Huge Triangular UFOs Spotted And Large Jet Activity In The Sky Over Altoona Iowa (Written Report/Audio Interview)

Time: 9:15 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Triangular object was heading toward Des Moines and large star object heading southeast from Des Moines.
Number of witnesses: 1 or more hopefully.
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Large bright star object turns from white to red and a very large triangular craft.

Full Description of event/sighting: Brian, I saw two objects back to back tonight. First I was out walking my dog and on our way back towards home. I then noticed three bright lights in a triangular formation to the south of us, the craft was heading west.

This object was silent and couldn't have been a plane, as I didn't hear any noise. Also Brian, there is a large presence of jet air craft in the area speeding about.

I counted more then six. I watched the triangle craft for about four minutes. This thing had dim white lights, and looked huge, to big to be a plane.

It flew over a road with heavy traffic, so someone had to of seen this. I noticed also this thing had a very bright white light on top almost blinding, and I must say I am baffled by this sighting.

Now object 2 that I saw tonight and I have seen on many occasions. It just keeps reappearing. I saw a large bright star object that changed from bright white to red.

I should add it started to glow red. This object came from the west and was heading south east.

I watched it for about two minutes. The weather tonight is partly cloudy and cool. Both objects were easy to see and there was nothing that interfered while viewing of both of these crafts.

A Gigantic Triangular Craft Witnessed Twice Over Altoona Iowa

Date: May 6, 2008
Time: 9:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Watched out of the kitchen window.
Number of witnesses: 1

Shape of objects: Huge triangular object saw it twice.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hey Brian, I sent you an e-mail, not sure if you got it.

I would like to talk to you over the phone about what I witnessed last night. I was watching lightning last night since we had thunderstorms move through the area, and as I watched, I noticed a bright white light moving behind some trees in the southern sky.

The light was moving at a slow pace, but as I continued to watch it suddenly picked up speed. It started to go towards the west very quickly, but then the object switched directions, and started to head east and it slowed down.

I watched the object until I lost sight of it, and then once again Brian, this bright object switched directions again and started heading towards the west again.

As I continued viewing this object, it started to descend. I then could make out three bright white lights that were in a triangle formation. The object then slowed down and a white and red light began flashing beneath the craft.

Just before the object was out of sight, the whole craft just lit up very brightly, and indeed you could tell it was a triangular shaped object.

It had lights all around it. That part freaked me out! I watched this object for a total time of fifteen minutes.

I also saw this same craft on Friday May 2nd at around 10:10 p.m. after leaving work. The object was just as huge, and had the same lights in the triangular formation, but one white light at the back of the craft was flashing.

Both objects were flying very low probably at 7,000 feet up. I was stunned seeing this thing twice.

Fast Moving Silent V Shaped UFO Spotted In The Sky Over Des Moines Iowa

It flew over my house with no noise, at first I thought it was a large flock or ducks or geese, but no sound and it moved way to quickly. I live in Des Moines, Iowa.

Clear Glass Tube UFO Rises From The Ground At Oskaloosa Iowa

Date:  October 22, 2014
Time:  Approx: 8:00 a.m.

Oskaloosa, Iowa. 10/22/14 I went out side of my apartment at about 8:00 a.m. this morning and saw a clear glass looking tube coming straight up from the ground that was reflecting the sun light off of it on one side, then it kept morphing as it went up in the sky.

As it leveled out in the sky, it changed to a weird colored looking plane that had no sound or contrail on it. It then slowly flew and disappeared. I also posted the sighting on my face book page I see UFO's and strange objects around here all the time and I live in the apartments across from the hospital.

Three Red Lights Spotted In The Sky Over Cedar Rapids Iowa

Date:  July 26, 2014
Time:  Evening.

We were in our back yard and we see 3 red lights. We also thought they were Chinese lanterns, but we didn't see anything return yet.

This happened about 45 minuets ago. I didn't hear any noise and we saw one at a time, slowly going higher and higher and there was no change in direction, but one seemed faster than the other two.

Fuzzy Red Colored Object/Light Traveling At High Speed Over Cedar Rapids Iowa

Time:  8:45 p.m.

 

We saw them here in Cedar Rapids Iowa, Saturday, 03/30/12 at 8:45 p.m. Fuzzy red, high rate of speed, no sound, traveling west into a lightning storm. 3 lights were in a perfect triangle, 3 more were trailing the triangle. Strangest thing I've ever seen, we were not able to get video.

Five Red Orange Lights Over Dubuque County Iowa

Hello. My fiancé and I seen 5 reddish orange flashing lights flying across the sky last night, December 25, 2011, around 9:00 pm in Dubuque, IA. The first three were in a V formation with the last two following in a line straight behind them.

 

I guess you could call this a Y formation. They made no noise and we just stood there in awe and watched them move across the sky. It seemed that one of the first three faded out as they got farther away. Any idea what this was? Thank you.

