Orange Objects Over Omaha Nebraska

Date:  November 16, 2011
Time:  Evening.

Good evening, I just witnessed a similar event here in Omaha, Nebraska USA. My roommate and I for the last thirty minutes watched as a group of 3-10 orange bulbs flew from  the northern sky to the southwest sky and occasionally north to east.

We witnessed 10 groups fly over. Neither of us have previously seen a UFO, our third roommate suggested maybe they were birds lit up by the city lights. They were moving from the northern sky to southern and out of sight within 10-12 seconds.

Higher than a plane, and moving much faster than a jet or satellite. I was amazed at what we saw, came inside after 10 minutes of no sightings. And Google this topic, saw your post maybe they are related. Keep me posted if you hear of other stories similar to this.

Feel free to pass this information on. Thank you.

10 Red Colored Objects Over The Ambassador Nursing Home Omaha Nebraska

Date:  July 4, 2011
Time:  9:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: 72nd and Seward Street. (Omaha Nebraska)
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 10
Shape of Objects: Round.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Me and my girlfriend went outside of The Ambassador Nursing Home to look at the fireworks. We weren't outside, but a few minutes when we saw a red-lighted object coming from the east. It flew slowly across the sky and kept climbing upward like a balloon, but it was dark, so we would not have been able to see it if it was a balloon.
The light did not flash like the lights of an aircraft would have. It did not blink or explode like fireworks would have. It did not have a streak or fall back to Earth like a flare would have.

Before that one disappeared from sight into the upper atmosphere, we saw another one coming from the east. A few minutes after both had climbed out of sight, we saw four more coming from the east! One was close enough to see a solid white light at the bottom of the red light.

Before the last of the four, the one we saw closer, two more came from the west. We were able to see a white light underneath the red light of one of those. Everyone of these objects seemed to slowly floated upward and disappeared and probably took about three minutes from sighting to disappearance.

We hadn't seen anymore for probably about twenty minutes before we saw another one coming from the west and another behind the trees to the north. When those disappeared, we didn't see anymore. We went back inside about ten minutes later. I didn't see anymore on the drive home to Plattsmouth.

The whole event was strange and seemed as if they weren't worried about being spotted because people were busy watching fireworks and might have confused them for fireworks. But I have never seen a firework that didn't streak or explode and just keep rising up into the sky.
We were wondering if anyone else noticed this and at this point, I have not found anything mentioning this. But it does sound similar to the report from last July 4th west of Omaha with the exception of these objects were not in any formation and were not hovering.

Glowing Orange Objects Over Omaha Nebraska

Date: August 28, 2010
Time: 11:08 p.m.

Four of us spotted what appeared to be a strange orange object in the sky, moving to the north at a speed much faster than an airplane. It looked almost like a meteor, but was not losing altitude, and disappeared over the horizon. The first one was spotted at 11:08 CDT. About five minutes later there was a second similar object also moving to the north. The second one appeared to be further to the west. I did a Google search to see if there were any reported sightings and came across your article from July 5th.

Triangular Formation Of Lights Hovering Over West Of Omaha Along Platte And Elkhorn Rivers Nebraska

Date: July 4, 2010
Time: Between 10:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

I just Googled "lights in the sky over NE" for July 4, 2010 to see if there was any explanation for what my husband and I saw that night while we were out driving around to look at the fireworks displays around the western edge of Omaha.

We live in a rural area just west of Omaha along the Platte and Elkhorn Rivers. We always drive along the river bluff areas on the 4th of July after dark to watch the fireworks displays from all of the suburbs and lake communities. Between 10:15pm and 10:30pm we saw three constant lights in the northeastern sky that seemed to be in a somewhat triangular formation, just hovering over the river valley, not moving!

At first we thought maybe it was some sort of parachute or fireworks, but we continued to watch it as we drove east toward hwy 275, and it never faded out or drifted down to the ground like a firework would, it just stayed constant. Very weird! We were both very uneasy about what we were seeing, but curious.

We decided to head home to see if anything was on the news about it, nothing. Then, after we turned off the TV, we went to sit on the back porch of our rural home, and the same formation of lights was to the south of our home. This was at least an hour later, about 11:30pm or so, and it was about 20 miles south of where we had seen it before! Too weird! We went inside and just quit talking, we didn't know what to say, denial I'm not sure.

We just went to bed and said no more about it since. This is the first time I've had the time to look up anything online, and I was shocked to see the posting from someone else in North Bend, which is just west of where we saw the lights! If you have any insight as to what this was, please let me know. Thanks.

Orange Glowing Flickering Objects Over Omaha Nebraska

Date: July 5, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Was checking online to see if anyone had similar stories about strange orange lights in the sky tonight and saw your web page: http://www.sightings.com/1.reports2010/bellevilleIL07042010.html dated July 4, 2010.

Nine adults and 4 children in Omaha, Nebraska saw 3 orange glowing/flickering things in the sky at dusk, an hour or so before fireworks began on July 5, 2010. SO, lets say about 9:00pm CST tonight. They didn't seem to be connected, although one adult thought one might be pulling a second one. They appeared about 2 times total, as if they were circling just east of us and we saw the western edge of the circling each time they came around. Could have been 6 total, though not really sure.

We have a lot of trees in our neighborhood, so we couldn't tell if they had circled or more were following the original 3. Two adults had just driven in from lake of the Ozarks... 5 or so hours away in central Missouri... and said people saw the same thing there the night before. They appeared to be in somewhat of a line. Not a perfect line, but as if they were following each other. First two seemed closer together, then trailed by a third.

Theories from the kids? Hot air balloons, because it looked like fire was seen. Theories from the adults? Someone mentioned Chinese lanterns or something like that, but a mile in the sky or more. We all saw what looked like fire. At first it looked like airplanes on fire, but there were no usual airplane lights. We typically have helicopters over our neighborhood (police and hospital/trauma), but these were definitely not those. Plus, our city doesn't even have 3. That's all I know, but wanted to share the info. Thanks.
