Lights Making Unusual Maneuvers Over Leicester East Midlands England UK

Date:  December 5, 2014
Time:  Evening.

I saw 6 objects in the sky tonight over Leicester, UK. At first I thought it was a helicopter carrying a big container.

Then the two objects split, the small (just a bright light) vanished and then I observed the larger of the two, which was a large square object with lights on each point suddenly stop and hover until it moved at a 90 degree angle side ways.

I have never in my life seen a helicopter or a plane do something like that and then it just disappeared!

About two minutes down the road after just telling myself it must have been someone messing about (as I'm rather skeptical on these things and try to find a logical answer) I then witnessed 4 more of the smaller objects just hovering and not moving!

Without a doubt I am freaked out.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Bizarre Lights Seen In The Sky Over Oadby Leicestershire England UK

Date:  December 5, 2014
Time:  Approx: 8:45 p.m.

Hi Brian, I read a blog post just now that talked about an experience that happened over Leicester earlier tonight. I too saw the strange lights and objects in the sky.

It was about 8:45 p.m. when I was driving near Oadby when I saw what looked like the under light of a helicopter which was carrying what looked like (underneath it) a huge container or object of a square nature with lights on all four corners. I continued to drive just observing it when the two objects detached from each other.

The smaller of the two went off to the right and then disappeared whilst the larger moved over Asda (in Oadby) and abruptly stopped, at this point all my skepticism had been abolished and my stomach dropped, it then suddenly moved at a sharp right angle.

I have never seen a plane or a helicopter do this in my life. I am fair certain that planes cannot just move like that and helicopters have to swing forward slightly to go sideways.

This was as if it had stopped turned mid air and then moved again. It shortly vanished. A couple minutes up the road I then saw another square looking object followed by 3 more smaller with a single bright light, they were all hovering.

No movement what so ever, now I did think these could be stars but no, they were way too close to the road to be stars.

I was a serious skeptic about UFO’s, but tonight blew me away.

9 Orange Fiery Balls Of Light Seen From Birstall Leicester England UK

Date:  January 1, 2012
Time:  12:10 a.m.

Dear Brian, I came across your blog when I did a internet search "balls of light over Midlands UK New Years eve" and I thought you may like hear what I saw last night. I was watching the fireworks last night at midnight in my garden in Birstall, Leicester and I was facing south.

I then turned north and about 00:10 I saw a ball of flames, I say flames because they where not a constant light, but flickering (not flashing like a plane seen a few last night) it was quite low too low to be a plane and was travelling straight and it then disappeared.

The ball was orange and like I said flickering and way to fast to be a plane and it was silent. It cleared my field of vision in a matter of seconds, in the space of 10 - 15 minutes. I observed a total of 9 objects, all the same shape and colour at various altitudes though moving at a constant speed clearing my field of vision in about 5-7 seconds.

The objects seemed to originate from the west and move north, north easterly, but cant be accurate one appeared to go directly west to east, they had varying distances, but seem too dim out, go higher and then disappear.

They definitely were not planes, lanterns, fireworks.

I first thought they were missiles, but no trail or sound ended this theory. This is the first time I have observed something like this, but I know the difference between lanterns, planes and jets. I have even observed drones at night which also can be good show at night and I must admit it did freak me out.

So when I read your blog, I definitely had to inform you of my experience.
I hope this gives you something to go on, as I have been racking my brain all day. Kind regards.

Stationary Short Cigar Shaped UFO Over Oadby Leicester UK

Date: Late 1970’s
Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Oadby Leicester UK.
Number of witnesses: 2 sightings. Several could hear it.
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Bright (stubby) cigar shape with no clearly defined outline.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I had returned home one summer's evening (late 1970's) at about 11:00pm. As I walked up my parent's driveway, my attention was caught by a rhythmic whirring sound above me. As I looked up, in the clear sky I could see a stationary short cigar shaped object that was brightly shining not too far above me. (don't know exactly but perhaps at a height one would normally see a helicopter fly at).