Two Orange Colored Lights Over Oelwein Iowa

Time:  Approx: 6:00 p.m.

 

We saw 2 orange colored lights coming toward us in the north sky. At first we thought it was a plane, but airplanes have different colored lights on each wing. They traveled to the southeast moving apart and then closer together and one time they were around each other. 

 

They did not make a sound. They were not as high as usual airplanes. This was around 6:00 in Oelwein, Iowa. And I am not a nut, these were real.

Orange Glowing Flaming Object Over Cedar Rapids Iowa

Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

 

Hello Brian, I found the story of the orange flame in Suffolk County , NY on the internet this morning.  We had one of those fly right over our house shortly after 9:00 p.m. last night (December 25). I saw it through the window and ran out on to the driveway as it passed overhead.

 

My wife saw it too, as did my neighbor who was across the street unloading his car. This object had an orange glowing flame as it moved consistently and slowly across the sky at a fairly low altitude. It made no noise and did not deviate from its path at all. 

 

My guess is it was less than 1,500 feet in the air. My neighbor commented that he thought it looked like a Chinese lantern as it appeared the flame was shooting from a circular pattern. I have never seen anything like it in terms of the visual elements, and the consistency of its path with no noise! 

 

After it traveled to the east another half mile the flame disappeared and it appeared sparks dropped from the object. I could not see a defined shape around the flame, but the flame burned consistently as well and no debris was falling from it as it passed over. 

 

I would very much like to communicate this to the folks who saw an object in NY to compare notes if that is possible. I want to try to find an answer on this to see what I observed. I know aviation and planes and astronomy fairly well and this was nothing connected to those subjects. Thanks for any help you can provide. Sincerely, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Lights Darting Around The Sky Over Oskaloosa Iowa

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My son got out of the car and said there are 8 of them, I said what, and he said 8 life flight helicopters. We live in a small town there is only 1 or 2 helicopters that come here.

 

I then stood still and then what looked to be stars with bright flashing lights started darting everywhere, some moving, but some really moving fast zooming across the sky above us headed west.

Round Flaming Orange Objects Over De Witt Iowa (Video Clips)

Shape of Objects: Round with orange type glow/flames around it.

 

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I am a sky watcher and have been for years and I know what’s up there. I can spot satellites, meteors, space station, aircraft and I know the difference. This evening I saw something special. I went outside to let the dogs out and as usual, I look up.

 

To the west of our house just about the tree line, I saw to bright lights, thinking that there where two general aviation aircraft flying formations, but then I noticed that there where no navigation lights, just a glow. I measured the distance between the two objects and they where separated the distance between my index finger and thumb.

 

 

 

They where traveling from west to east and as they got overhead they started to fade. No sounds. I know they where higher then commercial traffic overhead because at the time of the sighting, there were several aircraft overhead and the objects where higher and traveling at a speed, just a little faster then what we see air traffic over head.

 

The objects tracked on a true heading to the east with not deviation and as the light dimmed I could see some type of object, kind of like how satellites look in the night sky. It’s not over yet, not more then 2 minutes later another object came into view.

 

This time I got my wife and daughter to check this out. I also got my binoculars and camera. They thought I was crazy at first, but then we all agreed that it was something we have never seen before. Behind the third one about what I call about 10 miles, only because I know that airliners cannot get closer then 5 miles apart in the air way overhead, was another object, same level, same brightness, no sounds.

 

The object I viewed with my binoculars looked like some type of fire ball without the flaming tails, just a glow, you could see the flames on the third object. No flame like a candle or anything I have ever seen. The last one traveled the same course, on the same track as the previous object.

 

I do have some video that I took with my camera if you would like them. There is not much to see, but you can hear what the viewers had to say.

Yes, the sighting was really weird. I am a aviation watcher and have been for years. My hobby is in the sky. These things kind of spooked me out. I love the original movie "War of the Worlds" and the sighting made me think of that move. 

 

 

 

Anyway, we are still here and I will keep on watching.  The video sucks, sorry, it was taken with a small camera I carry around with me at all times, just in case. The cool thing is, after the first sighting which I saw two objects flying in a formation, I went inside to get the wife. 

 

You can hear her in the back ground in one of the video, she said something like you can see the fire coming from it. That was the third one. My little one, 20 year old Michigan State University student came out for the fourth one and it scared the crap out of her. 

 

She has been watching the sky ever since she was 4 years old, and if I don't know what it was, then she gets spooked. Anyway if you need any more information, call me anytime.

Orange Colored Spherical Object Near Marshalltown Iowa

Date: March 25, 2011

Time: Approx: 8:45 p.m.

My wife and I noticed an orange colored spherical object with maybe a tail (?) in the southern sky, moving mostly west and slightly north. I first noticed it while looking out my front door.

