Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: On March 29, 2015 I received an email from a lady who was looking for a telephone interview I did with her brother for my radio show. I replied and told her I would have a look to see if I could locate the clip, which I did. I wrote telling her I did find it, and that I would be happy to send it along. So I removed the music, etc. and uploaded it so she could download the clip. She also told me that her brother had passed away the day after Christmas 2007, and her niece was trying to locate the recording. I was happy I had the opportunity to speak with her brother over what it was he saw. Below, the interview I had with her brother.

Full Description of event/sighting: April 6, 2007 at approximately 5:40 a.m. PST. Skies are clear, and sun has not risen yet.

While walking to my workplace from the parking lot, I observed a bright white light directly over my workplace. The object appeared to be hovering at an altitude of a few hundred feet or less.

I first thought it might be a helicopter as they do lift equipment in from time to time, but only in daylight with plenty of safety precautions, but there was no sound.

The bright light appeared to be oriented north to south at this time and I was facing due west. Light emanating from the object was shining southward and was spreading out like a floodlight at approximately 135 degrees wide, but it did not appear to penetrate very far.

Light shining northward from object appeared to be "star like".

There appeared to be a box-like shape of light between the north and south extremities of the object. I walked toward my building for about 30 yards while watching the object hover in place and fluctuate in brightness slightly.

I stopped walking and stared due west at the object. At this point the object, shot/rocketed/propelled northward at a very high rate of speed.

By my guess of where the second event occurred, by judging the mountains (pacific coastal) behind it, my best estimate is about 20 miles in one second !

The final action of this event was astounding. When the light traveled, it appeared star-like then flashed out. During the flash there appeared to be an explosion or burst, no flame, but 8 - 10 rectangular objects were propelled further northward. These objects looked like giant ice cubes were luminescent aqua blue color and were in a near perfect circle, like a big smoke ring getting farther apart as it the traveled northward.

The whole process took maybe 3 seconds. Judging by the last fading light and the relation to the mountains behind it the cubes it appeared to over San Mateo or Redwood city.

This is a distance of 20- 25 miles from Sunnyvale. side note. I work for a large defense contractor situated between Onizuka Air Force Base and Moffet Field. anyone traveling north or south on highway 101 that morning could have seen this event! Thanks.

Bright Box Like UFO Hovering At A Few Hundred Feet Above Sunnyvale California (Written Report/Audio Interview)

Rectangular Box Like UFO With Lights Over Columbus Georgia

Time:  7:30 p.m.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was standing in my front yard and my wife was on the porch. I noticed something above the tree line over my neighbors house across the street.

 

I called my wife down to look and we noticed what looked like a rectangular box with lights in front and back, almost to say, like a car floating in the sky. We didn't hear any noise coming from it and it moved pretty slow.

 

It crossed over the street and disappeared. It was gone as quick as we saw it. If I hadn't been watching the sky, I would of never seen it.

Flat Black Rectangular Box Seen Over Wal-Mart Parking Lot Phoenix Arizona

 

Date:  August 24, 2005

Time:  5:00 p.m.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was at a Wal-Mart and I was going to my car. The sky was partly cloudy. I happened to look up and I saw a rectangular box that was as large as an airliner.

 

It was flat black. It moved contrary to the direction that the clouds were moving. It moved upwards at an angle. I had no camera and all I could do is watch it as it rose and eventually disappeared. I am an Engineer and an aircraft buff so I know it wasn't any aircraft from earth.

 

Additional Information:

 

Hi, It took place in Phoenix Arizona. I was at a Wal-Mart on 51st and Indian School road.

On a personal note, I would like to say that I am a trained Engineer and have worked in the Aerospace industry for 15 years. This was not any aircraft from earth.

UFO - Small Black Box Hovering Over Witnesses Home At Renton Washington

Time: Late afternoon.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was getting a solar panel installation estimate on my house. The woman providing the quote was measuring the area on my roof for the install. I was standing in the front yard watching her walk around on the roof. I then noticed a small black box hovering in the sky over my house. I have no way to know how high it was. I just stared at it for a few seconds.

No reflections, but it didn't seem to be a perfect rectangle. The western edge seemed to have some "imperfections". I called out to Aimee (the woman measuring on the roof). I kept saying "what is that? Can you see that?" It turns out that she doesn't have the best eyesight and really couldn't figure out what I was pointing at. I then ran back inside to get binoculars and when I returned, it was gone. It hadn't been moving at all before, and then it was completely gone moments later.

