3 Glowing Orange Red Objects/Lights Over Maple Ridge British Columbia (Map)

Date:  March 27, 2011
Time:  8:45 p.m.

Dear Brian, I am writing to confirm another report on your website concerning "unidentified flying objects" over Maple Ridge, BC on the evening of Sunday, March 27th, 2011. On that day, it had been rather stormy and rainy, but it finally stopped in the evening and so I went out for a walk through the town center.

The streets were virtually empty and all was quiet and calm. There was hardly any automobile traffic on the street. I found it odd and a bit eerie. There was barely any wind, though some heavy clouds were still lurking about and it seemed more rain was imminent.

It was like being in the eye of a storm. Overhead, the sky was clear, a few stars were visible, and I could observe the occasional passenger jet coming over the mountains to the north, bound for Vancouver, and I could hear them too.

After being out for about an hour, I was on my way back home, walking North on 223rd Street. At about 8:45 pm, at the intersection of 223rd and McIntosh Avenue I glanced to my right, looking East, thinking I might see my brother who lives in a high-rise apartment building on McIntosh Ave, as he is often out on his balcony.

As I looked up in that direction, I immediately noticed 3 glowing, orange-red objects or orbs, in a straight line in the sky. They were not huge by any means, but larger than stars. They appeared to be moving to the West, albeit, very slowly and silently.

I stopped immediately and observed for several minutes, hoping someone else might come by that I could point this out to them and get another opinion, and hopefully some verification of what I was seeing. Unfortunately, there was no one out there and I had no camera. So I just did my best to make a mental image of what I was seeing.

I continued watching and tried to judge their distance and altitude, based upon their position relative to the nearby high-rise building and other buildings a few blocks away, as well as some clouds I could see to the south.

I guessed that they were not very big objects, probably not more than 2 or 3 KM away, and that their altitude was likely no higher than 1 to 2 KM at the very most, judging by the heavy rain clouds hanging in the South, and the mountains to the North.

After a minute or two, it appeared that the lead object came to a stop, while the second (middle) object moved off to the left side (northward), and that the third object then caught up and moved more to the right (south), so that the 3 objects then formed a triangle, and all appeared to stand stationary, until they all faded from view. I believe the cloud may have enveloped them at that point, but it is difficult to say with the glow from the city lights.

One thing I would like to note about these 3 objects is that, while appearing as roundish objects, they appeared to emit a strange aura. It looked like an elongated diamond shape going up and down, from each one of them. This gave the appearance of a spire going up and another going down, though this was faint.

As I began to walk again, continuing North, I observed a passenger jet coming over the mountains and it's appearance, with bright white headlights and green and red lights on the sides, as well as the noise it made, all of which was in stark contrast to the 3 objects I had just observed in the eastern sky.

I am 51 years of age, have good eyesight and do not where glasses, and have good hearing too. Having worked in security and investigations for most of my adult life, I also have very good observation skills. I am generally a skeptical person and do try to consider what explanations there might be for any out of the ordinary phenomenon.

I was thinking these could be emergency flares, though it seems odd that they would be set off over a city, even if on the outskirts, but their movements seem to rule that out. I also considered if someone may have set off some flaming Japanese lanterns that propel themselves upwards and can remain a loft for sometime, however, again, the movements of these objects seem to rule that out too.

Also, while there was very little wind, the slight wind that I could detect seemed to be coming from the Northwest, and so any "floating" objects would have been propelled to the Southeast, not to the West.

Up until 2010, I had never seen anything before of this nature, however, one evening about 6 months ago, I observed something quite similar in the western sky towards Pitt Meadows. So this is the second such sighting, though I did not report the first one, except to friends.

I am not confirming these as being some form of "alien craft" and am not claiming that I had an "ET encounter", only that this was a very strange visual phenomenon, to which I am as of yet lacking any normal explanation. I heard nothing about it in the local media, and am delighted to see that someone else witnessed this and reported it.

Please feel free to add my report to that report:  http://canadaufo.blogspot.com/2011/03/orange-lights-form-triangle-over-maple.html

I am including a Google map of the town centre, where I was located, which direction I was looking etc. The large red dot is where I was standing, with an arrow pointing in the direction in which I saw these objects. Best regards.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
