. (The reason why I called the Houston detachment was that they fill in for the RCMP member at times and I thought they may have some information).

As it stands, there were no calls out to attend to any emergencies that night on the Granisle Highway. This eliminates the RCMP. I also called LDM (Lakes District Maintenance) and talked with one of the LDM workers at their headquarters here in Houston, B.C. as LDM looks after the maintenance for the Granisle Highway. I asked if there were any sanding trucks, road graders or snow plows on the Granisle Highway at the time of the UFO incident. I also told the man who I was, and why I was checking to see if they had any equipment working on the highway. I also stated that I was trying to eliminate the explainable before moving onto the weirdness.

The LDM worker said I may as well start looking into the weirdness as he said there was only one truck out and "may" have been on the highway that night, but not at that particular time. He certainly stressed that they had no equipment that would have been as bright as what had been reported. Not meaning the blue flash, but speaking more of the orange lights that all the witnesses had seen. The orange lights spread out for a great distance horizontally. None of the lights were reported to be flashing at all !

http://www.fileden.com/getfile.php?file_path=http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/10/8/2596598/LDM.mp3

I also called The Peak Radio station in Smithers, B.C. to see if they may have received any calls from folks who witnessed the unusual event, and no reports were called in to the newsroom.

Also I spoke to a lady at the Peak which is located in Smithers as well. I talked with the receptionist and she mentioned that they took a call from a lady who lives in the Hazelton, B.C. area and who reported lights in the sky there. I was then put through to the newsroom and spoke to another lady about what had taken place and she also confirmed that a report did come into The Peak radio station.

Now after speaking to two of the witnesses, it seemed we had an extremely bright flash of blue light, followed immediately by a white object streaking downwards toward the ground. We are not talking about a white object at a high altitude, but rather something very low and from what the people told me who saw this, the object could have landed, or impacted on the ground. (however there was no physical evidence of that happening). Then there are the unusual lights, large non flashing and sitting pretty much directly in-front of the travelers. The driver of the truck said the lights were there and then either blinked out or just disappeared. Brian Vike did ask if it was at all possible that they might have missed the lights as they passed the area in their truck and the driver and daughter said no "it was as if they had just completely disappeared". They had been right in front of their vehicle just yards down the road.

I also talked to the daughter who was in the truck that evening and witnessed the bright blue flash of light, but did not see the streaking white light. She did observe the orange colored lights, not blinking/flashing and she told me they must have been a great size because the area the lights took up was huge. The daughter also said that she was able to watch the strange lights move through the wooded area, behind trees, etc until they either tuned off and just disappeared.

Brian Vike asked if there were any roads in the area where the lights were, and I was told no. No roads at all. It seems to me that something, or a white colored object of some kind came from out of the brilliant blue flash and headed down towards the ground, and what the witnesses were watching was the object moving itself through the forested area ahead of their truck just off to the side of the highway.

Did an unidentified craft land ? That is the big question, but it sure appears that something of an unknown nature did come down. No reports have been filed to the authorities at least at this time.

I talked to a lady in the Houston mall who told me that there were other witnesses besides these people who already reported the sighting, who also saw blue flashing lights and unknown lights that were stationary in the sky. More weirdness, more witnesses !

Telkwa, B.C. email from a witness reporting what he and his son saw the night sky light up green, also his email to Environment Canada and their response below.

Telkwa, British Columbia (Green Flash Lights Up The Entire Night Sky)

Date: November 29, 2007

Time: Between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Near the Field and Stream Trailer Court.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 0 (no objects witnessed, just bright green flash)
Shape of objects: The whole sky lit up.

Full Description of event/sighting: My son and I were driving back to Telkwa when we saw the clear night sky flash dimly green. We didn't see any objects, but after talking with (friends name removed), he told me what he read on your site. So I thought that I would check it out. I have written to environment Canada, with the hope that they could explain it as a natural thing. Anyway, I just thought that I would add what I saw. When I was a kid I saw this once before, but at that time it was snowing and everything lit up green. I didn't hear thunder when I saw it that time so I knew that it wasn't an electrical storm.

