Neon Green Object With Small Tail Spotted Over South Elgin Kane County Illinois (Fireball/Meteor)

I was driving to the train this morning around 5:20 a.m., in south Elgin heading east on Middle Street by Route 25.

Something caught my eye in the sky, it was a green light. At first I though shooting star, but it was moving to fast and green (like a neon light green) it had a tail.

It was very small, but like a tear drop shape. It was moving north downwards. I only saw it for a few seconds too. I though I was crazy until I saw your page. Just wanted to share.

Objects/Lights Had A Amber Rosy Glow Over Elgin Illinois

Full Description of Event/Sighting: They had an amber rosy glow almost exactly like the picture of the one you have of the one on your sight about the 3 you saw on long common parkway. I'm freaked and really am afraid of being ridiculed about this especially if they are just stupid lanterns.

But when I saw them, they did not float upward into the sky light lanterns do, they were almost in a diamond like formation and did not move for the some odd minute I stared at them while driving on Duncan.

My silly wife did not stop, she just kept driving so did not get best view, but enough to freak me out because I have never seen such big lights radiating so low to the land and I especially never thought I'd be seeing that in Elgin.

Strange Blue And Yellow Lights Separate And Join Up Over Elgin Illinois

Full Description of Event/Sighting: In the sky was a blue light traveling south, then two yellow lights traveling southwest were traveling their own path. They dispersed then formed together and created a v formation.

A second later they came together and separated then together and apart again. Then they finally dissipated into the air.

Object Filmed With Large Contrail Following Behind Over Elgin Illinois (Picture)

Date: January 4, 2011

Time: Between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Vike Factor Note: With photos of an orange color to the object, usually caused by the sun setting making the object appear to be orange, most of the photos I see like this are jet aircraft, but this one is a bit strange looking. I might be wrong, but the object making the contrail looks like the old flying wing, or something of that shape. I really am not sure what this is.

Brian, I live in a retirement community off (name removed) Rd in Elgin, Illinois. Our house backs up to a small wetland area so I have my camera ready to take pictures of all the wildlife we see here.

On January 4th, 2011 though between 5:00-6:00pm I saw what I thought was an interesting orange cloud.

I grabbed the camera, but noticed the cloud was moving rapidly southeast. My 100-400-lens is not great when it is dark, but I shot anyway. I put the picture on the computer in Photoshop just to crop it and make the resolution better. I did not alter the picture other than that! It was not a cloud, it is "V" shaped and just doesn't look like an airplane either, very interesting.

The V sides looked rolled. Anyway I have attached the picture to this email for your interest.

I am not someone who has studied UFOs or even want to believe that they exist.

Bright Yellow/Orange Colored Light Over Central Elgin County Ontario

Date: January 21, 2011

Time: Between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight.

Dear Mr. Vike, I found your site when I did an internet search to learn there were any other reports of something that I saw in the north-northeast sky between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight on Friday, January 21, 2011.

As I entered our bedroom to go to bed between 11:00pm and midnight, January 21, 2011, I saw a very bright yellow-orange colored light that appeared to be pulsating well above the tree-line of the horizon in the north-northeast sky, in the southern part of Central Elgin, in Elgin County, Ontario, Canada, approximately 3-4 km north of Lake Erie's north shoreline near Port Bruce.

The light was much brighter and some of the stars or planets that stand out from other stars, and it seemed much too brilliant and different than any airplane that one regularly sees in the evening night. It looked like it was pulsating, but it could have been multiple lights blurred together to look like a pulse, because it appeared quite distant from our location, perhaps more than 2 kms.

I stood looking at this light for about 15 to 20 seconds and was about to awaken my wife to look, but the light completely disappeared in an instant. It looked like it 'burned out'. I was in disbelief and I woke my wife up right away and told her what I'd just seen. This was not a meteor of any sort. I have seen many meteors of many sizes and speeds.

This object appeared stationary. There was no obstruction in the sky where I had seen that pulsating light, which might have explained its disappearance, as sometimes air craft flying directly away can cross obstructions such as trees that block one's view. As I said, this light was well above the horizon and tree-line and the sky was completely clear and there were no clouds at all.

