Large Bright Orange Lights Over Horsforth Leeds UK

 

Date:  January 2009

Time:  10:35 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.

 

Horsforth, Leeds 2 Jan 2009 between 22:35 and 22:45. Two separate instances of a large bright orange light (like a hot air balloon on fire) slowly travelling southeast to northwest across the sky before disappearing.

 

It was actually spotted by our dog. It was not a plane as we live next door to Leeds/Bradford airport and a plane was taking off at the same time. Plausible explanation is something burning up through atmosphere, but why 2 instances the same colour within 10 minutes?

Orange Lights Over Leeds West Yorkshire UK

 

Date:  December 2010 to early months of 2011

Time:  Evenings.

In relation to strange orange lights over Leeds my girlfriend and myself witnessed a number of these lights from December 2010 to early months of 2011.

We have not seen any more since.

They were bright orange and to myself look possibly triangular in shape but difficult to make out the full shape.

Some moved at a slow pace from south to north and others seemed to stay in the same position.

No engine noise could be heard nor could we spot normal aircraft lights. The sky was otherwise clear with stars.

Orange Lights Over Leeds UK

Time: Evening.

My name is (name removed). My mother and I saw about 30 pale orange lights coming up from the ground, or it looked as though some were and others looked as though they were coming from behind clouds. But always from the same areas. They seemed to slow down and stop at times and sometimes just seemed to vanish.

At first we thought they were some sort of lantern for bonfire night, but to say how high they were they would have to have been very large lanterns. I looked through my mothers binoculars and they looked like they had flames behind them .

Even tonight when I went to her home, I saw three more in the space of fifteen minutes. Just wanted to know what they were. This was in the Leeds 16 area, but mum has an aerial view from her flat so can see for miles over lots of Leeds .

Bright Flame Colored Object Over Leeds West Yorkshire UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At approximately 9:00pm I spotted what I thought was a Chinese lantern in the sky, but after a few seconds it was obvious it was far too bright (bright flame colours) and it was moving much too quick. It took me about 10 seconds to fetch my camera, by which time the object was moving over the top of our house. I managed to get a photo of it as it moved away in a northerly direction.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I saw 3 lights in the sky from Chapeltown. I was looking south towards Leeds City Centre UK.

I watch aircraft coming into Leeds/Bradford airport and I am fairly certain they were not regular airplanes, as I see airplanes everyday and night travelling into the airport. I used to be in the military and have been trained to spot an airplane/helicopter at a long distance and I'm fairly certain these lights were neither. (they weren't flashing, just moving steadily in a formation, then 2 left, leaving just 1.)

As the clouds moved and covered them I could no longer see them. Anyone else see them?

4 Bright Orange Lights Over Leeds United Kingdom

Dear Sirs, my name is (name removed) and early hours of this morning at approximately 00:10. I was driving south on the motorway past Leeds and my mate pointed out these 4 orange lights. He said I wonder how they're held up as they looked like lights as they were in line with the slip road. They were in a straight line.

I didn't take much notice until they broke formation. We pulled up on the hard shoulder and watched them move eerily slow across the sky. This is the honest gospel truth. My heart was pounding with excitement. It was busy on the motorway and it was a clear sky and you'd have to be blind not to have seen them, as they stood right out. Has anyone else reported this ? Rugby Ball Shaped Object Over Kippax Leeds UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: There was lots of cloud cover on Saturday night, so didn't expect to see anything. At approx 9:50pm a medium sized rugby ball shaped object flew in a straight line over Kippax towards the Swimming baths. It was a very bright orange shape. It was flying into quite strong winds, so wasn't a lantern as we previously thought as we have seen these before.

Orange Colored Objects Over Bradford/Leeds UK

The events people are describing are in line with mine, all orange objects (lots) between 00.20 and 01.00 1st Jan 2010 all flying southwest over Bradford/Leeds. Orange Lights In Close Formation Over Rothwell Leeds UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I saw an orange light moving slowly towards my home from the north and assumed it was a helicopter, except the usual WY Police machine has a whiter light.
I watched it moving for a minute or so, and then noticed 2 others orange lights moving in roughly the same direction. They were not in close formation but seemed to be travelling about the same speed in the same direction. They passed by and continued in South-south -westerly direction. At least one was above the cloud base because occasionally it was obscured by cloud.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: On our way out to the cinemas at around 6:00pm New Years Eve, when we saw 3 yellow roundish objects in the sky, we kept them in sight all the way to Castleford when there was then only two objects, when we came out of the cinema we could only find one, did anyone else see them and does anyone know what they were.

Waves Of Orange Lights Seen From Middleton Hill, Leeds (New Year)

Time: Midnight tonight and half twelve.

We saw them too between midnight tonight and half twelve. There were at least 100 of them. They came on in waves from the east, west, and dead north flying in procession and sometimes formations of a rectangle and a rhombus. They were all exactly the same in colour and brightness except the last wave which seemed smaller and not quite as brilliant. They were all headed convergent south.

This sighting was the horizon of Leeds city centre, points north-east of it and east from what looked like it was over the Seacroft area. Seen from the crest of Middleton Hill, Leeds. Witnesses from my household: 4

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Watching the fireworks just after midnight and saw one orange light, then turned around and saw a further two. Turned around again to make sure we hadn't confused any with the first one and saw yet another one. They make no noise whatsoever and just continue on course. This isn't the first time we have seen them, Halloween was the first time, but it's usually just a single one, we were surprised to see four tonight so I looked them up and found this site.