Anyways, I hope that Environment Canada will have some answers. Bye for now.

The witness who observed the flash of green light did receive a short reply from Environment Canada which is given below.

Hello (name removed),

Thank you for sending your request to Environment Canada. Meteorologically, there is nothing that can explain the green flash you saw last night. The only thing I can think of would be a fireball (meteorite) passing over your area (or even exploding as it passed over the region).

Yours truly,
Bernard Duguay.

Meteorological Inquiry Specialist.

MSC National Inquiry Response Team.

Environment Canada.

I also found out while looking into this case that a disk shaped craft was observed by two witnesses from their job site. Also reports of UFO's coming in and out of Babine Lake. Not to mention a possible missing time case I have now heard about as well. This all happening in and around Granisle, British Columbia.

Other witnesses observed a bright UFO hovering over a person's home in the Houston, B.C. area, this witnessed by a number of neighbors.

Over the years The Vike Factor has received some pretty amazing sighting reports from this general area. Is it the mineral from the mines that may be an attraction, or the huge body of water - Babine Lake. I guess one could speculate, but I am sure no answers would be easily found.

Houston, British Columbia UFO Hovering Over Tree Tops

Date: October 23 or 24th, 2007

Time: Just before daybreak (7:00-ish a.m.)

Since Brian Vike was on the trail over the November 29, 2007 sightings and I started asking people I know around town if they knew anyone who had witnessed anything on the date of the major sightings. I ran into a couple of friends who did see something very unusual, but this goes back to October 23 or 24 of 2007.

A husband and wife were out on the old Equity Mine road which is just south east of the town of Houston. They parked their truck on a pull out alongside the road waiting for the sun to come up before starting to hunt. As they sat in the vehicle talking, they noticed one large ball of light, it was green and red and strobing. The object was pretty much stationary when they first saw it. This object was just a little bit lower than the tree tops with one of the mountains in the background. This of course threw out the idea of the object being a star of any kind. The lady told me the object was hovering between two tall evergreen trees, at times the object would move to the north and then back to the south in short hops, then back again between the two tall trees.

They watched this happen for about 10 minutes and then all of a sudden the UFO started to move directly upward, straight up until they completely lost view of it. The couple said it was wild seeing such a weird sight.

I listed a couple of the older, but interesting UFO sightings below from Granisle, British Columbia.

1. - Granisle, British Columbia A Large Glowing Orange Gold Saucer

Date: October 22, 2002 Time: 10:25 p.m.

(Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: Granisle is a small town 45 minutes northeast from where I live in Houston, British Columbia, Canada. Granisle has a population of 400 residents and the main industries are tourism and logging. Once the site of a copper mine. (Granisle Copper & Bell Copper) who had two large open pit mines).

I was contacted by a gentleman (RCMP Officer) recently who gave me quite a story. The witness was with another fellow driving north just a couple of kilometers south of Granisle, B.C. (their exact location when they viewed the craft was at Topley Landing). The two large forest companies here in Houston have a barge which runs back and forth across Babine Lake carrying logging trucks. The old Bell Copper mine is directly across the lake from the witnesses position. An approximate guess would be a 3/4 to 1 mile between the craft and the witnesses.

The officers observed a large glowing orange/gold almost saucer shaped (oval?) object hovering right over top the old Bell Copper mine. They said it was very low to the ground. At this point they pulled over to have a look and to try to figure out what they were seeing. As they watched the object hover, it would rise up very slowly and come to a complete stop, move sideways then stop and drop down roughly the same height from the ground when the witnesses first saw it. HBCC UFO Note: I asked if they witnessed any type of light coming from the object, meaning a downwards beam of light.

