Red And Orange Balls Of Light In The Sky Over Chicago

Date: July 4, 2010
Time: 10:51 p.m.

At 10:51 pm Central time (Chicago) I saw a red and an orange lights flying side by side probably about 50 feet or more from one another, hard to judge. Flying north as a pair. Flying at the same exact speed. No apparent sound. No flashing lights. Solid orange and red light all the way. Very weird.

Then, at 11:07 pm, I saw a single orange solid light flying north. Again, no sound that I could tell and no flash. Solid light. I caught this second one on phone video.

At 11:39 pm I have, on phone video- flying in same flight path, another orange light flying south to north. No apparent sound. No flashing light.

Each time it was the largest thing in the sky. Also, each time they appeared triangular as they were approaching, then they just looked like balls of light as they passed.
Very strange! Thanks.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

  2. I live in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and just saw a very large reddish ball of light in the sky. It made no noise, and appeared to change direction at one point. On June 8, 2012 at about 1015 pm. I have never seen anything like it before.

  3. I saw 7 orange glowing objects in the night sky between 9:50 and 10:30pm on July 3, 2012. They were definitely not stars, fireworks, or planes. They were at different elevations and in different areas of the sky. Two were very very low and I looked through my binoculars and they appeared to look like balloons with something within them causing the orange glow. Then tonight July 4th at approximately 9:50 I saw another three which appeared w/in a 5 minute period. This time they were all in the Southern sky moving due North. I think it is neat and am interested in what these orange glowing balloons are and who is launching/propelling them in the night sky.

  4. Saturday, July 13th, at around 9:00 p.m., my beau and I saw four of them from Route 2 in Farmington, Maine. On our way home to Starks, Maine from my folks in Wilton, Maine, he was driving and I was looking out the window, not even up at the sky but saw a red ball. At first I thought it was a reflection, from a reflector or a tail light. I asked him if saw them, too. He pulled over and for about the next fifteen minutes of our lives we gazed in the utmost awe at the sky taking turns with our binoculars. The huge reddish-orangish circles could have been flaming fire balls. At first there was one. Traveling across the almost immediate horizon, from what seemed to be the originating from Portland, Maine towards the Bar Harbor, Maine direction, perhaps up the coast. Next, we heard a deep sound, then through the binoculars you could see what appeared to a Stealth aircraft, the kind the United States Military flies. As civilian, I have seen and heard them on occasion, hovering down and around the Rangeley, Maine area, so my mere assumption was cemented as creed with Robert's professional opinion as 29 year VFW and a MSG, Retired from the United States Army. With as much action as he had had throughout his career, he was dumbfounded by the red ball of fire in the sky. A second red object followed the first. then two more. The third was accompanied by what appeared to be an airplane with a "normal" white light and the usual small red ones. Before the fourth red ball, a fast traveling looking airplane, one withe what looked like blue and whites flashing lights, perhaps a State Police aircraft seemed to be part of the "parade".
With an uncertainty of what those amazing balls of red fire were, one could use the acronym UFO, as I/we could NOT IDENTIFY them, they were moving/FLYING through the air/atmosphere, and they were definitely OBJECTS, tangible, not imagined, but whether they were solid, liquid, gas or a combination of sorts is a puzzle. My true concern is that I wonder and worry whether or not they were poison ! ! !

  5. My husband and I saw at least 2 large round orange lights over Fishers, Indiana on July 4th, 2013 at dusk. It was quite bizarre because it couldn’t be explained as an airplane, or helicopter, or remnants of any fireworks or those lantern things they can set off and it definitely wasn’t a plasma ball. It moved in a very quick manner but circled around a minimum of 5-6 times in about 40 minutes or so- it could have been the same light or several and at one point there were two flying relatively close together and as they kept circling around they were getting closer to our home. When it got the closest to our house it scared me and we went inside. It was close enough that there should have been sound but it was completely silent and the last sighting of this unexplained flying object it took off so quickly that it went to the size of a large ball to a pin point in a matter of seconds. Very bizarre and I was surprised at how frightened I became.

  7. Mesquite texas, 1-10-2013, 7:35 pm, Fiance and I driving on service road of lawson rd and I-20 going west. Red lights in sky, looked like radio towers at first, but moving. First there were 4 red lights, then 5, then 6, then 4, then 1, at the time there were 6, 1 was blinking. As they got closer, they were not red, but orange, bright, like fire, too bright to tell exact shape. We pulled over in the truck, I got out, she stayed in. we both witnessed them flying directly over our heads. These were in formation. Crazy, and Im glad I had somebody with me when we saw these. It happened so fast, unfortunately didnt get puicture, was too amazed at what I was seeing.
