Orange Light Over Durbanville South Africa

Time:  After midnight.

 

Hi Brian, on New Year's Eve 2011/2012 (shortly after midnight actually) my sister and I saw a strange orange light moving from south to north in Durbanville. At first I thought it might be fireworks and waited for the "explosion", but soon realized it wasn't.

 

It was moving slower than a plane. Unfortunately I was too mesmerized to grab a camera! Any idea what it could have been? Regards.

Orange Red Objects Seen Over Durbanville South Africa (Picture)

Time:  Approx: 9:15 p.m.

 

Hi Brian, I am responding to the post on your website with same subject line. Myself and two other individuals, saw a similar object tonight (2 January 2012) over Durbanville (South Africa) round 21h15.

 

It moved from west to east. It is orange/reddish and I've attached a picture.

 

I've also got a video clip from my mobile phone, but the quality is bad and I cant see any stars in the background for reference points.

Maybe space debris burning on re-entry? Has anybody seen the same object? Thanks.

Bright Red Light Over Durbanville Cape Town South Africa

Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, I wonder if you can help me to understand what we saw.

On Saturday 19 March, in Durbanville, Cape Town, probably at around 21:00, a group of people saw an extremely bright red light, moving from South to North, in a straight line, parallel to the earth, at great speed, at about the height an aircraft would usually fly.

This object made no sound at all though, and was gone within about 30 seconds. We were 7 adults and 1 child that observed it, and we cannot come up with a single plausible theory as to what it was. Thanks.