They both told me no, no lights were seen coming from the object. They did say that it almost looked as if every time the object moved to another position and dropped back down, it seemed to them the light intensity grew from the object while it stayed stationary. At "one" point the object moved out over the lake and stopped for a few seconds, then went back over top the mine once again.

They mentioned they heard no sound at all, but keeping in mind that the two fellows were some distance away from the object when viewing it. (Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I asked them if they could give me an approximate size of this UFO). Their rough estimate was about the size of the Moon (maybe a hair smaller). They also said there were a few other cars and trucks that passed by them at the time, but no one stopped.

But they did say that everyone traveling the highway had to have seen it, you couldn't miss it. They said the area around the object, (ground area) was lit up for some distance. Also due to the brightness of the craft it cast it's reflection on the lake. The men watched this event for approximately 7 minutes before it rose up and left slowly heading north, still at a low altitude and out of their sight.

(Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I found this a very interesting case to work on. Three things came to mind. Why was this craft sitting over the old Granisle/ Bell Copper mine? Why did it move and stop over top of the lake? Why did the intensity seem to grow when it moved to a new position and hover? Actually I have a million questions I could think of to ask, but who? I am not sure if I can gain access to the mine, but I am going to check into it, as I would love to take a drive out to have a look around. Also something to keep in mind, Granisle Copper & Bell Copper mine's sit on an island on Babine Lake. Since the mines have been closed for sometime it may be hard to get onto the property.

Also rumors have been floating around that one of the companies were thinking of going back in and high grading the remaining ore. One other note to this story which may be of interest. On the mine site there have been a good number of fossils found, one which has brought a lot of attention has been the Mammoth. Bones have been found, and also were buried by the mine some time ago when it was in operation. From a newspaper article in the Smithers Interior newspaper a while back the company thought it best to not have their mining operation stopped, or slowed down by having folks digging for these fossils.

2. - Did The Same Golden UFO Return To Granisle?

Date: December 27, 2002 Time: approx: 2:10 a.m.

I had a telephone call from a nice fellow who reported that he, and three other co-workers were doing some last minute work around the logging camp which is located across Babine Lake, just across the lake from Granisle, British Columbia. One of the workers gave out a loud cry telling the other workers to look into the direction he was pointing to. Approximately a half kilometer away from their location, which would have been to the north. The men all witnessed a bright, white/yellowish light coming from behind the trees in the distance. At this point all that was visible was a brightness shining above the trees.

(Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note:) I know the area well as I have spent a lot of time fishing the lakes in the area, and there is nothing out there other than forest, lakes and streams. Of course cut blocks which are being logged. I asked the fellow if there may have been logging equipment working in the area where the light was seen coming from, using their bright lights to log and harvest the timber. He said no ! The loggers were making ready the area/camp for logging to start up again after the holiday season, so no loggers were operating.

After dropping everything the men were doing, watching and wondering what this glowing light was, to their shock a large glowing golden/orange-ish disk shaped object with a large halo of white around the craft rose up in the distance and stopped and hovered. I was told they observed the object for approximately 10 seconds at the most, which the fellow said seemed like a life time. As the object moved away from their location, heading roughly to the north they did lose sight of the craft quickly, but after losing sight of the object they still could see the bright light, which they figured was the light which was given off from the craft for some time. (approx: 5 minutes after seeing the object). The light grew faint and disappeared.

Sayward, British Columbia UFO Event

Date: July 29, 2002
Time: 10:50 p.m.

Witness #1 (out of 6 witnesses)

On October 3, 2002 I had a telephone call from a lady who resides in Sayward, British Columbia which is located on the north eastern shore of Vancouver Island. It has about 1500 inhabitants and is approximately two hours south of Port Hardy, one hour north of Campbell River and four hours north of the provincial capital, Victoria.

Below Image: Location map of Sayward, British Columbia.

She had read an article which I had written and which had been published in the North Island Gazette (in a letter to the editor) ... where I had asked residents to report any strange lights they may have seen recently in the area and which I could investigate.

