Odd Looking Lights Seen In The Sky From Calgary Alberta

Date:  February 23, 2015
Time:  Approximately 11:00 p.m.

Number of Objects: 2 perhaps, 3 lights connected or along a thread of light.
Shape of Objects: 2 or 3 lights seemingly connected by a thread of light between them moving north.
Colour of Object: Whitish perhaps some silver?

Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: There are a lot of reports coming in from across Canada, mostly in British Columbia and Alberta. Trying to figure out what they might be.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I had just pulled out of the carwash to the Heritage and Fairmont intersection red light to head south on Fairmont Dr. SE.

I was obviously looking south across the intersection watching the traffic light to turn green. From my view south to the south southwest some weird lights caught my eye.

They caught my eye because they didn’t fit any pattern I could recognize such as aircraft etc.

I kept watching as the light turned green and I went south while still trying to figure the lights out. (and wandering all over the road).

I thought the lights were a reflection off an apartment roof, then I thought had some construction started and they erected one of those big cranes?

I kept watching the lights and thought I have to pull over and get out to see better. The lights were still visible when I turned right (W) on Avonburn Rd. As soon as I turn the corner I stopped in the middle of the road, so the tree on my right wouldn’t block the lights and I jumped out on the car.

The lights were now passing the west and fading as they moved north. I saw the lights for a total time of about 25-30 seconds and only about 5 seconds out of the car.

I also thought that they must have been meteors, except they moved too slow, lasted too long and the 2 or 3 lights seemed to be following a single line with a dimmer line of light between them.

So, to sum it up, 2 perhaps a much dimmer 3 rd light moving form SSW to W then towards the north. Not over Calgary, but a long way off about 40 degrees above the horizon of buildings.

Bright enough to be seen well above the brightness of the city lights. I think you would be getting some reports from Calgary westwards.

Just really curious what it could have been and hoping others saw it.

Green Balls Of Light Line Up In The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Time:  11:08 p.m.

I live in Calgary Alberta and I was just outside and saw a green ball of light slowly going down then back up a little then gone not 10 minutes later.

I saw 4-7  balls all above each other, then they all went in a line a cross the sky then gone.

I found your e mail online linked to a UFO sighting.

Get back to me ASAP, its not the first time me or my girlfriend has seen similar things to this. date today is February 23, 2015 at 11:08 p.m.

Orange Fireball Object/UFO Seen In The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  February 3, 2015
Time:  Approximately 6:45 p.m.

I just saw orange centered fireball like in your photo from New Years flying pretty low under an airplane traveling towards the Calgary, Alberta airport, it was like yours, travelling faster than a plane.

The one I saw looked like what you seen if you type green fireball into Google, except with a core.

I was having a cigarette and thought I should make a wish, thinking it was a shooting star, but it was way too low.

Anyways, just passing the information along, as I thought you might be interested or possibly be able to make some connections.

Unfortunately I don't have a photo. It appeared smaller from where I was than in the photo you had?

The green end or wavy part of the fireball you seen in the Google image was almost like a concentrated flame that propelled it.

All speculation of course. Thanks for listening. Have a good night.

Orange Glowing Lights Seen Flying Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  December 31, 2014
Time:  Approximately 9:00 p.m.

Its New Years Eve, my boyfriend and friend were outside, when he started calling my name to come quick! I ran outside thinking its another owl in our tree.

I saw immediately it was 2 bright glowing round lights moving slowly, they seemed quite low, not a plane, moved diagonally, silently across the sky.

I watched until one disappeared and the other until out of sight, then another one came from the same direction and I called for my daughter and mother, who came outside and saw it too.

I've been Googling to see if anyone else has seen it/them here in Calgary, Alberta Canada.

It seems they're being seen everywhere around the world. Very freaky and exciting!

Orange Glowing Object Spotted Flying Over Calgary Alberta (Pictures)

Time:  1:30 a.m.

Hi, my name is (Name removed). I witnessed what you described in your blog. I did a quick search on what my girlfriend and I saw.