I thought it was the last part of a fireworks, but after it didn't fade out, I went outside to watch it. I too thought it was maybe a helicopter, but it made no noise.

It flickered ever so softly, like a candle. I watched it for about two or three minutes until I lost sight of it behind clouds and trees. This occurred on Friday March 25, 2011 around 8:45pm. I have never seen anything like this.

I searched online for similar sightings, and found the same type of sighting over Marshalltown, but days earlier. Very strange. It wasn't moving fast. I just kind of floated, but changed directions like a helicopter.

Orange Light Over Marshalltown Iowa

Date: March 13, 2011
Time: Approx: 8:15 p.m.

At around 8:15pm tonight, March 13th, 2011, while standing outside of our church in the parking lot, a friend I was talking to looked up and pointed to the sky and asked me what is that? I looked up, and coming out of the northeast sky and moving toward the southwest was a single soft glowing orange spherical light.

At first I thought it was life flight helicopter circling, preparing to land at the helipad across the street in front of our church, but then we both noticed that there was no noise. I then pointed the light out to 3 other individuals in the parking lot.

I noticed other people in the parking lot were also watching it. It continued moving in a southwesterly direction, and then it appeared to begin to gain altitude, but still maintaining the same speed.

The orange light then slowly faded out of sight. The total time that we watched the light was around one minute. The sky was clear. The temperature was 32 degrees. Ages of the witnesses were from 18 to 48. I did call the WHO 13 news radio station in Des Moines, Iowa to see if anyone else had seen the orange light. No one else had. I hope this is of some assistance. I have never seen anything like this before.

Two Orange Lights Over North Of Mason City Iowa

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was standing outside my apartment talking to my mother on the phone when I noticed a light from the east moving slowly west. It looked like it was just north of town. It was an orange-ish color. I watched it move to the west until my view was blocked by trees.

I thought it was just a helicopter, but it was strange there was no sound. Usually the only helicopters in Mason City are the life flight ones coming and going to the hospital that is located just a few blocks from my apartment, so when they come and go I can certainly hear them.

About two minutes after seeing the first one, another light appeared from the same location. this time I paid closer attention to it. It moved in the same direction as the first one, east to west and slowly. I watched as it moved until it was directly north of me. then it did! something different than the first, it turned and moved north. It moved slowly north and then seemed as if it stopped for about 30 seconds. Then it seemed to be moving much faster and quickly disappeared into the northern night sky.

Another Witness For The Orange To Yellow Object Over Iowa City Iowa (Diagram)

Time: Approx: 9:35 p.m.

Yes, I saw this object while leaving my mother's residence at about this time on this date.

See the attached (crude) drawing based on my recollection.

I saw an orange light or orange circular object, traveling roughly from south to north in the northeast sky, on a course that was very regular and smooth, at a speed that would be consistent with a satellite. The diameter of the orange object was 2-3 diameters larger than Jupiter, which was also visible. There were no associated twinkling lights of any other color.

There was no "trail" or sound associated with it. I have seen many satellites at night in the sky, and I know the difference between a satellite and a airplane. This caught my eye because it was not clearly one or the other.

A guy who was walking his dog at the time (at about the intersection of Mormon Treck Avenue and Walden Road) also stopped to look at it, so it was clearly something unusual. I could not track it all the way across the sky. In other words, I did not see it from horizon to horizon. I lost it (or it "disappeared") while it was still high in the sky.

My guess is that this was some sort of atmospheric lensing of a bright satellite.

Orange To Yellow Object Over Iowa City Iowa

Date: August 26, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:35 p.m.

I came across your website while searching for information about the following:

While running tonight, I observed an object in the night sky, which tracked from southeast to northeast, while reaching a maximum apparent altitude of 30 to 40 degrees towards the east from my location in Iowa City, IA. The apparent speed was comparable to that of a jetliner at cruse altitude or of a satellite. The trajectory appeared to be more like that of a satellite. The time was about 9:35 PM CDT, 08/26/10. It was about as bright as Jupiter (the bright “star” under the Moon tonight).

This object was different from either an aircraft or orbiting satellite (I see both of those all of the time and know what they look like) in that it was flickering like a flame, with an orange to yellow color. It disappeared about 15 degrees above northeast. There was neither a trail nor noise associated with it. I’m sure there must be a simple explanation.

Two Craft With Flickering Orange Light Over West Burlington Iowa

Date: July 4, 2010

Time: 9:15 p.m.

On July 4, 2010 at 9:15pm at the West Burlington Iowa annual fireworks show, myself and at least 100+spectators witnessed 2 small crafts float over the event. These crafts where about 200 feet off the ground and they were traveling south to north at about 35 mph. The craft were was dark on the bottom and had no visible markings or lights on them.

The top of the crafts had a clear, transparent top that was illuminating a bright, flickering dull orange light. We watched them for about 2 minutes before they floated out of sight. If you have any questions please call me.