I had heard from a colleague who informed me that a number of witnesses had reported seeing a large fireball over Sayward, B.C. on the evening of July 29, 2002.

The reason why I was so interested in hearing from these folks was due to the major sighting which took place here (Houston, Quick, Telkwa & Smithers, British Columbia) on the same evening where nine witnesses in four different communities watched an unforgettable event which seemed to be connected to the Sayward B.C sighting.

Below Drawning: Witness drew what it was they observed.

The lady went on to tell me that there was a total of six witnesses who she knew who had also observed the same thing. Her mother, aunt and three other women had witnessed this strange object, all within a kilometer from each other ... and to this day she can't figure out what it may have been.

Below Image: Witness #1 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

When it was first observed she told me that she thought it was a meteor, but as it travelled along, she quickly changed her mind. She said after the event was over she logged on to the internet to seek help in trying to find an answer which might give some clue as to what she had seen.

She found a Meteorologist in Courtney, B.C. and wrote him a letter explaining what it was she had seen and heard. The gentleman told her that it was most likely a meteor, but she felt like she was getting the run around, and nothing basically came from her request for information. She'd been told to provide the latitude and longitude of her sighting .. and of course she was unable to do that. It was not her expertise !

However he did ask if he could send out a short questionnaire for her and the other witnesses to complete. She received the paperwork and forwarded it to the other ladies and they all filled it in. After the questionnaires were completed and collected, everyone's information was basically the same. Three of the witnesses drew pictures of their sighting.

Below Drawning: Witness drew what it was they observed.

Another trip to the internet (to my website) provided the witness with more accounts of the same sighting. A similar object had been seen further north (Bulkley Valley) on the same date .. much to her surprise. She immediately contacted me by telephone to tell me of her experience and how she thought it may have been the same object.

The only difference in all the reports is that this witness did hear noises and went on to say the other three ladies also heard the same sounds. She explained where she was standing, on her driveway and the object was "just there" in front of her "just" above the small mountain. I was told by this witness that it was the noise which had attracted her attention.

In her words she said the sound was like that of a "screecher" (fire cracker) which gave off a whistling noise. When she looked up, the first thing that was noted was a white tail. She also said the object looked as if it was hovering, moving really slowly. It also had a white core center and black coloring around the outside edges. It was also described as being covered with fire, or an orange color all the way around it.

As this was taking place, she heard a scream from her neighbours property behind her. Her comments to herself after hearing the screaming from the neighbors was, "exactly"!, meaning she was glad someone else saw it. After she lost sight of the object, a couple of minutes went by when her mother and aunty came driving up in their van. The witness got into the van and did not want to mention what she had just seen, but because it was such an amazing event she said to her mother and aunty you wouldn't believe what I just saw. The two women just looked at her and said, "did you see what we've just seen"? She told them yes.

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Investigators Note: I have talked to the two witnesses who were driving the van at the time and have their reports as well. They will be written up separately. Some of the witnesses work for the Provincial Emergency Program, so all are very credible and thought, at the time, that they were going to have to respond to crashed aircraft.

I asked the woman if she could give me a rough idea how far off the ground the object might have been, she turned and asked her boyfriend, he said their property was sitting about 100 feet above sea level, and the witness said the object was approximately 100 feet off the ground traveling horizontally. Her thoughts were that the object was going to go into the ocean. It seemed as if it had just crashed.

She explained that the Meteorologist she had contacted ... had said, in all his days...he has never heard of a meteor making any noise. When I asked the witness about the size of this object, she said it was "HUGE"!

I asked her what was the duration of the sighting and she replied that she had watched the object for approximately 3 to 4 seconds before she lost sight of it when the trees on her property blocked the view.

I received copies of the drawings made by the witnesses and also copies of the questionnaires which you have found in this report.