We went out for a cigarette at 1:30 a.m. shortly after we got home from the Calgary, Alberta 2015 New Years celebration downtown when I saw a strange light flying below an airplane.

It was much lower and quite a bit faster than the aircraft, it has a strange orange glow to it, much like a fireball.

At first we watch it pass overhead not thinking much of it until it sped up and disappeared, it was at that point that another appeared from the horizon in the northwest.

It passed also overhead and then again another, this one however came from the south. It changed its course and followed the targeting of the first and flew off into the sky until it disappeared as well.

My girlfriend began to record the following three that appeared from the northwest and took pictures of the next two as they flew over head. I then ran inside and grabbed my binoculars and attempted to get a closer look.

I was astonished to see that they had no true shape. It shifted and warped as it flew overhead. An orange blob of what I can only describe as liquid fire.

The first two looked nearly the same and the next one was brighter and much larger with a oval shape to it. Surrounding it was a orange field of glowing plasma much like a plasma globe. No sound was heard as it quickly passed over.

She has several images of the phenomenon and a few videos if you are interested in seeing them. I am going to keep my eyes to the sky in hopes of getting better images of them.

Also after she went inside I returned to see the last few pass and began to notice the sky beginning to pulse with blue light in the area which they flew. I don't know if it had anything to do with the objects, but I figured it was worth noting.

Diagonal Line Of Orange/Red Bright White Lights Seen In The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  December 24, 2014
Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Hi there, last night (December 24, 2014) just after 9:00 p.m. I entered my bedroom to close the blinds for the night. I noticed very bright lights out my window.

They were too low to be stars and at first I thought it was a series of 3 aircraft. But then I realized none of the lights were flashing, they were just burning very bright (more than a star would).

The night was clear, no wind. The lights appeared about halfway to ¾ of the way up the horizon. At first I thought there were 4 lights, but as I approached the window I only saw three.

They were in a diagonal line with the light on  the left in the lowest position. The light on the left appeared to be red/orange. The other two lights were white.

As I watched, the light at the far right moved underneath the middle light and they hovered around sort of going in and out of a triangle pattern.

I did not have my cell with me or I would have tried to film it. I was too mesmerized by what I was looking at to leave the room to get my phone. I called for my husband and kids to come see, but they were in the basement and didn’t hear me.

The lights didn’t move in a way that I have ever seen something move in the night sky. They hovered around and didn’t follow any kind of organized pattern.

After a couple of minutes or so the two white lights simply dimmed out and disappeared from view. The bigger red light moved around for a bit then it appeared to get much smaller and dimmed out as well.

The whole encounter probably only lasted 2-3 minutes.

It was very strange. I would love to know if anyone else in the area saw these!

Two Extremely Bright Blue/White Objects In The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  December 24, 2014
Time:  6:45 p.m.

Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Round.
Colour of Object: Intense blue/white.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: While standing upon my deck, facing southeast, my wife and I noticed 2 extremely bright blue-white objects separated by approximately 2 degrees.

They where located between Aldebaran and Gamma Tauri. We watched the twin objects for about 30 seconds, the -1 magnitude brightness was not reflective in nature, but appeared to be generated by the objects.

There also appeared to be absolutely no movement or noise out of them, then after 30 seconds they just faded to black, the fade out happened over a 5 second period.

The sky was clear and the temperature was -5C. Regrettably there was not enough time to run and grab my camera.

Crescent Shaped UFO/Craft Observed In The Sky From Calgary Alberta (Solved - The Moon)

Hello, In the southeastern sky at Calgary, Alberta at approximately 7:00 a.m. I saw something that looked like a crescent moon.

In fact as I was barely awake having a smoke I thought it was the moon until I realized it was in east not west.

It was rising not setting. Any other reports of this?

Blue Colored Light/Object Falls From The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Time:  7:50 a.m.

This morning at 7:50 a.m. right at 130th and Deerfoot Trail, southeast falling from the sky at about 200 feet when it got brighter then burned out at about 100 feet.

For some reason I can't remember for sure the colour, but I believe it was blue. Looked like a small firework in reverse.

