Bright Flaming Object With Short Fiery Tail Seen Over Jacksonville Florida

Time:  Evening.

 

While I was driving home on PI day I saw a very bright flaming object moving through the clouds. I stopped on the side of the road, knowing this wasn't a shooting star, to continue watching it.

 

It came down towards the earth and over my car. It seemed to have a short fiery tail and was emitting bright flashes of light into the clouds. The object seemed like it was looking for something.

 

This object was literally on fire, while seemingly being guided. The object glided in a zig-zag upwards and through the clouds. The parking lot I stopped in had a few other people looking at this for a short while.

 

Many of them dismissed it being a shooting star, but claimed it could have been a military plane.

Two Bright Lights Seen Over Sandalwood Jacksonville Florida (Venus And Jupiter)

I just posted the comment before. By the way, the two bright lights seen from Sandalwood neighborhood were in Jacksonville Fl. Next to Craig airport. They were stationary as if hovering.

 

Much too high to be towers. One to the right when we were facing west was slightly brighter and larger.

 

They were observed for over an hour then we went inside the house. When we came out 5 minutes later they had disappeared completely.

Two Different UFO Sightings – Needle Shaped And A White Disc Seen Between Daytona And Jacksonville Florida

Time:  Approx: 3:00 p.m.

 

I have always believed in the fact that aliens and UFO’s exist (too many sightings and credible witnesses not to) and I actually saw 2 UFO’s on Interstate 95 last year (approximately 3:00 p.m. - 1/30/11) as I was driving north between Daytona and Jacksonville. 

 

The first one was like a silver needle-all flat with no tail or wings and it just flew about a 2 miles in front across the visible highway between the trees. 

 

Then about 20 minutes later, I saw a “white disc” that appeared in the same point of view and at first was still, and then it began to follow a plane that appeared from the left, but then it stopped and went backwards without gaining altitude. 

 

It did this a couple of times and then it disappeared from our sight (I had my cousin in the front seat who also witnessed this one as she was sleeping during the first sighting). 

 

I didn’t report it, as I didn’t know your site existed then. Any insight would be welcomed.

Round Red Lights Seen Over Jacksonville Beach Florida

Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

 

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of Objects: 6 to 8.

Shape of Objects: Spherical red lights.

 

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was watching a movie and noticed through my window these red lights coming from behind the condo building in front of mine. They were travelling in from the ocean towards the southeast and then seemed to turn around towards the east and slowly disappeared one or two at a time.

 

They made no noise and were about 300 feet above the beach. I took a picture from my 3rd floor balcony of one of the spheres, but unfortunately it didn't capture it properly. About 1 minute later another single red light sphere appeared and did the same thing.

 

About 3 weeks ago I saw similar objects, but these were white lights and were travelling from the southeast and disappeared going towards the east over the ocean. I don't believe what I saw were helicopters or airplanes as I see and hear them all the time flying above t! he beach.

 

These were silent and did not fly in any formation.

15 To 20 Bright Red/Orange Colored Lights Over Lakewood Area Of Jacksonville Florida

Yes, saw about 15-20 last night in the Lakewood area of Jacksonville. They were very bright, looked like the size of a large star/planet, reddish-orange, they came from the south, one after the other, sometimes in groups of 4 or 5, maybe more, then disappeared.

 

My husband thought they were missiles being fired at us because they just kept coming for about 3-4 minutes. Then they just stopped and the last one just disappeared.

Red Light Traveling In The Sky Over Jacksonville Beach Florida

Time:  12:10 a.m. and 12:21 a.m.

 

Hey, I live on 10th Ave., and saw a red light with 3 other people. The light was coming west to east doing zig zags, then faded out, got dim and then just gone. 

 

This was from about 12:10 a.m. January 1, 2012 and another sighting ironically around 12:21 a.m. from my balcony.

 

It was going in a similar direction. It was not blinking or flashing solid bright light until it left right above us.

8 Bright Orange Lights Seen Over Goodby's Creek Area Jacksonville Florida

Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

 

I live in the Goodby's Creek area in Jacksonville, Florida. Around 9:00 p.m. (12/31/2011), my wife and I counted as many as eight bright orange lights (I counted 7, she counted 8).

 

We saw them in the southwest for several minutes, and they appeared to be moving steadily toward the east, not speeding up or slowing down, nor changing direction.

 

They eventually faded out one at a time. The last one faded out almost directly overhead. My wife believes she saw them change directions, but I did not notice that.

 

I tried to get a video of it with my mobile phone camera, but that didn't work out.

I have never seen anything like this. At first, we thought they might be helicopters from Camp Blanding. Then maybe rockets, but we saw no smoke trail.

 

Perhaps they were meteors glancing through the atmosphere. They were certainly the right color for meteors, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with that explanation either.

 

My wife is definitely not satisfied with that explanation, and she is a meteorite/star-gazing enthusiast. We are both skeptical of UFO sightings and not prone to get exited about such stuff.

 

But what I saw last night was very interesting.

Orange Lights Flying Over Downtown Jacksonville Florida

I too saw the same orange lights over downtown Jacksonville, Fl. At about 12:10 a.m. on 1/1/12. They were beautiful and looked like fire of some sort. They were coming from the southwest of the river and traveling ne.

