Time: Approx: 10:30 p.m.
Hi, I was driving home from relatives after a Christmas Eve gathering last night. I was driving south on Warrenville Rd in Green Brook NJ at approximately 10:30 p.m. when I noticed the 5 or 6 floating red lights in the sky.
At first glance I thought it was a couple of extremely bright stars until I noticed that the lights were moving slowly and independently. I woke up my wife who was sleeping in the passenger seat.
I pulled the car over to the side of the road, where we both watched the lights for 2-3 minutes until the lights slowly faded 1 by 1.

We saw them in Dunellen shortly after you did. They looked more orange to us. But yes, 5 total - 3 in a V formation & 2 to the side. They blinked out over the Watchung mountains. They were really low over our area.