Bright Light Moved Silently And Fast Across The Sky Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  September 20, 2014
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

I saw the UFO Saturday night September 20, 2014. It was very bright fast and low when it came in from the west. It went north and very high where it appeared as a star. From there it slowly crossed the sky from north to south before my neck was to sore and I went inside.

When I came back out, I could not see it again. It’s the first time I have ever seen anything like this. I was struck by the silence and the speed.

Additional Information:

Calgary, Alberta. It came in from the west Saturday evening then turned north and went very high where it appeared to be a star. It then moved slowly all the way south of the city. Calgary is a very large city in land size. About fifty kms from north to south end.

The first part took less than 30 seconds. The last part from high up slowly moving south took about half an hour. Saturday September 20, 2014 and the time was roughly 10:00 p.m.

4 Floating Glowing Spheres/Lights Change Direction Over Calgary Alberta

Saw 4 last night in Calgary, Alberta. 3 at first then another. Glowing spheres seemed to be floating at first but then changed direction and sped up.

No noise, reminded me of hot air balloons in a way with constant glow.

An Explosion Of Light Lit Up The Entire Area In Calgary Alberta

September 10, 2014 on Tuesday in Calgary during the snow storm there was a very large light explosion occurred right in front of our apartment building. There are no wires or transformers or anything that could explode.

The light lit up everything like daylight. Another tenant mentioned the light explosion the next morning in the lobby. It was so close to the building I screamed as I was listening to the radio.

Red/Orange Ball Of Light Splits Into Four Over Calgary Alberta

Date:  August 30, 2014
Time:  Approx: 10:30 p.m.

I was standing on the deck in southwest Calgary, Alberta looking for the northern lights. As I was looking up I saw a reddish/orange ball of light in the sky.

It was not really a light, it was more like glass lit up from inside, difficult to describe. It split into 4 "lights" that were equidistant from each other. No sound and no decrease in speed.

They moved from a northerly direction to the south. It probably happened in less than a minute and they were gone.

Have to say it was the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Did not see the northern lights, still not sure what I saw. Regards.

Several Colourful Vertical Shafts Of Light In The Sky Over Calgary Alberta (Excellent Picture)

Time:  Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Attention:  Brian Vike
 
Direction:  N.W. Calgary sky.

Condition:    Bright moonlight
                    Clear skies
                    Very cold temperatures, about –20 degrees C.

Sighting:  Several colourful vertical shafts of light; slow changes in intensity and colour; eventually fading away.
                    
Did briefly see a couple shafts of light in the Eastern sky.

Here is a photograph that I took, looking in a North Westerly direction.

Light Quadrupled In Size With Several Smaller Lights Seen Over A Downtown Building In Calgary Alberta

 

Date:  January 2012

Time:  Around 7:00 p.m. -  7:30 p.m

 

Driving south to Calgary in January around 7:00 p.m. -  7:30 p.m. I was just pulling in to to city when I seen a bright white over the building downtown.

 

The light then quadrupled its size like an explosion of light with several smaller lights around it sparkling.

 

This all lasted a minute at the almost when I lost my line of sight for a minute. When I could see the buildings again, it was gone.

 

I'm reporting this to find out if I was the only one that seen this event in the sky's over Calgary.

Triangular Shaped UFO Spotted Over Calgary Alberta

Time:  Approx: 11:00 – 12:00 a.m.

 

Hello, I’m a 25 year old male, I live in Calgary Alberta SE. On March 30/2012 around 11:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. I looked out my window and I saw a what at first I though was a plane.

 

I immediately looked for the blinking lights planes have, but there were non. I took a closer look and it was a triangle shape, with 4 very dim and blurry lights on each point and one in the middle.

 

I am a believer of aliens, I had a dream about 2 years ago of 3 pyramids with lights on the bottom hovering in the sky. But this wasn’t a dream. I know what I saw.

 

Also the more I tried to concentrate on the UFO, the blurrier it got. Almost wavy like water. I ran into the other room to see if my roommate could see it, and it was gone.
