Conditions: Very clear night sky
It is some weeks since the trio of orange lights appeared in the night sky over Woolwich. We had almost forgotten about them when they made an appearance last Sunday night.
Similar to before, they appeared from beyond City Airport, ascending quickly, possibly from the Beckton area. One at first with a dazzling orange light followed by another two. They proceeded line astern south, over the airport and across the river as before. Being a clear night with no haze, their orange flame-like appearance was extremely clear. However, as the sky was so dark, it was not possible to make out the shape of any form as we had before.
Just as before, they passed silently overhead with no navigation lights on a heading that crossed the prevailing westerly wind. This time they were travelling slightly higher than before. They are definitely NOT Chinese lanterns because they do not drift with the wind and the light source is not visible from 'behind'. They move very deliberately and in perfect line astern giving an impression of being intelligently guided.
If anyone else saw then would you please write a report too?
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