 

After about two minutes, they would flicker out. It was so cool. I have no idea what they were! Do you?

6 Red/Orange Lights Out Over The Ocean From Jacksonville Beach Florida

Time:  Approx: 12:37 a.m.

 

At approximately the same time on 1/1/12 from Jacksonville Beach looking south I saw approximately 6 similar red-orange lights head straight out over the ocean (east) and disappear over the horizon. They were spaced a minute or two apart on the same path flying somewhat low.

 

It looked like military jets with afterburners from a distance but where moving too slow. It didn't look like airplane lights which aren't usually as bright as this especially when flying perpendicular to to your vantage point. I suspected missile testing.

Three Orange Lights In A Triangle Pattern Over Jacksonville Florida

We saw them too. Three, though. Triangular formation pattern, no engine noise, no conventional navigation lights or strobes visible. They faded out sequentially after going over the ocean.

 

Never saw anything like it in over 30 years in aviation.

4 Orange Balls Of Light Seen Over Jacksonville Florida

Hi, I live off  Beaver Street close to Chaffee Road in west Jax FL. I seen 4 orange balls of light flying on the night of January 1, 2012 at about 12:30 a.m. and all of them came from the west. The first one headed east then it took a sharp turn north.

 

The second one caught up to the first and went the same way. The next two came a few minutes later side by side flying east. If you could please email me if you have found anything else about them. I'm very interested to know what they are if they are not UFO's. Thank you.

6 Or 7 Balls Of Orange Light Over Jacksonville Florida (Chinese Lanterns)

 

Hello, I was reading your comments on the internet about the orange balls of light you saw in Jacksonville, Florida. I just saw these last night. My neighbor did too. There were about 6 or seven of them that seem to be floating upward.

They were big and lasted for awhile. I looked at them thru my binoculars and it sort of looked like a floating white opaque paper bag or chefs hat with an orange fire attached to it. Very strange. Did you ever find out what it is?

Floating Campfire Colored Objects In The Sky Over Jacksonville Florida

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I have actually had two encounters of this kind. The first time was in October. My boyfriend and I were just getting out of my car, I was waiting for him to take our baby’s car seat out when I looked up.

I saw what appeared to be a floating "campfire" traveling fairly low in the sky. It was moving slow enough for us to watch it for a minute or two before it zoomed toward the southwest. We had not seen anything like that before, and it was not until a few weeks ago that we saw it again.

On the fourth of July, we went out to Jacksonville beach to watch the fireworks with our child. I happened to look up and see the same kind of floating fire that we had witnessed before.

At first I thought it could have been from the fireworks, but it was going the opposite direction the wind was blowing.

I pointed it out to my boyfriend and he was amazed to see it again also. I have tried researching it, but I have only found a Will-o'-the-wisps for a matching description, and neither time was around a marsh.

Metallic Cigar/Saucer Shaped UFO Over Plummers Cove Jacksonville Florida

Location of Sighting: Jacksonville Florida.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We were driving over the Buckman Bridge (I-295) heading east. As we (my fiancé and myself) were coming over the span heading east-bound (on the east side) I looked out over an area called Plummers Cove, which was just to the east-north-east of our location on the bridge, when I spotted a cigar shaped object hovering low on the horizon, just over the tree line.

At first, I thought it was just a P-3 Orion Naval aircraft (we were just south of NAS Jax). But upon further inspection, it was not an aircraft. I was able to triangulate it's precise location as I was coming down the bridge, because there were tall objects in the distance (the south side radio tower farm) and I had a vantage point that was the same height as the object, which allowed me to see trees in the distance behind the object, which made it easy to tell the object was in front of them and just over the tree line just east of the river, about 50 feet above the trees.

The object was metallic and cigar/saucer shaped and had what looked like little protrusions coming from the bottom of the object. There was no vertical stabilizers and it was not a blimp. The object was about the size of a car in relation to the trees it was over and the trees that were behind it, in the distance. The object remained stationary over the the trees. Even as we were moving at a rate of about 65mph, the object never moved from it's spot.

Our visual of the object was lost when we went lower than the tree line on the far east side of the bridge (here the bridge is about 30 feet off the water).

I'm a pilot, I'm very well trained in aircraft recognition and have never seen anything like this. It was very strange.

Later that night, strange lights were also seen in the area by several people, that I later read about.

People At New Years Party Spot Lights South Of Jacksonville Florida (Pictures)

Time: Approx: 12:10 a.m.

Hey last night I was at a decent sized New Years party, maybe about 40-50 high school and college kids there. At around 12:10, every single person was looking at the lights and yelling and screaming. It seemed like they kept coming, I know for sure I saw one, then the 3 in a row and then at least one more. What’s weird with the 3 in a row is that they stayed in the same formation, and from where I was standing flew right by Orion’s belt.

The way they were formed looked like a direct copy of Orion’s belt to me. I captured a video and took 3 pictures. Unfortunately, you can’t make out anything in the video, just a bunch of people yelling ‘aliens!’ and things.

I did however get 3 pictures, although they are blurry. In ‘ufo1’ you can see one of the lights right under the light from the flash, in the other 2 pictures I guess I was moving to much and it’s blurry.

Sorry for the poor quality, a lot of people were taking pictures and video so maybe my friends will put up some good ones on Facebook and I’ll send you more.
