Shape of Objects: Upside down bowl shape.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: My husband and I were sitting in our outdoor hot tub when we saw a sharp bright flash in the sky to the west of our home in south central Edmonton. The flash was immediately followed by a very large bang. We witnessed a glowing spot on what appeared to be the bottom of a shape the color of the clouds.
The shape was like an upside down bowl and appeared at about 1000 feet in the air. It steadily moved southeast at what we estimate to be about 1000 mph and it took approximately 20 seconds to cross the sky from west to east.
It almost seemed transparent like a wisp of a cloud. Neither of us have ever seen anything like it. At first we thought it was a firecracker or something exploding in the sky, but then spotted the shape itself. There were clouds in the sky, but at the time the area around the object was clear blue and there was little to no wind.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