Questionnaire from EMO Fireball Network Station Courtenay for the witnesses to fill out.
http://www.amsmeteors.org/spectra/majdenobs.html

So far we have had no reports on this object. Can you or someone that observed this event answer a couple of questions?

1. How bright was it as compared to the Moon or the planet Venus? Venus should have been visible low in the NW around evening twilight.

2. You mentioned sound associated with this object. Was this sound simultaneous or occurring at the same time you saw the object or was it delayed sound?

3. Did you hear a sonic boom? If so, how long after you saw the fireball did it occur?

4. What part of the sky was it in?

5. Did it pass overhead?

6. What was the duration of the fireball?

7. Would you say it was fast, slow, etc.

8. Did it break-up or fragment or was it just a solid object?

Please answer these questions as best you can. Ask them of each person who saw the event and try not to influence them as to what they saw. Have them report their own impression of what they observed or heard.

If we get any more reports I will let you know. Thanks for reporting this to us.

The results to the above questions have been postal mailed to me, as soon as I receive them i will post the answers to these questions.

Below is an email I received from the Sandia Bolide Detection Station EMO Courtenay, B.C in which explained the gentleman's thoughts on what he felt the residents of Sayward saw. I do thank this fellow for his input and answering my email.

Hello Brian:

Thanks for your email. This object was probably a bright meteor. You get all kinds of strange reports when these events occur as most people that see a bright fireball are surprised by it and are not skilled at making such observations. We often get reports that the meteor landed just behind my farmer Joe's barn. If you see a bright fireball, it is still quite high in the atmosphere and many kilometres from you.

The last portion of the flight is not visible. Directions are not accurate either. It can be moving toward you or away from you and still draw the same path across the sky. It is better to ask the observer if it was going from left-to-right or right-to-left. This way we can determined if we have observers on both sides of the path. This is necessary if you want to do a triangulation and plot a possible fall area. You should see the reports we get from UFO buffs! If the fireball is near you, a sonic boom is often heard, sometime after the event. Perhaps several minutes later depending on how far away it is. Some people report simultaneous sounds but this is still not proven. It is probably too late to do anything about this event but we are still interested in hearing about them.

Best regards:
(deleted)- Sandia Bolide Detection Station EMO Courtenay, B.C.

Brian Vike, The Vike Factor's Note. I already have two more reports to add soon to this page, and I will be contacting the other three witnesses tonight, October 8, 2002.

Sayward, British Columbia

Witness #2 (out of 6 witnesses)

I interviewed a very nice lady who took the time to explain what she had seen the night of July 29, 2002.

In this report two sisters were in their vehicle when the passenger exclaimed "oh my goodness, what is that"? The driver then spotted the object, and thought both women thought it was an airliner about to crash. She said it was very "low" and thought it was on fire. She again stressed just how low it was from the ground. (Maybe 150 feet when she watched it pass by.)

Below Image: Witness #2 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

I asked the witness if the object was traveling in a horizontal position, or had any slight angle to it. She said it could have been going straight, meaning flying horizontally. She stopped for a moment, and said to me, "I know this is going to sound strange, but it looked as if it was being operated by someone !" She said she didn't think it was falling down at all, but more like an airplane which was coming into an airport to land and almost following a straight path.

As both women are part of the Provincial Emergency Program they were concerned that they would be called out that night to deal with an impending crash. They rushed down to the wharf to see if there was any activity in the water, island or on the mainland which isn't far from Sayward across the ocean. They were expecting to see flames, debris and a crash scene and couldn't not believe that there was no sign of anything out of the ordinary.

The witness described the object as being dark. It looked like a big black cloud with the moon behind it. She said it was very long, like a cigar shaped object.

Brian Vike, The Vike Factor's Note: She did not want to use the words "cigar shaped", as she had heard of these types of objects before. She preferred to compare it to the shape and size of the body of a 747 aircraft. Next day she drove past the same spot where the object had been seen previously and realized what she had seen had indeed been flying "very low". There had been no sound heard from the object because the women were traveling inside a vehicle at the time.

