Date: Sighting received November 01, 2011
About 30 years ago, I was riding in the passenger side of my then husband's mustang.
We were cruising through the area and at that time, there were a lot of open fields, instead of houses and stores. Moving along the highway, I looked out my window and saw a orange ball of light, moving over the field, but it was about half a mile from the road.
It did not bounce as a tractor might, it wasn't at tractor level either. From my vantage point it looked like the size of a baseball and about ten to twelve feet off the ground. Now, put that into distance and it must have been larger than a basket ball and 40-70 feet off the ground.
It moved quickly across the field, parallel to us, but moving faster than we were. We were clipping along at about 80 miles per hour (my ex never drove anywhere slowly). It was further away, so it must have been traveling 10 to 30 miles per hour faster than we were.
I couldn't figure out what it was. I went to tap my hubby on the arm to have him look at it, but just as I reached, still not looking away from it, it suddenly stopped and shot straight up into the air. It went so quickly, and it faded to a dot and was gone, in a matter of seconds.
We were in the Fox Lake area, but I cannot tell you where exactly because it has been so many years ago. I never told anyone. I saw another sight, with several orange balls of light, over Texas once. I wasn't the only one who saw it that time, because it was on the radio and it ended up in the paper and so forth. But, that one ball of light out by Fox Lake? Who would believe it?
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