It's outline was not clearly defined as it was simply a bright white/yellowish glow. At this point I was curious as it was not a 'normal' sight or sound. As I watched, it very suddenly darted in a straight line across the sky (to my right) at an unbelievable tremendous speed and came to an abrupt halt (no human made craft that I know of could move like that from a stand-still point at this speed and I remember thinking that no human would cope with the g-force created by this movement).

It was at this point I got exited and rushed into the house calling for anyone in there to come out and see. My mum hurried outside and was able to see and hear the (now stationary) object still making it's unique sound. We watched and discussed what it might be and eventually decided to phone the Police. Soon after the Police arrived (in several cars), with some high-ranking officers, I seem to remember.

We greeted them walking up our driveway and literally as they walked towards us, clouds covered the sight. Very frustrating. The rhythmic whirring sound was there for all to hear, but they could no longer see it. I remember hearing from someone that there were no 'escaped' weather balloons that night, nor was there any military activity that was admitted to. (Perhaps I over-heard a police conversation, I don't remember). The Police stayed for quite a while hoping to get a sighting, but the clouds did not break. After a few hot drinks the Police finally departed with no conclusion or explanation for the happening.

I went to bed with my window wide open still listening to the sound. When I awoke all was back to normal and there was no trace of the object. I was contacted by a local radio station soon after and was invited to recount my experience, but I was far too embarrassed and I declined. I have often thought about trying to find out if there are still records of my call to the Police and the goings-on of that evening.

Many years later (in the late 1980's) I was in Majorca on holiday and I was standing on our balcony looking up to the stars and to my surprise I saw many objects (perhaps about 15 that looked like stars) in a cluster darting in all directions at great speed, (but staying together in this cluster). I was of course reminded of my previous experience as the movements were exactly the same. This time however, I could not hear anything and they were much higher in the sky. I watched this display for quite a while then decided to retire. I did not report this at all.

Bright Flashing Object Over Birstall Leicester UK

Date: November 10, 2010
Time: 1:00am – it’s 2:06am now and can still see it.

Location of Sighting: Birstall Leicester UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Appeared to be lights.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Both me and my boyfriend witnessed what appeared to be a very bright shining star. We were standing at the rear of his house looking southeast, towards Leicester. We kept looking at it, as it was considerably brighter than any star we could see (It is a very clear night with not much cloud cover.)

As we looked at it, we noticed it appeared to be almost flashing with a large spectrum of colour, mainly blue, red and white. We thought this was odd, so kept looking at it, and it seemed to get bigger and the lights we could see shining were not shining in a pattern, they would flash faster and slower.

Also this object we could see in the sky appeared to move considerably, almost like it was swinging, moving left to right and also up and down, but in a small area, not all across the sky. It is now 1.40am, and as I have gone out to check on it, we have noticed a small red flashing light which was next to the object when I first went out to check.

It wasn't there before I came into write this email. In a matter of seconds, this red flashing light that was next to the flashing object high in the sky has descended quickly and also is not flashing in any kind of pattern, but it is just one red light. At around approximately 1.25am the original flashing object shrunk in size, now it looks almost like any other star, but it is still flashing and it is still there.

Also, me and my boyfriend have seen what appears to be a shooting star out of the corner of our eyes on three occasions whilst looking at this object. It shot at such a speed that when you move your eyes to look at it, it has gone. Neither me or my boyfriend can explain it, the original object has transformed in it’s size and the amount of light it has been emitting has dropped.

When it was at its brightest, with the lights of different colours shining strong, it almost looked as if there was something below it, the light was casting a shadow. It’s difficult to describe, but it kind of resembled what you see at an eclipse of the sun, but obviously on a smaller scale. It is 2:07am now and the original object can still be seen, but is much smaller than it became at approximately 1:10am.
