I saw this "bright star-looking " object from Gulf coast of Florida (south of Clearwater) on Sunday March 4, 2012. It appeared to slowly drop from the sky, getting a very bright red light/flame as it got near the horizon.
Approximately 9:00 p.m. eastern standard time. Object was viewed with binoculars for 20-25 minutes. Very cool and strange!