I have not seen anything like this before, and I have to say that I feel awkward sending a message to a person like you who I only discovered via a quick web search for possible similar sightings.

I have not been able to find any online reports of a similar sighting in this area on that date. This is what I saw and I cannot explain it.

Have you heard of any other similar sightings from this area or elsewhere even remotely similar to what I saw? Please let me know what you think. Thanks and regards.

Loud Sound And Three Bright Lights Over South Elgin Illinois

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was snowplowing on the corner of Longcommon Parkway and Boews road at the Dell Web Home when my machine broke down. I got out of the machine and heard some loud noises in the sky, they sounded like aircraft jets flying by a high rate of speed.

I looked up at the sky to see if I can see the airplanes and saw these bright lights in the sky. I took out my video recorder to record what I was seeing and zoomed in and those bright lights caught my eyes. It didn't very much seem like a airplane, I just wanted to see if anyone had seen on that particular day. Orange Lights Over Elgin Northwest Of Chicago Illinois

Time: Evening.

Hello, we live in Elgin near the South Elgin border. My husband and I were just in our driveway and saw the same thing as described at this link.

We only saw two though. It was low, not high like a plane but it's very cloudy out right now and it was lower than the clouds. We could see it clearly. It went straight over the house and faded out not too long after we followed it into the yard.

We waited a few minutes and didn't see another one. That's when I came in and jumped online. They traveled fast and in a straight path...not with the wind. It did look like some type of flare but strange that you would see it also almost a month ago.

Will keep watching the sky.

Orange UFO And A Flash Seen From Hill St. By Larsen Middle School Elgin Illinois

Date: September 5, 2010

Time: Approx: 10:03 p.m.

Sorry for the bother, but we have had an experience like the on your website. Today around 10:03 we spotted an orange sphere in the 60120 area around Hill St. By Larsen middle school. At first the sphere was moving somewhat slow, but then it sped up at first we thought it was a plane or helicopter, but we realized it was moving too fast.

As we followed it, there was a big flash and at that moment it seemed to disappear, but like a minute later re-appeared and was moving back and forward at alarming speeds. Then about 10 minutes later we saw government planes scouting the area.

At this moment (10:36) they are still searching the skies. We would like to know any information that you have on it and if you hear about any one else having this same experience please contact us A.S.A.P. We tried taking a video, but nothing seemed to show on it.

Sightings.com Reports Orange Yellow Lights Over Elgin Illinois

Time: Approx: 9:15 - 9:30pm-ish

Hi Brian, my boyfriend and I saw something similar last night on the 4th of July, 2010, around 9:15/9:30pm-ish

Moving toward the North West, we saw one orangish light flying across the sky, really fast. Then we saw a second one coming from the same area, it flew really fast toward the first, got really close, and then backed off a bit and continued across the sky, in the same straight path. Then a third appeared and then a forth. All moving really fast following the same path.

They made no sound, and they disappeared/faded into the clouds in the same location. We thought they might be helicopters but they made no sound. I thought the orangish-yellow light looked like a fire from an air balloon, but they were moving way too fast. They crossed the whole sky in less than a minute.

We laughed and said “If aliens were to check us out it’d probably be on the 4th of July with all the fireworks in the sky, wondering what the heck is going on down there?" LOL

10 Orange Lights Seen Over Elgin Illinois

Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Yes! We were outside last night (July 4, 2010) around 10:00pm, Elgin, Il, great view from our balcony, we can see so much, and in a row, maybe 1 minute apart. We saw this orange light. I got out my binoculars and looked as close as I could, and it looked like an eagle with it's tail on fire, no kidding. There were like 10 the whole night, same straight line same direction.

I thought it could be someone pulling a prank, like a balloon or something, but how could it go in that same exact path? This was too weird. We have seen 3 different times, and this time of year, strange
things over our place. I distinctly remember last year, we were out walking and was what looked like a paper bag with a green light in it, like those that people put outside during Christmas to line their
drives, and again, it flew too fast and straight line like these orange ones, except it was lower and we could see it clearly, no sound again either. Hmmm, is something watching us?
