4 Orange Globes Above Glenrothes Scotland UK

Date: March 25, 2011
Time: Evening.

Hi there, I came across your website. My partner and I also witnessed 4 orange globes in Glenrothes on Friday night (25.3.11). These were observed one after the other with about 5 minutes apart. All followed same line of flight and disappeared as if heading towards Edinburgh.

Have you had any other reported sightings from Friday night?

9 Red Objects/Lights Observed Over Glenrothes Scotland UK

Date: January 1, 2011
Time: 12:12 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Glenrothes Scotland UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 9
Shape of Objects: Spherical.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: It was New Year's Day 2011 and it was just passed midnight, so I went to the window to look for any signs of firework displays. At first I saw no fireworks, but saw a bright red light in the sky, it was in the distance and I just thought it was a plane or helicopter.

But then more of these red lights began to move at speed across the sky much nearer to where I was. One passed me directly overhead, there was no noise at all so it most definitely wasn't an aircraft. It wasn't a firework.

I don't know what it was. It was a very bright constant red light which moved in a straight line across the sky never moving up nor down. That light disappeared into the distance and was shortly replaced by another another, at one point I saw 5 in the sky at once.

I have no idea what they were so if anyone out there does know then I'd like to know.

Orange Fireballs In Sky Over Glenrothes Fife Scotland UK

Date: November/December 2010
Time: Evening.

I just came across the website and the reports of the fireballs/Chinese lanterns viewed flying over Fife in Scotland. I have seen these objects on several different occasions over the last couple of months.

I stay in a town called Glenrothes in central Fife. The objects are orange, spherical and travel around the same speed as a plane. Not sure about height, 1000 feet, perhaps more (I'm not very good at judging height).

Always seen them at night only. The strangest thing is, no noise at all.

First time I witnessed them, one flew over from Northeast to Southwest. After approx 5 minutes, another passed on exactly the same course, 10 mins later another 2 flew over (half a kilometre apart) and then 10 mins later another. All following the same direction. It looked like they were travelling from the direction of Leuchars RAF base in North East Fife heading towards Edinburgh.

The following week I saw a single one flying this time towards Leuchars in the same line/flight path.

I've saw a single one on two more occasions since.

Hope this helps.

Orange Globes Over Glenrothes Fife Scotland UK

Date: Date: August - November 2010 (4 separate occasions)
Time: Between 2100 - 2230

Hi, I just found the site and thought I'd have to add my sightings to the others from my area.

Location of Sighting: Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland.
Number of witnesses: 3 on first sighting, 1 on following occasions
Number of Objects: 5 during the first sighting, 1 on the following sightings
Shape of Objects: Circular.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: One orange globe flying the same speed as a small plane at a height of approximately 1000 feet or more (I'm not great at judging height). Five minutes later another following exact same line of flight. Five to ten minutes later 2 more flying at the same speed approximately 500 meters apart, then five minutes later another following the same path.

No flashing lights, just large orange globes. No sound whatsoever. The objects were flying from northeast to southwest. They looked to be coming from the direction of the Leuchars RAF base near to St. Andrews heading towards Edinburgh. I don't have any binoculars to have tried to get a closer look.

On 3 more occasions I have witnessed these objects. A single one each time. Once heading southwest to northeast and twice heading northeast to southwest. No noise on any of these times.

Thanks.
