Odd Looking Lights Seen In The Sky From Calgary Alberta

Date:  February 23, 2015
Time:  Approximately 11:00 p.m.

Number of Objects: 2 perhaps, 3 lights connected or along a thread of light.
Shape of Objects: 2 or 3 lights seemingly connected by a thread of light between them moving north.
Colour of Object: Whitish perhaps some silver?

Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: There are a lot of reports coming in from across Canada, mostly in British Columbia and Alberta. Trying to figure out what they might be.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I had just pulled out of the carwash to the Heritage and Fairmont intersection red light to head south on Fairmont Dr. SE.

I was obviously looking south across the intersection watching the traffic light to turn green. From my view south to the south southwest some weird lights caught my eye.

They caught my eye because they didn’t fit any pattern I could recognize such as aircraft etc.

I kept watching as the light turned green and I went south while still trying to figure the lights out. (and wandering all over the road).

I thought the lights were a reflection off an apartment roof, then I thought had some construction started and they erected one of those big cranes?

I kept watching the lights and thought I have to pull over and get out to see better. The lights were still visible when I turned right (W) on Avonburn Rd. As soon as I turn the corner I stopped in the middle of the road, so the tree on my right wouldn’t block the lights and I jumped out on the car.

The lights were now passing the west and fading as they moved north. I saw the lights for a total time of about 25-30 seconds and only about 5 seconds out of the car.

I also thought that they must have been meteors, except they moved too slow, lasted too long and the 2 or 3 lights seemed to be following a single line with a dimmer line of light between them.

So, to sum it up, 2 perhaps a much dimmer 3 rd light moving form SSW to W then towards the north. Not over Calgary, but a long way off about 40 degrees above the horizon of buildings.

Bright enough to be seen well above the brightness of the city lights. I think you would be getting some reports from Calgary westwards.

Just really curious what it could have been and hoping others saw it.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Multiple Lights Looking South From Chorley UK

Date: April 3, 2011
Time: 10:15 p.m.

3 April 22:15hrs. Looking south from Chorley we saw many lights which also seemed to be in line astern, but in three groups. It started with an apparent triangle formation followed by 4 or 5 lights, a gap followed by another 5 or 6, another gap and then 5 or 6 more lights.

I wondered if they were aircraft leaving Manchester but as they came north they seemed to disappear somewhere before reaching winter hill. They were not very high and quite fast.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Strange Looking Bright White Light Over Ottawa Ontario

Date: September 5, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, found your sight while doing a little Googling to see if anyone had seen a strange sight in the Ottawa night sky recently.

Here's what happened:

On Sunday, September 5th, at approximately 10:00pm (really not sure about the actual time), my girlfriend and I were sitting on our balcony overlooking the Ottawa River, facing north. We noticed a bright light approaching Ottawa and we both naturally assumed it was some type of aircraft approaching Ottawa's airport (as we are on the flight path and see aircraft all the time).

However, I quickly noticed that there were several strange things about this particular light. The light was approaching rapidly from an unusual angle (heading southwest instead of southeast which is usually the case as this is the direction of the airport). It was moving exceptionally fast compared to other aircraft that I have seen from this vantage point. There were no audible sounds, nor any flashing lights. Just a solid white light. It was not foggy, but there were some clouds scattered about in the sky.

It seemed to me that the speed (which was obviously impossible to estimate or relate) seemed to be extremely fast, but not as fast as watching a satellite passing overhead which would be hard to see from this vantage point as we're not outside the light pollution of the city. I remarked that if it were a commercial jet, it would not have appeared to have been moving so fast as it approached Ottawa unless it was really low in the sky and yet, there were no visible flashing lights nor any sound). I know what an approaching commercial jet looks like, and this one did not appear to be a jet.

As it approached, the light became more brighter, but it still remained a solid white light (no flashing). After about a minute, or so, observing the light as it came closer to our position, it rapidly adjusted it's course (and began heading southeast) and as it turned, the light quickly became less intense. It seemed obvious to me that the vehicle had picked up speed and was now climbing. I was fairly sure that the aircraft had just banked to it's left and was now climbing rapidly. Within a few moments, the faint light disappeared behind one of a few clouds in the sky. I tried to watch for it amongst the cloud and thought that I may have caught a glimpse of it again as it passed near the lower section of the cloud but looking past the cloud and estimating its speed and last known direction, the light did not reappear anywhere.

I am not saying it was a UFO, but it was unknown to me because I'm used to seeing flashing lights on every aircraft I've seen moving rapidly in the night sky. I'm working on the hypothesis that it was a military jet which changed course and climbed when it neared Ottawa airspace, but it was definitely a strange sight. I assume that military aircraft also have flashing lights however.

Would love to hear if you have any insight as to what it might have been. Regards.

An Asteroid Looking Object Breaks Up Over Terrace, British Columbia

Date: November of 2001 (Received this report in March of 2002)
Time: approx: 2:00 a.m.

Greetings, Hi there, we read your writings in the 'News advertiser', dated March 9, 2002.

As we're living on the outskirts of Terrace and I walk my dog late at night, or maybe better to say, in the early, early morning hours. My wife and myself have noticed many a time, strange objects flying over our skies, in the southern parts of the sky towards Kitimat, B.C. We do watch every night for more, and do see things that don't make sense, mostly when watched by the naked eye, we then observe them again inside our home with field-binoculars and observe strange designs of colors and shapes beaming towards mother earth.

In October or early November of 2001, when walking my dogs at around 2:00 a.m. in the morning, I had the biggest scare of my live yet. Now this might sound strange, and if you do not believe me, I apologize for taking your time. But on a walking trip I heard a strange woosing sound coming from the skies and when looking up, it amazed me to see the scare of my life. If you have seen the Hollywood made movie 'asteroid's then you understand what I'm saying. Out of no where this fireball came falling down to earth, it was "BIG" and making an never before heard sound and was red glowing at the bottom side. Yes it looked indeed like a asteroid or something like this.

It came down and then just fell a part like you see with fire works when shot up in the skies. I never found a piece of this on the ground, at least not as far as I ever heard, even my dogs were howling as they were scared like hell. When returning home, I called the local RCMP station and they answered like I was a drunk, although they had received another call like this from New Yeiyens a village about 2 hours driving north of Terrace,B.C. at around 11:00 p.m. That night also, when I told them this looked almost like it was above the town they kinda sounded like, 'yea right', nobody else had seen this object that night. I went on the PC at home and checked all networks I could find, but non had reported a thing. How can something this big get passed our safety lines with all them satellites we have out there ?

Would like to hear from you soon, as my wife is more in sky watching as I am. But even so, we have seen many strange objects throughout the whole year that sure have 'no' airplane light etc..etc..

I thank you for your time reading this and please inform us as to what 'you' have observed in the skies also.

Thank you.

Investigators note: I received another report just like this one from Kitimat which is about 45 minutes away from the above folks.