She stressed to me it did not look like it was falling, but being handled. (She said I don't know if that is the right word to use, but it looked as if it was coming in to land, and looked to her as if it was on fire.) She went on to say, I couldn't tell you what it was, but I sure know what I saw !

The witness also drew what she saw on paper, and after everyone was done, all the drawings were compared and found to be identical. Her sighting lasted for approx: 4 seconds. It was also moving very slow, and like she mentioned to me, she had seen many meteors in her life, and this was no meteor.

Thank you so much to this witness for sharing her experience with me.

Sayward, British Columbia

Witness # 3

I talked with the third witness who gave a brief description of what she saw on July 29, 2002. She said it looked like a plane blowing up ! (A huge fireball of flame). She also told me that the object was very low to the ground, but it was hard to estimate the exact altitude.

Below Image: Witness #3 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

It was traveling straight along, not falling at an angle. This witness said she heard no sound coming from it. She described the color as being orange/yellow. It also had a short tail following behind. In her estimation she figured the total time of the sighting lasted between 5 to 8 seconds. She claims the object was traveling in a northerly direction.

Thank you to this witness for her report.
Brian.

Below Image: Witness #4 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada. I had no written report for the fourth witness, I do though have an audio interview.

I would like to thank the witness for all of their help.
Brian.

Clovis, New Mexico UFO Event - 1976 Burnt Ground And Unusual Metal Men In Suit

Date: 1976

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: I have removed a person's name from this report I was sent due to not having permission to make the person's name public as I just have not spoken to the person. Also I want to make it very clear, the person who wrote this report up wants to stay anomalous. Here at The Vike Factor I respect everyone's wishes. I will not be giving out this person's name.

Hello again, Brian, To answer your question, (name removed) name appeared in the Sunday article in the Clovis News Journal. I don't know if he gave permission to use it, as he is now located in Las Vegas, Nevada. His father was quoted, just joking about the whole thing, but that's the kind of man he is.

I took some time to sit down and write what I remember about that time, thirty years ago. I remembered quite a bit, maybe more than my friends. Here is the text:

I was a senior in high school, and was approached by a local young man named (name removed). He had heard that I owned a large telescope, and wondered if we might use it together to try to get a view of some objects he’d seen in the sky and taken pictures of the previous night. I had a 6" reflector telescope, and back then, it was uncommon.

I accompanied him and a young reporter from the Clovis News Journal for the next 36 hours or so. We had the telescope with us in the trunk of the car. We went out to several remote areas at the edge of town, and my friend described what he had seen the night before. We set up the scope, and binoculars, and looked at the sky. There were several moments when we thought we saw movement in the star field, but couldn’t be sure. Sometime after midnight, we decided to doze at the News Journal office, on a couple beat up old couches they had there, and listen to the police scanner.

After a short while, we heard a call go out for a “public service” to the “burn spot” behind the Colonial Park church, at the northwest edge of town. “Public service” meant fire, police, and emergency medical services were all to respond. We scurried out to the car, piled in and beat everyone but the state police to the site. When we arrived, a State Policeman told us that a couple had been “parking” (we knew the young couple from high school) behind the church when they saw a craft with green lights land in the field beside the church. It stayed a few moments, then blasted off into the sky. When it took off, it started the field on fire. When we got there, the fire was not burning. We could smell the burnt grass, so we crossed a barbed wire fence to get to the burned spot with flashlights in our hands.

The burned area was very strange. The prevalent winds here are from the west, and I remember that the burn spot ran north and south, about 100 yards long and 30 yards wide, contrary to the wind. There was a strange pattern at the edge of the burn also. The grass inside the burned area was burnt to the ground, then at the edge, the short grass wasn’t touched, and the taller grass farther out was singed only at the tops. Some of the grass fifteen feet from the edge of the burn was singed on the top, with untouched grass in between. So it seemed that a giant flame had played over the field, completely unlike a natural grass fire, which has a clear line delineating the edge. This peculiar pattern was all around the edge of the burned spot.