It was sunny. No pictures of it. I've thought about it on and off since and thought I should just report it. I could call the company that did the install to see if I could get the exact date of the estimate. Let me know if it's important enough to get that info.

Two Elongated Box Shaped H UFOs Near Musquodoboit Harbour Nova Scotia (Diagram And Maps)

Date: October 24, 1997
Time: 315:00 hrs Atlantic Daylight Savings Time.

Location of Sighting: near Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia.

Shape of objects: Two elongated box shaped objects with something that was connecting them looking like the letter H.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was on a mild afternoon of Friday, October 24, 1997 at about 15:00 hours. Atlantic Daylight Savings Time (19:00 hours G.M.T.) when suddenly something caught my eye, right over the right to center of paved highway on Route #357, just over the tree line gliding silently, making no audible noise.

It was "not" an airplane, and Halifax International Airport is not a long way away, estimated to be about 30 kilometers away, as the crow flies, from where I was on this afternoon.

Prior to the sighting, the afternoon started out as any other normal day. I decided to take my son who had just turned four, only a month prior to this, and he wanted me to take him to the little park near the arena in Musquodoboit Harbour, where there are swings, teeter totters, monkey bars and slides.

We spent about a half hour at the park, where he had a great time on the swings and slides.

After we left the park, at about 2:30 p.m., we set out to drive North on Route #357 to get some water at a fresh spring that percolates from the underground fed spring, and has a generous amount of fresh water supply that is located about 12 kilometers north of Musquodoboit Harbour.

On our way there, we stopped next to a large Stillwater along the Musquodoboit River, and I showed my son how to skip flat rocks over water.

He attempted to try, but because of his age, he did not do too well that day, but gave it a great effort in trying. He was having fun, and as long as he was having fun, so was I.

I remember this day clearly, as this day is the same day as my mother's birthday, but we were going to go down and see her the next day, as this was on a Friday.

After leaving the Stillwater where the Musquodoboit River runs right along side the paved road, we continued driving north where the community sort of stops and the houses built thin out, and there is the odd cottage that was built along this highway.

There are many side roads to wood lots and lakes, and this area has many fresh water lakes peppered all along the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.

Please note all the bodies of fresh water; just left to the center, you can see a little blue arrow.
Approximately, 8 12 kilometers from where Route #357 starts north from the intersection of Highway 7 in Musquodoboit Harbour, something caught my eye moving very slowly across the tree line ahead.

I quickly pulled over to the shoulder of the road, and got out to get a better look. What I seen did not make sense! Here is a map where I saw this:
This was no airplane.

I never saw anything quite like it. It was box shaped, long and tapered on the front and there was another one, right beside it. Between the two box shaped crafts, there was a tunnel like thing joining the two long fuselages; and from my vantage point, it looked like the letter "H".

I would say that the altitude of this thing was no more than two hundred feet high, and only about 300 feet north of where I stood, slowly moving in an easterly direction.

The mid section of this fuselage had these ribbons like things hanging down from it.

I had my 4 year old son with me and I started getting a bit nervous, as I was not sure what I was seeing and I feared for his safety.

I told him to stay seated and after watching this thing for about 40 seconds to perhaps a minute at the longest, it disappeared out of site blocked out by the tree line.

Here is a graphic to show what it sort of looked like that I drew on Photoimpact. It is not exactly what I witnessed, but gives a overall approximation.

To this day, I don't know what it is that I seen. It was large, based on the surroundings, and width of highway, and with my working background in Land Surveying and often using triangulation to determine approximate distances, I would estimate the length of this craft to be about 180 to 200 feet long and between 40 to 50 feet between the two fuselages.

There were no wings that I could see, and the sky had scattered clouds and sunshine. I seem to recall what appeared to be a greenish mist around this thing before it disappeared from the tree line.

It made no noise, and glided slowly, guesstimate at about 5 knots more or less. I recall getting back in the truck and driving up the road a bit further where there was a turn in the road to see if I could get another glimpse of this thing, but I could not find it any longer.

I recall looking to the Northwest and seeing what appeared to be a Dash 8 plane going in a NW direction toward Halifax International Airport which was not too far away.

I know that my mind could certainly make out the planes that I am familiar with that fly in and out of Halifax Airport.

What I seen a few minutes previously, was not an airplane. It was not a helicopter, and had no wings or propeller blades that I could see, and it was silent, so what was propelling it.