In the middle of the burn, we found a weird clue. There was a square of grass, about 18 inches, perfectly square, and the grass had been pressed down hard into the dirt. Around the square the grass was completely burned away, but the grass flattened in the square was untouched, but for being pressed down. It seemed as if something very, very heavy was sitting there, and left a footprint in the grass. We spread out, looking for other similar “footprints,” but there were none, only the one, singular square.

As we were in the field, walking around the burned spot, a four-door sedan pulled up to the edge of the field where the firefighters and local police were waiting. The sedan had four men inside, all of them wore suits. The state police waved us over. The men were pretty much nondescript, clean shaven, average looking, short haircuts, but not quite military. They started asking us questions. One of them opened the trunk of the car and it was filled with electronic equipment. He took a device out of the trunk and closed the trunk. We told them about the square footprint, and they wanted to see it. We all walked to the field, and showed them the spot. With the flashlights playing on the spot, one of the men took his shoe and rubbed the spot out, obliterating it. I remember his words to this day. “That’s nothing."

We were instantly angry. I marched off away from the group and more towards the edge of the burn, where we hadn’t looked around. I was fuming, shining the light around hoping to get another clue. I found one.

It was a piece of constructed metal, about two feet long. When I picked it up, I noticed that it was very light, yet strong, like titanium. On one end was a tube, about two inches in diameter, and attached to the side of the tube and running along its length was a small flat bar. The bar was about twice as long as the tube, and on the end of the bar was attached a fin. The fin was about 8" wide, and very flat and thin.

I yelled to my friends, but before they could get there, one of the suits ran up and snatched it from me. He hauled it away so fast that my friends only got a glimpse of it. The suits then told us to leave the area. We stomped off, and hung around by our car. What the suits didn’t know is that the young reporter, who had his camera around his neck the whole time, had taken a photograph of the square footprint. That photo is still somewhere out there.

The police, firefighters, and ambulance were all leaving, as there were no casualties and no fire. The police announced they were all going to Denny’s, a local restaurant, for coffee. The suits asked if one of us young people would ride with them, and since I was the youngest, I was “elected."

I sat between two of the suits in the back seat. They interrogated me while we were driving, asking all kinds of personal questions, about me, what I did with my time, what movies I liked, my hobbies. Even at a young age, I knew they were fishing. I was polite, and was very happy to get out of their car. We all sat at different tables at the restaurant, and didn’t talk much, as the suits were listening.

When we left, everyone (including the suits) went to the old empty Hotel Clovis, and I hauled my big telescope up to the roof. The suits had binoculars and several small, box-like instruments they were peering through. I remember how strange it was, them letting us youngsters even go up there. We watched the sky, waited, and watched some more.

I was getting dreary eyed when one of my friends noticed some strange movement in the star field. It was as if a star would just zip across the sky to another location where it would just stay. We’d watch it a while, and it would zip again, with excited shouts going up, “Did you see that?” “Did you see?” The suits would always deny seeing anything.

This watching went on for several hours, but no stunning play of lights or colors appeared. We all went to our homes and slept until the next night.

The next day, we read in the paper that the burn had been made by fireworks. In January. I knew it was a cover-up, as the burn pattern couldn’t have possibly been made by fireworks. They also said that what was seen in the sky was Saturn. There was no mention of the footprint, or the strange piece of metal.

Brian, there is more to the story, but I’ll have to get to that later, if you’re interested. Just let me know.

I would like to extend my many thanks to the person for this wonderful report which adds alot more information to what took place in 1976. Also there will be more to come.

If anyone reading these military reports has any information about these reports would you please be kind enough to write to me with a detailed report. Thank you.