When I got home, I told my wife about it and told some of my friends, but I did not call any authorities and did not tell too many people about it, outside of my immediate family and friends.

When telling my sister in-law about it a few days later after I saw this thing, she mentioned that a number of people reported seeing strange lights in the sky further down the Eastern Shore during the night time hours that same week, and apparently it went on for a few days.

There were I believe some military (navy) exercises for NATO forces doing beach landings that same year, but do not remember if it was during the same time I had my sighting or not.

It was years later when I went into the Casebooks form, another member there urged me to post my sighting and tell others about it.

I guess that I waited for almost 8 years before telling others about it, as I feared ridicule and did not want the media to come hounding me, as the only thing that I have, is the sighting etched in my memory and can not show any other supportive evidence to collaborate my story.

It basically amounts to my word and if others want to choose to believe or disbelieve it. But I know what I saw, and no one can ever change my mind; it was something flying in the air that I have never seen before or since.

In doing some online investigations on looking for others who have seen similar craft, there are possibly sightings in Ireland and another in Quebec, Canada.

One thing that I would not be able to answer, was it an earth based craft, or something from outer space.

I don't think that I could ever answer that question, but I do know, it was not a standard type aircraft that normally flies in our skies, and I have never seen anything like it before that day, or since that day.

Box Or Rectangular Shaped UFO 30 Miles NW Of San Antonio Texas

Date: 2009

Time: Daytime sighting.

Hello, I am writing to say that I, too, saw a box shaped, or rectangular shaped UFO myself. I, too, Googled that term and read the story of the rectangular UFO on Sightings.com, and am responding to the Brian Vike request for reports of rectangular UFOs. I live out in the country about 30 miles NW of San Antonio, Texas.

Last year, in absolutely clear, cloudless weather, on a warm day I saw something which I could not identify.

I was outside in my front yard and saw, in the sky at about a 45 degree angle up from the ground, an object which had the proportions of a dollar bill. That is, two or more times wider than it was tall, with square corners. It was the color of coin silver, or a slightly yellowish, dull silver-gray color. I saw it only in this shape, like a flat, two-dimensional object. If it had depth, or 3 dimensions, I did not see that, as I saw it only on that one side.

The object was without features except for an oval, or ellipse, centered both horizontally and vertically, which took up a bout maybe 15% of the area on that side. All color was the same grayish silver.

It seemed to me to be rather close, maybe a few hundred feet or closer, but I just cannot judge the distance at all, as there was no reference for me to use in determining distance or size.

I was nervous at seeing it, and, since I was alone at home at the time, I just went inside, after about a minute, rather than watch it. I was afraid that if it saw me, it might "get" me. I experienced no missing time as a result, so I escaped!! Sort of silly, I know, but it was a strange thing to see.

The only other thing I noticed that morning that got my attention is that there seemed to be several jets that flew around in the area, criss-crossing the sky at different times. Not all at once, but across three hours or so. I note this because out in the country where I am, we see only jets on approach to the San Antonio International Airport and occasionally a propeller driven plane going somewhere else. Military jets zoom by at a few thousand feet, but do not criss-cross the sky. They fly always in a westerly to easterly path.

So, that is my odd little story. This is the only UFO that I have ever seen.

Indiana Box Shaped UFO Sighting

Hello Brian, I'm writing because I Googled "box-shaped object sky Indiana" and instantly came to this article: http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/2010/07/large-box-shaped-ufo-seen-on-i-80.html

I Googled that particular phrase because I saw something odd in the sky about a week ago.

My wife and I live in Texas and had flown into Indianapolis on Friday, Sep 24, 2010. We were heading to Lafayette for a couple of days, and rented a car to make the last leap of the journey. We were on the road and leaving Indianapolis by about 5:00pm that evening. Not too far into our drive, I noticed something peculiar in the sky. At this point, we were on I-465 and close to exiting onto I-65. It would have been in the general 5:30'ish pm time frame. Still broad daylight outside.

So as I was driving, an object in the sky caught my eye. It was pretty much straight ahead and low to the horizon. Distance to the object was very hard to judge, but it wasn't close. If I were forced to put a number to the distance I would guesstimate in the 3 - 5 mile range. If it was indeed that far out, thinking about what a large commercial airliner would look like at any of those distances, this would have been several times larger.

What I saw was a rectangle, plain and simple! It was roughly two and a half to three times longer than it was tall, with sharp corners. It was dull gray in color, several shades darker than the (clear) sky behind it, but not overly attention grabbing.

I didn't notice any lights or reflections. It was moving at what I would call a slow pace, from our left to right (so east, to east-northeast). It was low enough that we would lose sight of it behind the trees as we drove.

I pointed it out to my wife and said something along the lines of "hey look, a UFO!". At the time, I was just joking. I will be the first to admit that I'm fascinated with UFO stories. I don't know that I fully believe that we are, or have been visited, but I'm open to the idea. My wife just rolls her eyes and leaves the room if I'm watching a show on UFO's. :) So we have a difference of opinions there and I was pointing it out just to push her buttons, fully expecting to explain the object as we got closer.

We never really seemed to get closer to it though. We were able to see it for at least 5 minutes and although traffic was heavy, it was flowing fine at the time so we were going 60mph or so. This is about the only thing I have to base my distance estimate above on. It was moving away from us at about 90 degrees, so as we got closer to where it would have crossed the road, it had moved on along its own path and we eventually lost it for good due to trees along the road.

While I can't tell you what it was, I can tell you what it was not. It was not a meteor, a cloud, swamp gas, a satellite, or the space station. It was absolutely, positively not a jet, a prop plane, or a helicopter. If I am completely wrong on the distance scale and it was considerably closer than I'm saying, then given it's size in the sky, we would have been able to clearly make out traditional features like propellers, rotors, wings, etc. There were none.

We actually were never able to make out any "depth" to the object either. It may have just been the way that we were lined up with it the entire time, but it was more like a flat plane (as in a two-dimensional surface, not as in "airplane"). This made both my wife and I comment that it must be an advertisement banner being pulled by a small airplane. The speed it appeared to be moving would have been acceptable for that scenario. But there was no small airplane and no discernable text or graphics on the "banner".

I have never seen a rectangular blimp/airship (again, there were absolutely no rounded corners on this, draw a normal rectangle on a piece of paper and that is the exact shape we saw!), but after excluding jets, prop planes, and helicopters, that is the only manmade flying "thing" that my brain has left for an explanation. Despite that process of elimination, the same brain is also saying "ehh, that wasn't a blimp".

In short, neither my wife or I have an explanation for what we saw, and that is why I went looking on the Internet for others who might have seen it and been curious. It was rush-hour traffic, so there were plenty of eyes pointed in the same direction as ours. As I mentioned initially, the object wasn't exactly screaming for attention (muted in color, low on the horizon, and no lights or fast movement) so I can completely understand it escaping the attention of a high percentage of people who were paying more attention to traffic than I was. But surely someone saw it!

For the record, I am 37 and have worked in the IT field for about 16 years now. Photography is a pretty serious hobby of mine, and I usually go to at least one air show per year to photograph. That certainly doesn't make me a professional witness, but I've got a pretty good concept of what "normal" objects in the sky look like. My wife doesn't share my love of air shows, but she is a tenured engineering professor at a major university, so she has her fair share of brains and logic upstairs.

On the topic of photography, I'm kicking myself because I had my camera with me, but made a very conscious decision that I wouldn't need my 500mm lens on this trip, so I opted to pack lighter and I left it at home. I wouldn't have been able to capture anything of usable detail with the lenses I did have with me (I hate pictures where there's a speck that someone is claiming it is a UFO or a ghost or Big Foot or Elvis!), so I didn't bother getting off of the Interstate and trying to find a safe place to stop because it would have just made us late and frustrated me when I saw that I didn't have anything to show for it.

Anyway, we live happy normal lives and are simply curious about what we saw, not making wild claims and definitely not seeking publicity. If you hear anything more, I would certainly enjoy hearing about it!

Large Box Shaped UFO Seen On I-80 Indiana/Illinois USA

Date: July 4, 2010

Time: Approx: 3:00 a.m.

Hello, just dropping you an email to let you know that my parents were travelling through the Indiana/Illinois area on I-80 on July 4th, somewhere in the 3:00pm range, and reported to me that they saw a very large, horizontal box shaped object cross the road in front of them, the object went up and hovered in the sky for quite sometime until it disappeared. My father (81 years old) has never believed in UFO's, so for him to report something like this to me means that he was definitely mystified by the object.

After hearing about this, I Goggled UFO sightings for the 4th, to see if anyone else had seen it and came across the report from Orland Park, which was probably not far from where they saw the object (though much earlier in the day).
